But Hip-Hop and RnB can be found in almost all of their songs in some way. And yes they choose to make most of their songs in English which makes them a global group. But they aren’t completely detached from K-pop because they were trained in that system. So they’re adjacent to K-pop.

They don't self-produce afaik, although you do see in their BTS videos that they do get to have their input. I think they have a lot more freedom on their solo tapes and at least a couple have started writing their own lyrics and learning the production side of things. If you're looking for a self-produced GG, try G-idle. The story goes their label was so broke they couldn't hire a songwriter, so rather than wait around and never debut, their leader Soyeon wrote and produced Latata which ended up being an absolute banger. They have a completely different sound to XG but they're also super unique and 🔥🔥🔥
