Thank you !!!!! Finally someone who just does the job and doesn’t talk about random shit for 10 minutes. ! Great video Looking forward to more ram videos
John as always you have a way of making preventative maintenance seem so effortless and easy. Thanks again for all that you do to help others like me with our trucks. Continued blessings. Sam
Dealership wanted $85 for one litre of 75w85 oil! Only ones that have that specific weight is redline and dodge. I just went with 75w90. Readily available everywhere and $25 a litre.
I didn't know you had a video covering the front differential. But I know now. And did you make a video covering the 4wd service in a Ram 1500 ? Thanks
John..... have you done the 4th Gen ( I have a 2016 5.7 4x4) transfer case fluid vid? I thought you did but can't find it. What fluid do you recommend for someone who tows with all wheel drive always on. You think front and rear diff needs to be changed at 73k?
Strange. I drained out about one quart is all but the real strange thing is that only 3/4 of a quart went back in and it started to come out. The oil I put in was not warmed up. Could there be that much expansion difference?

At 2 :14 you said after we tighten the fill bolt you can now start filling thru the fill hole I dont think that's possible after that first step lol dont know if anyone else noticed
Lol I did but I didn’t wanna be that guy and be like “ how can we tighten the full bolt and then start filling thru the hole if we just tightened it 😂😂😂
Ya diff fluid stinks lol and some idiot was digging through my truck and I did have dirt crap in a gadarad bottle lol and I think the junky drank some lol

No thread sealant?
Appreciate the continued video uploads!
What’s the spec on the bolts? Great video thanks
Do you need thread sealer or RTV for the fill and drain plugs?

Very helpful thanks
Is it good practice to use primer & paint for rust prevention? I did it for rear differential.
Nice video where do I find the spects for tightening the plugs?
Thanks!
Nice intro music, very informative video.
No rtv?

I noticed all 75w 90 have lsd modified additive in it, can we still add that to our front diff??
That valvoline fluid u got says it has lsd fluid included, does the front diff even need it?
What are the torque specs on the diff fill plug and drain plug? 35 pounds?
Accidentally drank one of those damn bottles of gear oil thinking it was koolaid (my wife put them in the fridge for some reason)

Can you do a video on a transfer case fluid change please
How offen should front and rear differential oil be changed
Depends what you're doing with it
How have you like that 3/8 ratchet tool?
Def need to do both diffs on my '13
At How many miles this need done ?
What oil did you use?
FFS's another me, me, look what I have in my shop video🙄. I reckon the krap you show off compensates for what you don't have😋😉
How many pouches did you use
What size socket or Allen wrench do you need to remove the plugs?
8mm for the front, 14mm for the back
How much ft lbs you torque the seal ?
Strange. I drained out about one quart is all but the real strange thing is that only 3/4 of a quart went back in and it started to come out. The oil I put in was not warmed up. Could there be that much expansion difference?
Diff isn’t level
What size are the rear differential bolts
Owner manual states 75w-85 on 4WD models. All I’m seeing is redline. Is that a good product?

What year ram truck is that?
Also is it the same fluid in the front and rear differentials?
No, different viscosity. Rear diff requires LSD additive.
I bet having the bumper off made that way easier
I have air suspension and even at its highest height, it's still a tough fit for me @ 160 lbs laying right on the ground.

My 2012 1500 is a sealed unit. How do I change it?
Same, did you figure it out?
@@AndreC1992 nope. Lol
@@deanlang3894 you have to buy an aftermarket cover with fill hole to drain you just have to remove cover replace gasket
@@connerbutler1077 so, you just can take the cover off and change the fluid and put the cover back on?
@@svenb148 it should have a drain plug.. you have to take the cover off to drain it then fill it up through drain plug
Does front diff need to be changed as much as rear if you don’t use 4x4 often?
Ayee!
AYE!!!
Yessir!!
Right on first like!
weigh that truck,an tell us jon, thnx..just curious
Looks like they just changed the fluid before they sold it to you
Yeah who knows what was in it but now at least I can drive worry free for awhile 💪
