Yeah, I own a Dabi fake from Aliexpress (I wanted it but I won't spend that insane amount of money) and the only way to tell it's fake is that the images in the back are a little tiny bit blurrier than an original one. Also the paint job on the skin is a little bit darker. Other than that, it looks great on the collection

Once you submitted your report, eBay gives the seller like a 10 days period time to fix the issue by either refund you or sending you the correct item or at least contacting you to see whats wrong. In my case they (seller) completely ignored me and eBay refunded me the full amount and i didn’t had to return the items. I had a problem with a different pop and different seller before where i bought a NYCC sticker Dabi for basically shared sticker value and it came in damaged even though the pictures showed a perfect shaped one. I submitted my report with proof that it wasn’t damaged in shipping because there was no other damage not even to the sorter and the seller agreed to refund me but i had to ship the pop back to him. Note: you only have a few days after you receive your order to submit a report and it also helps to add as many pictures with the proof as you can.
Ever since, I started collecting pops I learned about fakes early on, so now especially when buying a old grail I’ll make sure I do my research to make sure everything is what it’s supposed to be

How can they make the fakes be so similar in terms of actual mould? I’ve only started collecting more recently and was very surprised how close the fakes are. I used to collect Lego years back and it was so much more obvious with them
@@macg9954 or because they're made in China to begin with, so the molds are there in their factories; so producing a few more to sell for a bit more than they're contracted for is how a lot of high quality fakes get made.
@@SirSkyro it's an ethics things, if you're happy with a rep, go for it, especially if you'll always keep it. Don't try and sell it unless it's clear that it isn't authentic, and all should be good. The main reason would be snobbery to be honest. Collectors get mad because it somehow devalues their item, this can be applied to all collecting.

I bought accidentally a Sasuke Rinnegan Chase and the only thing you can see is a lighter color on the box and build quality of the figure. Same paper, foil, fonts etc. I just noticed because of not glowing eyes. Also the box is saying Shippuden, stickers look also legit for me.
The fakes now have the correct date stamped on the box matching the one on the foot or head. Some of these fakes are indistinguishable its got me question everything I bought from Ebay. . .
I impulse bought a georgie chase from mercari. When I got it it was plain as day that it was fake. Box cut was off paint was wrong blood splatter on the box was bright red instead of dull red.....
fakes can also have matching numbers on foot and box, which even match the real equivalent; mostly fakes miss details like a necklace/eye shadow etc., or details look different; they have blurred box printing; I saw one with a CONVENTION sticker, that was actually spelled CDVENTION, which was harder to tell apart in the font that they used; I've also seen the dots in the Pop logo box missing. So when looking at photos of a pop that you want to buy on the internet, make sure to compare as much as you can to videos or pics of the real pop. Good video! 😎

I think there have been a TON of fake Mikasa and Eren Pops on Mercari lately so big watch out there. Some will be direct about it but most will not. I noticed that most of them won't show the bottom of the box; I'm thinking bc there may be no SN sticker. Just my guesses though.

Watch for the nejire hado emerald city con pop on mercari , seen multiple fakes bought and I bought one myself not knowing until I got it and it was obviously fake once I received it I was so disappointed but mercari customer service fixed it and I got my money back and they let me keep it , so I just pulled it outta box and display it the paint jobs very bad but hey why not I guess

Another thing to look out for is that Fakes will also scan into the Funko App as a normal Funko Pop.

Mainly because China has very lenient copyright laws and what not so it’s easy for them to produce items such as fakes.

I deemed my Jiraiya on Toad a fake when I noticed his mole was located more so under his headband than on his nose. 😑

Right away I could see the difference in skin tone between the 2 kakashis
Also in the fake itachi funko the eye bag lines look pink but in the original they are the regular brown 12:49

Another hint that seems to be on all the fakes is the funko logo at the front won’t have the dotted pattern where as the real ones do.

Does the printed date on the bottom garantee that its not a fake?
Not always but in some cases yes.

You have the luxury of having a real Pop to compare the fake with. A few of the signs I could check but otherwise, how am I to know?
I have bought 2 fakes when I started collecting. Metallic red hulk and holographic darth vader. Scanned into my funko app so I took it as real.
