This was truly great - thanks for sharing!! Reminds me of a story my late mother used to tell me about how the boss where she worked in the 1950s actually drove in every day in a vintage Bentley. I can see the appeal now.
Excellent video, I drove down (albeit in a BMW 740) to the 2003 le mans when no's 7&8 came in first and second, I still have the Bentley Boys hat I purchased, there was a procession of old Bentley's then, probably most of these in the video were there, I had no idea of the shear size of these old cars, I'm sure we stayed at the Mercure hotel in this video as well. The "Tory" wives in this video were also just wonderful.
As you can see fellow viewers these Bentley gentlemen & ladies are all in various states of barking mad ! Long may they continue to invest time & money in these wonderful machines and share their adventures so we can enjoy.
Of all the car videos I have watched and will watch again, I keep returning to this video most of all. The quality, content and cars are all first rate...top drawer, as they say. I wonder if they'll be doing it all over again in 2017 for the 90th anniversary?
My Pa followed the team round before the war, he wandered into the Mercedes pit & marvelled at the surgical cleanliness in comparison to Bentley's setup...!
That was the last time the old car scene was'nt overflowed by the so called speciials like today, built on rolling chassis of many defunct british makes!
Cool video. Great to see them being driven as they were originally intended & not museum'd up!

However it was a Bentley which won, not a Mercedes. Innovative techniques like filming the practice pit-stops no doubt helped.
Godspeed and Rest in Peace Mr. Wiltshire and Mr. Judd.
Will they do a 90th celebration next year? I sure do hope so.
So - did they make another run this year? It's a year ending in 7, so they should have.
Goggles for the ladies in the rear!
And blankets!
