I sold for Honda in 2001-2003... the S2000 redlines at over 9000rpm and the vtech opens up around 4500rpm. My favorite part about the S2000 is that is is balanced front to back so it doesn’t over-steer and it doesn’t under-steer it just grips the road and if it loses traction all four wheels lose traction equally which makes it very easy to correct and feels easy to control even when it’s out of control.

@10:00 My brother supercharged his s2000 and it hit a 12 second quarter mile lol . Pretty quick when a stock 2020 hellcat does an 11 second quarter mile .
I've had the pleasure of driving these once and it lives in the 10k rpm's. That engine performs outstandingly at 13,000 rpm's when that power band kicks in and the sound is intoxicating, as it the feel of the short gear shifter that has that satisfying soft, yet pronounced feel as you go through the gears.
Wheeler dealers fixed one of these roughly 8-10 years ago and I fell in love with them but after the show you couldn’t get a half decent one unless you had bottomless pockets, the guy who sold it bought it back after they fixed the engine that’s how much he loved it
I had a 1988 Honda CRX 2-seater. Oh, how I loved that car! It got 45 MPG highway and handled beautifully. Fit all of our camping gear. Such a joy to drive. Wish I still had it.

Hey Scott just bought a Darrell Waltrip edition Toyota Tundra had it for a couple months since January NO problems but a oil change! I’d love to see you do a review on those trucks thank you! Love this channel
When I was working at Harbor City Honda back in 2001, the finance guy there asked me if I had millions and could have any car I wanted, what would I get. I said the S2000 because it was everything it ought to be and the price tag was nowhere near what other cars in that class of driving would cost. Why pay more? That thing is light as a cardboard box, tiny enough for me to push it myself as a 5'2 130lb female. The interior is so tight around the driver it almost feels like a little claustrophobic or like a cockpit of a fighter jet, like the car is wrapped around you. When I got into it, the very first thing I noticed was the tachometer on the dash because it was so BLACK! It didn't have a line of red color tracing the right side of the gauge the way other cars did. It was like a minimalist clock, uniform empty space between the numbers indicating rpm. I finally realized it looked odd to me because the thing had just the tiniest segment all the way at the right that was barely there to indicate where the engine would "red line". Where most cars had red areas that were at least the whole last quarter or a third of the gauge that didn't even go higher than 7 or 8k, the red line on the S2000 STARTED at 9,000 rpm and only a tenth of the total range, which we couldn't even sample half of on the freeway. It's a beast, and it's beautiful to look at, too. I really enjoyed the one test drive I took someone on in it, but it was the fastest lap of that route I ever took! And even today, should I ever make the kind of money to buy a car that is my dream vehicle, it's STILL the early S2000. If you ever see me behind the wheel of that sleek little silver two seater, know that I probably could have bought a really expensive flashy piece of ridiculousness that usually appeals to men in middle age, but that practical beast is my dream car, and yes, it will probably cost me a fortune to get one now, especially after people see this video!
@@SnickterP Well i have an 8gen 1.8 Civic 2008 5door in black and the car is fantastic so yeah i can tell you they are. But after a while driving you want some more power so im saving for the Si.
The S2000 isn't about raw acceleration, but as far as totally immersive driving experiences go, it is pretty hard to beat. Not only does the engine love to rev, but it is connected to one of the best shifting manual transmissions ever made. The engine and transmission reside in a great handling, small car with the classic FR configuration. The S2000 demands your involvement to get the best out of it, but that's the beauty of this car. It rewards you for your involvement time and again. It's a sports car, pure and simple - a great one at that. That doesn't mean the S2000 is for everyone. Plenty of drivers don't enjoy winding out their engines and don't like shifting so much. Many want more torque and/or transmissions allowing them to use their fingers to shift instead of their hand and feet. That's alright as there aren't enough S2000's to go around for those who want them these days anyway
Some people just want to make profit, keep them garaged without putting miles on them to sell later. What's funny is that, ever since prices went up like crazy in 2021 I haven't seen a S2000 on the road lmao. People are driving them even less to sell for more after.
Looks good ... Scotty I just brought back out a 2014 3.7 Mustang that sat for 9 months of Canadian winter This is the 4th year it sat out for winter despite having a set of snow tires stored ... started it up after recharging the battery it runs like it did 5 years ago still today it was bought new but no car runs like it was brand new ... but it only has 115,000 kilometers and the sound from the engine and exhaust makes you forget other pretenders. This Mustang has a very short turning circle so cornering is fun but 2nd gear in this 6 speed really moves this old sled ... plus running in 6th gear can be done at interstate speed burning only 9 liters of gas per 100 kilometers...I love your bits
My younger brother just bought a clean pristine blue 2006 S2000 a few months ago. Far from the most powerful engine, but still a fun car to drive and ride in
I've always been a car guy, but never a brand fanboy. That is until I found Honda. I'm about to put one of these engines in a 98 integra. I'm VERY excited. 😁
@@motochris5459 ah. I actually misspoke. I'm not very familiar with the s2000. I thought the 2 litre they used was a k20. Lol so. No. I'm k swapping my integra. I got into Hondas about 2 years ago, and for the money, you can't beat the power you can get out of these things. I came across a complete k 20 setup out of a wrecked car, so I put the b20 on the back burner. I can simply drop that k20 in and have the same power I planned to have with the k20 after mods.
I’m 31 and the First manual I drove was a 1986/87 CRX my grandma had. She loved that thing so much I gave her so much anxiety driving it lol. She gave it to my uncle a few years ago when her knees got too bad to shift. It’s gone to die in the great rust belt, in northern Ohio. Rip grandma Judy and that all original red CRX (with no power steering!) that was so reliable only rust or an accident could kill it...good memories :)
I bought my 2005 AP2 (GPW with Tan interior) in 2008 and I feel the same exhilaration each time I drive it. It has 60K miles now and I believe it will be the retirement car I had originally thought it would be.
I agree with the statement: Hondas can take anything. I once ran an Xr100r (Dirt bike) without oil after the drain bolt got struck by a rock. I kept pushing it for 10 mins and it kept going. After I fixed the bolt and it ran amazing.
Wow this is probably the 2nd Honda S2000 I have ever seen Scotty, I saw one on display at a Honda dealer in Cartersville, Georgia when my mom traded in her 2002 Honda Accord Ex for the 2007 Honda Accord she got rid of back in 2019, and I instantly fell in love of it between this, Chevy Camaro, Nissan Z, Mazda Miata/Roadster, and Ford Mustang probably one of my favorite sports cars ever, but yeah this Honda is more like a Camaro and Mustang inside of Z and Accord. 😁
I pushed for all my siblings to drive a manual. My first car was, my sisters first car was and my little brother's car was as well. My grandmother, my mom, her BF also owned/drive manual. It has to be a thing in our family. We love cars.

Yea,,,,I’ve seen very clean original ones with 40-50k miles going for about $25,000 to $27,500,,,,but that was back in 2018,,,today they are up approximately another 15-25% more.
@10:00 My brother supercharged his s2000 and it hit a 12 second quarter mile lol . Pretty quick when a stock 2020 hellcat does an 11 second quarter mile .
i love how much Scotty is roasting the new supra
I've had the pleasure of driving these once and it lives in the 10k rpm's. That engine performs outstandingly at 13,000 rpm's when that power band kicks in and the sound is intoxicating, as it the feel of the short gear shifter that has that satisfying soft, yet pronounced feel as you go through the gears.
For a second I thought scotty was going to do a backflip into the car’s engine
1:50
IF HE DID A BACK FLIP THERE WOULD BE ONLY ONE PLACE FOR HIM TO LAND, THE TRUNK!
Scotty props up the value of my S2K once again!!! Love this man!
Mine has 245k miles and still going strong!🤙🤘
5:36 That 9000rpm sounds beautiful
Spot on Scotty. Mine has 130k but drives like it was born yesterday. Watch the oil on the AP1 and she'll not disappoint.
Wheeler dealers fixed one of these roughly 8-10 years ago and I fell in love with them but after the show you couldn’t get a half decent one unless you had bottomless pockets, the guy who sold it bought it back after they fixed the engine that’s how much he loved it
That car has a very sweet sound! Not crazy loud, but C L E A N !!
I had a 1988 Honda CRX 2-seater. Oh, how I loved that car! It got 45 MPG highway and handled beautifully. Fit all of our camping gear. Such a joy to drive. Wish I still had it.
I understand completely. Mine was an 1989 that I bought new that year. I regret selling it.
I had the 1984 Honda CRX. sold it last year with over 300k. Bought my 05 s2k in 2016. Took them both to the Tail of the Dragon two years ago. LOLOL. Got some great pictures.
Hey Scott just bought a Darrell Waltrip edition Toyota Tundra had it for a couple months since January NO problems but a oil change! I’d love to see you do a review on those trucks thank you! Love this channel
That motorcycle part got me Scotty 🤣
I own an AP1 model. I never want to get rid of it
When I was working at Harbor City Honda back in 2001, the finance guy there asked me if I had millions and could have any car I wanted, what would I get.
Hope i can get my Dohc vtec 2.0 NA Si in the Next 12 months, vids like this make me consider no other brand for a zippy Daily.
I do think those 2006-2011 Si’s are some of the best daily material there is
@@SnickterP Well i have an 8gen 1.8 Civic 2008 5door in black and the car is fantastic so yeah i can tell you they are.
Jesus I don't know how people can sell such a beautiful car. God, I just don't know why...
Some people just want to make profit, keep them garaged without putting miles on them to sell later. What's funny is that, ever since prices went up like crazy in 2021 I haven't seen a S2000 on the road lmao. People are driving them even less to sell for more after.
The cash bro
I put 160k miles into my 2006 S2000 and still going. No regrets.
Should have mentioned the super fast soft top, I think it took 6 seconds to automatically close.
I saw one in League City just today. Took a picture of it. Never seen one before.
Jeste taj auto je dragulj. Dva sjedišta dugi prednji kraj motor je dijamant cijele autoindustrije i savršen dizajn.
Those Honda S2000s were awesome sports cars.
Looks good ...
Scotty I just brought back out a 2014 3.7 Mustang that sat for 9 months of Canadian winter
This is the 4th year it sat out for winter despite having a set of snow tires stored ... started it up after recharging the battery it runs like it did 5 years ago still today it was bought new but no car runs like it was brand new ... but it only has 115,000 kilometers and the sound from the engine and exhaust makes you forget other pretenders. This Mustang has a very short turning circle so cornering is fun but 2nd gear in this 6 speed really moves this old sled ... plus running in 6th gear can be done at interstate speed burning only 9 liters of gas per 100 kilometers...I love your bits
I'll make do with my jdm prelude. How about a video on a lude scotty?
Sounds like the famous Billman did the retainer update on this one.
Like my ‘00. Hope to be enjoying it for many years to come.
Always loved the S2000 one of the best sports cars ever made!
One of the best driving car ever made
My younger brother just bought a clean pristine blue 2006 S2000 a few months ago. Far from the most powerful engine, but still a fun car to drive and ride in
Also, he bought it for $12k.
Wow…… he literally stole it….. its gonna be worth >$100k guaranteed
Love my 00 Berlin's black no defrost or front tweeters. Just a purr bread racecar😎💪
My 00 is a beast too. Only has 44k on it. And its black like yours!
@@abrahamfabela8457 yessss!!!
I've always been a car guy, but never a brand fanboy. That is until I found Honda. I'm about to put one of these engines in a 98 integra. I'm VERY excited. 😁
That would be quite a feat, one being front wheel drive and the other rear wheel drive.
Original Owner of a RED 2003 S2K and I love it!
Keep bringing the Honda stuff Scotty i love it , Im building a k20z3 8th gen Si as we speak !

8000 RPM? I'm just getting started 😈
Where I live they’re going for about $35-40k with about 90k km on them
Where do you live? I need to sell my S2000 there when I get my GT4 allocation. 😁
@@Love2Cruise Vancouver, BC
Saw a gorgeous red one down on west beach in Galveston the other day.
The S2000 is such a great car. I never understood why there were so few drivers in the market for this vehicle.
I love S2's to this day. Would love to get one.
Not a single mention of titanium connecting rods??? Pretty cool very few production motors with those before Honda did it on the S2K......
My 2001 S2000 was my favorite car. By a wide margin.
The best time to buy was 20 years ago like I did. Enjoyed all those years of driving, and now I can sell it for what I paid!
I only drive manuals, and it sucks because everyone is starting to want them now and there's not many of them left
I've never been into the S2000 but at least you can find a used one of these that's in original condition. That's almost impossible to do with a CRX.
You can but it’s getting harder and harder.
Scotty, you couldn't get one at all in the UK ,
Scotty is so happy with this S200 till he has forgot he had viewed one way back in houston as well
The guy got a beautiful car. Timing and location were definitely on his side. He should buy a lottery ticket.
Glad I picked one up a few months back.
do the 90's nsx please and thank you.
Ron Swanson?
Bump
I love my Supercharged s2000, bought mines back in 14 and it will stay in my garage as long as GOD will allow me to enjoy that beast
Nice color on that also looks good. One lucky guy that bought that.
I wouldn't let my kids drive till they started driving on a standard shift first
Spot on!!!👍👍👏👏
I pushed for all my siblings to drive a manual. My first car was, my sisters first car was and my little brother's car was as well. My grandmother, my mom, her BF also owned/drive manual. It has to be a thing in our family. We love cars.
