as a radioman in the USN for a few years, I loved the CW. But, I did better recording the message on the typewriter, than with a pencil. Still remember all about it. Thanks>
I could never type that fast, but a really good way to do it because there is less chance of the message on paper being misread because of badly formed written letters.
Not sure about showing dots and dashes. No-one who uses morse code for real "thinks" in dots and dashes. Showing dits and dahs would be better. e.g. 7 would be dah-dah-di-di-dit. That's the correct way to say or "think" morse code when you're learning. It keeps the flow and spacing correct. 73.
Thanks for your comment. I am planning further videos and these ultimately will not show the dots and dashes. Up until now people have liked them, but we are all different and respond to things differently. Thanks again - I'll see what I can do for future videos.
You might like this new video I have launched. It takes on board your comments. It is aimed at being the next step on in learning the code and does not have the dots and dashes appearing in it. I took on board your comments. Hope you like it: th-cam.com/video/VftVLNMuLrI/w-d-xo.html
Wow. Counting fingers. One is one dit. Follows up to five. Turns to dah for six, counts dit down to zero. Love learning morse!

I agree that is just a distraction to the mind and slows the process down.
