One Plus Phones and 5G Issues in Canada

Expectation with dissapointment. OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 10 issues with 5G specifically in Canada can be annoying. Buying the Oneplus 9 and testing it out brought some interesting thoughts. I bought that card for A6700.... oh gosh... I filled bufer so fast that after switching to high demand video mode, I totaly broke the card that I was unable to store anything to that card anymore.... .. card is working after delete all the data, but its terribly slow.... Copy from card to PC is with only 64 MB/s LOL ...... write aproximately the same :-D such a scam..... KINGSTON is far more better, also ADATA working well.... this is trash.... Strange thing is, that it behaves like V90 but power is totaly out of range, not even V30

iPhones can use SSD nowadays. Even EMMC on all my tablets are much more reliable and SD cards failed at some point, partly thanks to EMMC using non FAT type file system. Camera manufacturers still think card shuffling is ok. SSD are getting cheaper but cards are getting more expensive.

Nikos, you are totally right. I bought this 8 years ago (!!! and you can still buy it new today...) to scan 35 mm slides from an Antarctic expedition in 1992. I got it out again today (October 2024) to scan some more, because on reviewing my scanned slides - they were all 'blurred', too dark, not colour balances, just horrible as you say. So, two hours this morning, trying to adjust the settings, etc, - all to no avail. It is just awful. You did make me laugh when you said the tape holding the lid down left glue on it..., mine is exactly the same (even after 8 years). So, today I will take my 200 slides down to the professionals - their charge is only AUD$220.

i've found AX 86U NAS capabilities to be SUPER unreliable & inconsistent. Speeds inconsistent(130MB down to 0 type stuff) & connectivity in general- unreliable. I'v had more than one, same on each occasion sadly. Also, the 2.5gb is a joke. Even when (with alot of effort) i get it to negotiate correctly, speed tops out at about 130MB/s. I use ASUS merlin, which from what i understand is overall better than the standard ASUS firmware in pretty much everyway, even still there is bs. And for super clarity, no- its not my PC. I have 5900x+ 2.5GB ethernet on a 10G cable.

Awesome review I've been on the edge on if it's worth it to spend $80 on that dual SD reader or not. If it's only reaching close to 5 gbs, do you think I should just go with the sd/microSD mobile reader (3.2 gen 1)? That's listed up to 5Gb/s (625MB/s). My workflow is just personal, (prograde v90 card) so I'm never on a time crunch. And if that one could reach Max speeds up to pretty much the dual SD card, I don't see what the difference is.

The only thing is using ai mesh with duel band routers only it steals some of your wifi just for the 2 routers just to talk to one another. I have a gt ax 6000 in my basement and a ax 86x on my second floor. The coverage is unreal however because some of my wifi (5ghz) is stolen by the ai mesh I have issues with overall performance in my home. I can not wire the back haul for the routers, so I HAVE to go with a tri band system. My gt6 system will here in 2 days (got it on sale for $200 off in Canada)

Q: Why not replace the 970 Evo with a 980 (non-pro)? A: Because the 980 is a QLC drive. in most respects, the best QLC drive will be inferior to the worst TLC drive (drive-write lifespan and SLC buffer-full situations especially). My hard and fast rule regarding QLC drives is ... DON'T purchase one. For me, the modest shavings don't offset the other costs.

It could be a TLC with que issue. When my nvme it goes fast until the queue is full and then slows down with TLC. Then when the queue empties the speed goes back up. Cheaper NVME's have a Triple state (TLC) or quad state with queue. Expensive one have a single state.

I've had a horrible experience with this system - incredibly unstable. It has now completely stopped working - resetting does nothing. The one positive is the 1 year warranty in which getting a refund through Amazon was an incredibly easy process. Still regret the many hours I spent on troubleshooting this though.

I was just about to purchase the SanDisk UHS-I expecting it to read at 170 MB/s and if I had never watched your video I would be stuck dealing with it reading at 95 MB/s since I do not have their “proprietary” sd card reader. There is definitely a clear miscommunication where people are not informed that they need the sd card reader from SanDisk to obtain the advertised specs from their sd card. There must be thousands of people who were misled and never tested their sd card read rate and are now wondering why their sd card is reading so much slower at 95 MB/s. Thank you for addressing this and bringing it to light!

I rechecked the images on their Amazon listing and they are written so small that it becomes blurry once zoomed in and most people would ignore it. This is definitely a deal breaker and the end of my trust and business with SanDisk.
