You will now be able to run away or master him. You can also, if he point the knife on you, take the two right of left side of your two hands to punch him with it in same time on arm, near wirst. On of you hand need to be a little bit behind the other. As result, the knife (or eventually a gun) will litterally be trowed away.
What if you are in an elevator or other confined space and the attacker is between you and your exit? What if you are a slow runner and your attacker is a fast runner? Would you advise people the best tactic against attacking dogs or other predators is running away? Animal Predators love when you run and give them your back... and so do human attackers. Not to say running is never a good option, but it is very situationally dependent and your own skill at running vs your opponents skill at running is a huge factor.
