The haters can eat shit. You guys are great! These are tough to rank: S - Descendents, Pennywise A - Lagwagon, Bad Religion B - Sum 41, LTJ C - Frenzal, Propagandhi D - NOFX, Offspring
You guys just popped up in my Algorithm... Wish i had a group of friends to do this with looks fun! If i was in this group i would appreciate and respect your guys opinions but would be the black sheep of the group with the rankings lol! I'll definitely be subbing 🤘🏼
A lot of love for Less Than Jake here. I have never been able to get into them much, beyond the odd song. I prolly need to give an album or two a good listen.
I need to listen to some of these again, but #Pennywise would easily be my first S tier. I am sure I'd have Bad Religion and Offspring higher than most.
RESET - No Worries punk band from Quebec who released 2 records but broke up and formed simple plan.... Reset was an amazing punk band and no worries is one of the best skate punk albums ever made ... Have you heard of Reset? Listen to Reset- united we stand tall
This was a fun one fellas. Tossing out a more blind ranking without getting deep into each record. S - Descendents/LTJ A - Pennywise/Propagandhi B - Bad Religion/Lagwagon C - Sum 41 (Could never get into these guys)/Offspring D - NOFX/Frenzal Rhomb (Sorry dudes, I just can't get into FR)
24:37 "there's good songs but it's hard to listen to. it sounds like ass" that's sooo many first records from great bands, specially in the 80's. i would love bad religion to re-record part III. love the song. hate the recording
@@slunk1236 Well that's clearly not true. But they all seem to have a dislike for any recordings that aren't super polished production-wise, which is just really odd when it comes to punk rock. I mean sure, I too want a minimum amount of clarity in the recording, being able to distinctly hear all instruments. But they seem to always want perfect pop punk production á la Enema Of The State. And to go back to The Offspring's first album - it does sound raw, but you can hear everything perfectly fine. So to me the sound is perfect for a punk record.
I personally don't need Enema level production, production matters less to me than songwriting and personality. I think there is a difference between raw production and amateur production though. Raw is meant to leave in the imperfections to create authenticity, which is very punk. Amateur production is an attempt to mix things well but just not being capable of doing so. I feel some of these sound raw and some sound amateur, and it's obviously they wanted a more clean sound because by their next albums, they abandoned that production style. I think amateur production is sometimes charming, but I wouldn't say it's good, not that you can't find it good. Also most of our introduction to punk was in the later stages of these 80s and 90s bands. My first Bad Religion record was "The Empire Strikes First", The first Descendents record I heard was "Cool To Be You". So this is definitely the production style we grew to love. Not that I don't appreciate 80s hardcore and absolutely love The Dead Kennedys, The Misfits & Descendents. Thanks for watching - Elliot
I'm totally a stan for The Offspring's first album, Tehran, Beheaded, Kill The President, Elders & Demons all rock! The only song I liked on Let The Bad Times Roll felt like a modern take at this era, Hassan Chop. Also Liberal Animation is garbage, but Maximum Rocknroll is awesome!
I went back and listened to #MiloGoesToCollege recently, and yeah, man the lyrics in places are lame. Some good songs, but has sat in an elevated postition that is overrated in my mind. It was not as good as I remember or thought it was.
I wouldn't call them lame, rather they didn't age well. It was the early 80s and they were teenage boys, so no surprises there. But overall the album is still great. And whether one likes the album or not, the impact and influence it had on 90s Punk music is undeniable.
Wow Offspring in D tier painful
Excellent album
I personally don't think it's a D tier album, just by comparison, i had to drop it in D. It's much better than Liberal Animation.
The haters can eat shit. You guys are great!
These are tough to rank:
S - Descendents, Pennywise
A - Lagwagon, Bad Religion
B - Sum 41, LTJ
C - Frenzal, Propagandhi
D - NOFX, Offspring
🤝
Swap Descendants with Propagandhi and Frenzel with Bad Religion and you’ve got a decent list.

Good list. Looking forward to the latest albums episode from
These bands

Hell yeah man, appreciate that! The newest records from each band will be Friday!
Milo Goes to college is in my top 10 favorite punk records of all time
Tehran on the first offspring records is an awesome song

You should do a punk three album run tierlist
Dookie insomniac nimrod
Would be interesting to do, we were gonna do just a top five 3 album runs, but a tier list could be fun
@@PunkRockRadar 🔥
First five Pennywise albums are basically perfect with Unknown Road being my fav!
Maybe a hot take but I think Less Talk, More Rock is a better album than How to Clean Everything.
Elders, from The Offspring self titled is amazing. That album has a bunch of good songs, ‘I’ll be waiting’ is also dope.
lists will always be subjective to the value of their place in your timeline. theres no wrong answers.
Can't believe Milo only made 1 S-tier 😵💫
I need to listen to some of these again, but #Pennywise would easily be my first S tier. I am sure I'd have Bad Religion and Offspring higher than most.

Yeah! Quebec always had great skatepunk bands.
AFI debut is petty great.
We did that on a previous episode. This is technically a part 2 video. And yes, it's one of the best debuts.
Looking at the YT comments under Bad Religion's debut, and Dylan's not wrong. It's like 1 in 3 comments calling it their best.

BR re recorded several of those 80s songs during the demo sessions of Suffer and its a very good look at what could have been
@@TolietWater i didn't know that! very cool. i'm gonna look for them
Milo is EASILY the best album there
I'm sympathetic with most of this, but the treatment of Milo Goes to College was tragic. No one mentioned Myage, Bikeage, or Jean Is Dead!
The Offspring's first record is awesome, I really don't understand the hate for it. It sounds raw and amazing. One of my favorites of theirs.
They all have terrible taste in music
The first 2 Offspring albums are straight gas
They don't like punk.

Sum 41 being an EP or an album..... well let's just say it makes no difference to me... D Tier for sure

@@ergoth154 No you're thinking Dexter also in the D Tier
this is more a pop punk tierlist than a punk rock one
The weird tension between Elliot and Dylan sometimes is cringe lol
He was reading off a hate comment, we were talking about before the video lol
the sexual tension between them is crazy, like just move to Florida already Elliot
@ImmortalCoil_ He needs to move up here, I'm not ready to settle down and retire
Dylan isnt the kinda guy id hang around
@DrewMarino1995 well then, I didn't wanna hang out with you anyway 😒
