I get so pissed when people say that to me once my friend said that to me at class and I got so mad and wanted to punch him but I didn’t show how mad I was cuz I was in class.
Ok so people CLEARLY don’t know how to fall off. 1. Have a plan when your jumping a new thing it doesn’t help if sometimes you try sticking on it could lead to something terrible. 2. Let go of your reins all the time, if you cling onto then the horse could stand on you rather than running a way or standing still. 3. Don’t jam your feet inside the stirrups the reason why they have heels down and tip in stirrup is cause then you won’t get DRAGGED by a horse as if your tip is in the stirrup you can slide right out which is what you want. I just don’t wanna see people hurt❤️
I just try to land on my feet if I can’t I let go of the reigns when I fall so I don’t hurt the horses mouth and when I hit the ground I immediately get up and catch the horse because if the reigns go over the horses head it can be very dangerous.
You cant let go off the reins all times as it depends on where you are, and horses are very careful as to where they put their feet. So chances of being stood on are very low
Falling off is a split second thing, sometimes you can’t process so many things in your brain to let go, most peopledon’t have the reaction time for it
I’ve had the same thing happen it was my horse needed it’s saddle flocked and slipped my girth was tight (luckily my horse stopped and I fell at halt but it can happen
I don’t know Jess...you do definitely get some naughty horses that don’t like to do as they’re told. There are plenty of instances when it is the riders fault but definitely not always. There is plenty of crazy horses out there that just don’t want anything on their backs. Always stay open to criticism in your comments and keep an open mind. You’ll learn lots by doing that. I have to much free time in this quarantine!!😂 Except for when I am doing school or at the barn I do not like school at all I would rather be doing ANYTHING else!!!!, ok now I am just rambling lol 😂!

But the reason they hold onto the reins is because people say always hold the reins so the horse don't run away

All of these incidents can be avoided with proper training
looool. I bet you never have been on a horse before.
MOST of these instances are due to the process of proper training. Not everybody is born perfect.
