Thanks for this! I got the 1TB version of the Angelbird CFExpress Type B Card for my new Canon R5C and it's been great! It was actually $80 less than the 512GB SanDisk.
@@vitorquental3628 Sorry, my bad. It's not the SE. Package says "CX". I don't think Anglebird makes a 1TB version of the SE card. Yes, mine shoots 8K 60fps raw light beautifully.
@Vítor Quental @PBFilms You won't have an issue with any of the video modes with any of the cards when it comes to the canon cameras. It only relates to the images and the frames per second. The buffer on the canon r5 (r5c probably the same but haven't tested) won't hit 20 frames per second unless you have all conditions met. The Pro MK2 hits 19 frames.
Thank you, friends! These angelbirds SE are way cheaper and i need to know if its possible to record 8k 60p raw light with the canon r5c with these cards.
Looks like the fastest setting on the R5C is 2600 Mbps (Raw 8K) and that translates to 325 MB/s so you are good to go. I would get it from somewhere to you can return just in case you need something faster.
lol yeah, I bought them all and tested them out. I am testing out the MK2 pro versions right now. The SE is definitely worth it for most workflows and cameras. Thanks again for the support!
I was surprised at the price for the 512GB SE as I already have 1 original Angel Bird 512 GB that cost me £450. So I wrote to Angel Bird as I was not sure the SE would be suitable for the R5 but they assured me that it would. Your video and tests confirm it. I am switching to video at 8K and I am glad that a Canon firmware update now allows longer recording before overheating. But of course there is still the 30 min record limit so that might work out with switching the card at the same time. So I might buy two SE cards for less than I paid for the original one.
Well done Nikos Anglebird have really moved the goal post on price availability and their development of their product line i have 3 256g pro cards an 4 512g se cards looking to get a couple of the matched R5 1tb cards great prices and quility products
Thanks so much for the insight about the buffer/interface bottleneck dynamic. I just upgraded to an R5 and hadn't paid any attention to new memory formats, trying to find a card that'd handle 8k video just to play around with that feature set seemed like a headache.
Great video. Bought the SanDisk 512GB for peace of mind. But how does this AV PRO card hold up until now? In dire need of a few more cards but worried about reliability.
Hello thank you for this review. Do you think it will be rapid enough or should I go for faster for my Sony A7r5. It takes “only” 10/s. Would also use it for 8k video. Thank you for any response.
What would have been good to see some tests comparing high speed continuous photo performance between this card and the 160GB SX. Obviously the SX will perform better, but for the hybrid video and photo sports/wildlife shooters the difference may be workable in the 512gb SE, but this video does little to help answer that
I love Angelbird but mine literally just stopped working as far as recording 4K. Keeps stopping because of wrote speeds. I’ve had it for two months lol. Maybe I just got a bad one
I'm a serious amateur mostly photo, some video, hybrid shooter I guess. I own an R5 and I love the camera. I have this card. Works for me. Price, size, speed, reliable. No brainer. Honestly, the R5 would be a better camera with two CRExpress Type B slots. But, not a big deal for a guy like me. I wonder, are some of the lock up and overheat reports maybe caused by the card? Not the camera? I have had zero issues with my R5 - I use an Angelbird CRExpress and an Angelbird SD card. Makes me wonder.
There was an issue with the first AV Pro version that was fixed with the firmware upgrade. The recent issue with the canon r5 and r6 was with the camera and it was fixed in the most recent firmware. That being said, I have noticed both cameras sluggish since the upgrade.
@@sottheaphoeurng9044 Looks like there was a firmware released but I don't know when as for some reason there are no dates. I would def pick up a card reader just incase. That being said, the card worked great when I had it. I ended up picking up the AV PRO MK2 and those had updates right out of the box.
I literally just got this card in the mail, put it in my S1 and it got stuck. I was able to pull it out with my fingernails and have not put it back in since then. It was very concerning. I came to this video after trying to research the 512SE stuck in other cameras. There seem to be some others with S1's and GH6's who are having the problem. Just trying to research this before I look at returning it, disappointing.
I didn't have issues with the SE. But I picked up the 1TB Pro and there is a slow startup. The last update made it faster but not fast enough. I am reaching out to the company to see what's up.
Thank you. I love supporting people and companies that want to do great things. I appreciate your review and enthusiasm for Angelbird.

Hi! Did you buy this SE version? Is it enough for all kinds of video modes? 8K60p raw light? Cheers

Hi, is this card ok to record in 4k 120p with the canon R5c ??
this good for gh6?
super hulpful, thanks!

My understanding SE is for video and SX is for photo. Why are you testing SE for photo and not for video?
Se is slower and more cheap. Se has nothing to do with foto or video
Will this work on 1dx mkii?
Has anyone tried any of these with the Lumix GH6?
Be careful, with this card the startup time of the Canon R5 is pretty slow, 2.3 sec on mine.

Start up from Turning from Off to On or Wake up from Power saving mode?
@@thethreeislands yes start up, from off to fully on and ready to shoot.
