I'm a 51 year old male from OK. I first saw XG on YT in March 24 in a YT short of Shooting Star First Take. This was before Woke Up. I WAS FREAKING AMAZED. I then went down the rabbit hole, just like you're doing now. I loved every single song at first watch. I then watched the documentary XTRA XTRA. I fell in love with them even more because of the hard work they put in from 2017 to 2022 trying to be XG. Blood, sweat and tears!!! I look at them as my daughters and am SO FREAKING PROUD of them and Simon. Simon was part of a KPop group called the Dalmations, which changed to DMTN, which disbanded between 2012 and 2014. You should check out their E.R. and Safety Zone. Simon had a dream about creating a global girl group and it's coming true. He was a second father to these ladies and it shows. He taught them so much. There is also a ton of behind the scenes footage which show who these ladies reallly are. They are so humble, sweet and kind. I pray only for the best things for XG. THEY DESERVE EVERY POSITIVE THING THEY GET.
Eventually you will find out that XG is essentially a dance crew that happens to sing and rap like legends, a step above the rest literally and metaphorically. Their Moves introduced me to XG since I never followed K-Pop. The remix led me to this drop, and I fell in love with them ever since.
My interest was sparked on TikTok with Cocona. After liking every post of the song I came across. I went on TH-cam and went down the rabbit hole. I fell in love with her and the other Six Alphas. When I talk to people that are closed minded about them they think it’s a weird attraction because I’m 40. This love of their music as a HipHop lover and fan of music it is a strong respect an admiration for them and seeing them behind the music and dance they are true Lovely people that I wish I would have or known now. Their bond is strong. I Love the WuTang Clan and many other artist from the past and I put them right up their with all of them. 🐺! For Life Baby! ✌🏽
first XG song that got me on this path was shooting star, not long afrer it was released, really the lyrics and how they delivered them, it all seemed so personal, not just empty song lyrics - ‘all these shooting stars in the dark’, true cause nobody knew about them, ‘put in work like it’s a habbit’, ‘we do it for our team’, ‘working overtime no days off’, it just felt like were talking about their journey so I was hooked, there is something special with this group
Just to put into perspective how good their dance skills are: Hyoyeon, the main dancer of SNSD (Girls Generation- a 2nd generation kpop girl group, 1 of the most respected & famous ones), who is still regarded as 1 of the best dancers in all the kpop industry (a living legend), with a ton of experience (she is 35 y old), when asked in 2023, on a talk show I think, if she were to select idols from the industry to form a dance team to compete in the "Street Woman Fighter" (a rly famous dance show), she chose: Lisa of Blackpink (who doesn't know Lisa...), Momo of Twice (another amazing dancer), Chung Ha (probably the best solo girl dance performer in the present, among all girl singers in the kpop industry) & Jurin & Cocona of XG. So yeah...even if they're not kpop, to be mentioned & to be recognized by such a legend & be put on the same lvl as Lisa, rly speaks volumes about their skills & talent.
I am an IU UAENA. I was searching for IU MVs and came across VOX#3 with Juria early October 2022. Two years later I admin an XG FB group, watched everything repeatedly and have briefly seen them all across a table at a post show. As a 65 year old I love all of my adopted granddaughters, Juria is still my favourite.
I found XG with their actual debut of Tippy Toes mainly because a lot of the reactors i checked out at the time had checked out their debut so I watched when other reactors watched. On my own I watched their Tape #2. My initial favorite visually was Harvey and Jurin but after Tape #2 I became a huge Maya bias. As more started to come out my bias became everyone especially after I watched their Documentary. I was watching when we had to wait for the next episode to drop so I really go all the way back with XG. My bias is still Maya to this day for sure, but I honestly LOVE every member so much!
1st song was Tape#2!!! BTW Tapes/mov's and vox are all so the members can keep their individuality and do projects they want to do. It also keeps us fans fed!!!!!!
This choreo was performed by the LAB with main Choreographer Sienna Laulau. I was so shocked when The LAB as a dance crew for their show shared this choreo to XG… normally girl groups get a watered down concept for showcases. But this one was actually performed by the LAB and XG covered the actual choreo.
Move #1 is how I discovered XG. I legit thought they were a professional dance crew cus they move like female Jabawockeez. This is their pre-debut dance video. There's another version of it with their masks off. They also have individual MOVE short vids that showcase each member's dance style - for example, Jurin and Cocona are hiphop

XG was well trained for years. Beside vocal, rap, and dance lessons, one major part of their training process is them literally perform live underground performances to gain experiences and confidence. Simon Jakops, the man who trained them for years, aka their father figure, understand that an artist must be able to perform live especially at 1-2 hours concert with CONFIDENCE. So, during their trainee years (they started training at age of around 12 to 16 years old with their parents permission), he not only teach them, he carefully discipline them making sure that they have the right mindset without negatively impact their self esteem. So yeah, XG is not kidding when they said he is a father figure to them because he literally took care of them since they were teens in South Korea while their families are back in Japan. 🥹
