I use zap-a-gap on the red tinsel before wrapping the wire .that way mine doesn't look like yours😊 It does not effect the UV resin at all.Ihave the pearl flat braid .alaooks great thanx for the pattern. Tight lines.😉
to keep the red tinsel on top of the fly body.. here a cool trick.. before you pull the red tinsel over the fly body and tie it off.. a thin coat of clear finger nail polish will be tacky enough the hold the red tinsel in place..,, then tie it off at the head.. let dry for a min.. then counter wrap the wire over it... the red tinsel, well not move when you do this
If you want an asb version of the fly sure. But if you’re trying to get this look then it’s not going to be the same unfortunately. The asb version will likely still catch fish just a different match then what these are. Thanks for watching! Hope that helps.
That chironomid looks very gnarly!
You Sir are an artist! You are keeping me busy trying to tie all your flies. Thanks once more :)
My pleasure!
Nice one, I use a Krazy glue on the red holo to keep in place. Keeps it centered nicely
Good tip! :)

When's the best time of year to fish this beautiful fly?
whenever gassed up cron pupae are on the menu (typically May - Sept around here) or can also work as a bloodworm anytime ... :)

Thanks for the idea!
do you think asb can be substituted for the silver tinsel?
