Many thanks!!! Great video. Using it to install our unit this weekend in master bath. If we like it, I will surely “need” one for my bathroom too, and will certainly purchase from y’all.
Great video!, but may i have two questions, first what is that washlet model number? and next question is you mentioned in video, including auto flushing system, how to operating the auto flushing in this unit? Thank you!
Thanks for watching! This is the TOTO S550e washlet, however its recently been replaced by the S7A Washlet. Auto-flushing is a breeze, you can program when you want it to flush or even disable it if you want to turn the feature off.
Hi Daniel, My auto flush on my nexus with washlet 550e doesn’t work consistently. It does auto flush but not every time after use. What can we do to fix it? Is there option to auto raise the seat as needed after the lid auto open? Does Toto sell adaptive children toilet seat for little kid? If not, will it cause any sensory damage to the seat itself if we place one on? Thank you very much for all your straight to the point informative, honest and helpful videos!
Thanks for asking! The auto flush should work every time. If you want to reach out to us with your order number with us, we can file a warranty claim with TOTO on your behalf. There is an option to raise the seat on the top of the remote. If you don't see it, whoever installed your auto flush did so incorrectly, and did not put the proper top on the remote. There is no adaptive children's toilet seat made by TOTO that I'm aware of. I would worry about scratches to the seat should one be used. Hopefully you found this helpful!! Thanks for reaching out!!
What is you're not mounting it on solid wood. We have a floating floor that the toilet will sit on. Do you drill down through the floor to the underlayment wood?
Very valid point! We've installed toilets like this on tile as well. A few tricks worth considering: First make sure you have a drill bit designed to drill into tile. TOTO provides anchors to insert into these holes. Secondly, put some painters tape down and drill through the tape. This helps to keep your drill bit from sliding around so you get a nice clean hole. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Washlet+ toilets can be used as a standard toilet with a standard toilet seat. You will have the hole in the back for where the bidet/washlet cords usually route. So that is sometimes not customers preference. The Nexus is made as a standard toilet without the washlet+ hole if that was the plan from the beginning.
We like both, but personally use the rubber rings as we're often changing out toilets, and they are cleaner. We've never had a single issue with leaking.
Just installed ours thanks to your video! Is it normal for a little bit of wiggle up and down. Only when we lift up would it do this. Not when we apply downward pressure.
It is normal to have a bit of wiggle. If you're concerned about it, I'd recommend checking out a local show room, and seeing how the wiggle on their washlet+ units compares to the wiggle on yours. That will help you determine if your seat is properly installed.
10:43 The bidet socket has a special connector. How could I add a water filter for less calcium between the T connector and the Bidet socket? Thanks. Is the socket 1/2", by the way?
Absolutely! The cord and hose will just be visible. If you have a skirted toilet already, I'd recommend looking at the Eco Nova bidet seat: www.manybidets.com/product/eco-nova-bidet-seat/ for a sleek look and feel, and good bad for your buck.
Unfortunately, anything under 11.5" is going to be too tight. You could try an offset flange to help get that extra bit of room or look at an option that comes with a 10" rough in size (Drake or Aquia are good options)
Nope! You just connect it to your standard cold water line, and the unit takes care of the rest. We sell the entire line and offer competitive pricing should you decide to get one.
The two side blocks do not have pre-drilled holes. When we put side screws, these look like they go into those side blocks. Should we first pre-drill pilot holes into those side blocks? I feel directly putting those large side screws will crack the plastic side block.
The blocks do not have predrilled holes, and are not designed to. TOTO does not recommend drilling holes into the blocks. While it would seem like the plastic might crack, to date we've never seen that happen, and due to the fact that TOTO does not suggest drilling holes in the brackets, I'm assuming they rarely if ever see an issue like that either. Great question!!
We always recommend trying a hard reset by unplugging the unit for at least 60 minutes and plugging it back in. Checking your electrical outlet for power as well or plugging the bidet into a different outlet to test are other good steps to take. If you are still having issues, reaching out to the manufacturer directly will be best.
We just purchased a washlet+ toilet and didnt realize it required a special model of bidet. Can we still install our (current) SW3036 ? I know we wont be able to hide the hose or cord but having a hard time figuring out if thats the only ramification
You can absolutely still install it! You are correct, there are only a few ramifications: 1. The cord and hose will be visible. 2. You won't be able to install auto flush Aside from these two items, you'll be just fine!
Great video! Last year in a bathroom reno, the plumber did not rotate the Tee Connector so the washlet hose is sticking out in plain view to the left of our mostly skirted Toto Vespin II bowl. If I shut the water off and flush until it is out of the tank, can I, at this point, disconnect the water supply and try to rotate the Tee Connector myself and reconnect the hose, or would I need an entirely new hose and o-ring? Installation was 9 months ago. But maybe I should have a plumber do it and test it for leaks? What do you think? A second bath reno is coming up!
If you follow the proper steps (as you listed out above) I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to do exactly what you're trying to do without any negative side effects. You should be able to turn the water supply off, drain the tank, reposition things, and reconnect without needing to pick anything else up. Hope this helps!
I am updating my bathroom so i have the wall exposed so i can run a new outlet to the toilet. What about hot water? Does the seat warm up cold water or is there a seat that can use hot water line?
There are a few different reasons we've seen this happen. Normally when this happens it's because either the flange is too low, and you really should be using 2 wax rings, or the toilet is cracked somewhere that is causing a leak. If the issue is simply due the the flange, the fix is easy. Take the toilet off, put two wax rings on instead of one, and reinstall. If the issue is due to a cracked toilet, at that point, you'll need to reach out to whoever you purchased from to see about how they handle replacing the toilet. In the future, if you're ever looking for another one, reach out to us for a great deal!
Hello Daniel. Thanks so much for this informative Toto video. Does the flange adapter have to be perfectly symmetrical to the drain pipe? I need to install my Toto toilet about 2cm to the right of the centerline of the existing drain pipe. My contractor tells me it is impossible to do this as the adapter has to be perfectly aligned to the wall as well as being perpendicular to a straight line passing through both openings in the flange adapter. This has become a major issue on my remodel and he has offered no solution. I hope you can help. Thanks!
If I understand your statement correctly, because the adapter has to be bolted down to the flange, the adaptor does need to be lined up with said flange, which would then mean the toilet would have to be installed at an angle of the flange is not straight. If this is what your contactor is saying, I agree... :-/ If you would like to send some pics over, I'd be happy to review and give additional feedback if we're able to come up with a workaround.

I had no template, and the waste pipe flange was rotated and installed wrong. None of the flange bolts would work as the flange was so worn and busted. Luckily some tapcons did the trick.

I have a Toto Nexus 1G that needed this kind of installation. I had to remove the toilet and those plastic things that keep the toilet from moving side to side have holes in them from the initial installation. Is it ok to reuse the same mounting blocks when reinstalling or would I have to get replacements? If so, do you know where I would be able to buy them? Thanks.
Hi Daniel, we have a Toto smart toilet with the skirted bowl and flange adapter that we had installed about a year ago. We are getting some sewer gas smell. Is this an issue you have run into before and what is the best way to diagnose where it is coming from and how to fix? I believe we used a wax ring, but can the rubber ring on the top of the flange adapter be replaced? Thanks for your help!
To date I have not heard of this happening. However, in my opinion, I think you're heading in the right direction. The adaptor is easy enough to replace, and should be replaced if the rubber looks like it's going bad. Again, to date I've not seen that be an issue, but it's worth checking. I would assume that if you take the toilet off, it will be clear where the problem is. As long as it's not cracked porcelain, the fix should be fairly easy
I have the new toto Carlyle toilet and the Toto Sw3084 washlet. Is it still possible to install the washlet water hose through the hole? The bracket is longer than the one in the video, obstructing almost half of the hole. Can I still put the hose in the hole or is there an adapter that can be used? Thanks!
In addition to the Toto S550e Bidet seat that has the cord and hose coming differently which allows it to be routed through the big hole in the toilet large hole, are there any other bidet seat that have that same cord and hose configuration coming that way?. I am asking as I am buying a Kohler K23188-HO-O that has the same large hole to accept the cords and conceal them. I do not want to see the cords if I buy the wrong bidet seat..So I was thinking buying the S550e but I wonder if other brands have also a configuration thta totally conceals the cords if routed through the large hole on toilet ceramic
Thanks for asking! We have, to date not tested the TOTO Washlet+ seats with other brands of toilets to see how they work. I could see the other brands working with these washlets if the hole was in the proper location, but since we've not tested them, I can not guarantee that it would work. Your best bet would be to get a seat, and try it yourself. If you were to get one from us, you could return it if it was not installed and didn't work.
