New Funko collector here. I bought an autographed Dabi from a 5-star Ebay seller for a lot of (reasonable) money recently, but when I found out the fake’s barcode still scans on the app I starteD TO PANIC. Your video allowed me to compare and confidently say that my Dabi is authentic. So thank you for the peace of mind.
I've reached the point where I don't care if it's fake or not. I'll buy a fake one if I really want it cause I can't always afford $150+ for "legitimate" pops i missed out on when I wasn't a collector

Went and got it signed by Liebrecht and JSA verified. I see fakes with signatures selling for just as much as originals without.
The Dabis didn't trick me lol, I always look at the word "animation" because the majority of times the M is different, then border around Dabi and the POP! Logo, both looked fine :D
One thing you have to consider is that it's easier for you to compare real vs fake because you have 2. Most people won't have 2 to compare the boxes, let alone the pops, especially when buying online.
The thing is even real ones is not consistent. I remember buying both of the flintstones pop (Wilma and Betty) at Funko HQ. I bought 2 each. One of pop have shiny paint and the other one have matte paint. They are the same pop and bought it the day they came out. I can’t remember which pop it was cause it’s a long time ago and i don’t have the pop anymore.
I tried to find a difference initially but they both were completely identical. You had me at the edge of my seat waiting to see which one was the fake. I was about to be extremely concerned because I have bought expensive Pops on whatnot, but not a buy it now option.
I bought a Dabi from anime expo and the vendor told me most fakes are simply QC issues since some of the molds get outsourced to China and Vietnam, which are then sold in mass at a low fee. He stated that no one is going through the trouble to outright produce a an actual fake funko pop when there’s other things like counterfeit money. Was he pulling my leg or is this true?

Pops that most people would never be able to purchase otherwise. Fake pops are great but they should absolutely let buyers know they’re fake 😅
Unfortunatlly funko itself does not has a really good quality check in their products, I have some original ones that are worst than some fake ones. Since in this case you could compare them with the original in hands, in the end this video does not make a lot of difference when you buy it online. I think if the price is way to good you can be almost certain that it's a fake in this case, but besides that there ain't much you can do, they can put the photos of the original one the sent you a fake.
Sad I have the Hero Killer Stain I got off whatnot and paid for physical verification- but my colors are more like the fake than the red you have but it does have the foot stamp like the real one and the spaces at the front bottom of the box like the real but some other colors are like the fake 🙄 so I believe mine is real but sheesh

I could tell immediately without even hitting play on your video..the white spacing around the character’s picture in the bottom left hand corner of the front of the box a dead giveaway..anytime there a bigger white area like that around it or the cut is all uneven it definitely a fake
Idk man the one in your left is real. I honestly think the one in your right hand is actually fake tbh. I know you said they both real, but look at the point of contact the hair makes over the dabis left eyebrow. Usually the tip of the hair won't touch the eyebrow and on the fakes it usually does touch. Maybe I'm thinking too much but that's kinda what I've learned. Unless all these pops differ a little bit when they're made idk 🤷♂️
recently i bought a sasuke rinnegan chase and i actually was able to tell it was fake even without a second opinion. It was just so obvious with the way it felt and even the pop's head wasnt even attached properly, I got a full refund anyway so I wasnt worried about it but still crazy to see
you make a mistake in your video when you started to talk about the sticker for Dabi, you confuse the real one vs the fake one, you might want to re-edit this video

I was thinking they both looked good but if I was suspicious of one it would be the right since the contrast was a bit darker than the left

Best way to ensure your funko pop are real is by ordering directly from funko if you want common or funko shop exclusive pops.

Usually yes but in some rare cases there have been thicker mis-cuts on authentic boxes.
