@@whatabouttheearth no , there are not. Some people in Azov are pretty radical but would you call all Americans skinheads because they are skinheads in the US?
Maybe President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should appeal as a Jew to Israel for military aid. That should put an end to Putin's ridiculous claim of denazification if instead of the Germans, the Russian troops are fighting the Israelis.
This last sentence is not quite clear... The Russians will fight the Israeli instead of Germans. And... i don't quite get the connection between this. Would you care to elaborate? Your comment sounds confusing
@@radschele1815 Historically, the original Nazis were the Germans under Hitler during WWII. To this day, Nazism is still predominantly associated with WWII era Germans. Now Putin's claim is probably that far right nationalist groups among Ukrainians are Nazis or, as they are often called nowadays, neo-Nazis, since their ideologies or philosophies or beliefs are similar or comparable or related. The Jews were the well-known victims of WWII nazism. Israel is the country founded by Jews after the Holocaust of WWII. It would be an extreme irony, if Putin's denazification means his Russian troops are fighting against Israelis, who are present-day Jews, descended from the ethnic group of the victims, and not the German Nazi mass murderers. That is, instead of having his troops fight against Nazis, who were historically the Germans, so I used Germans for humorous effect, although the groups that Putin is calling Nazis should be Ukrainians. The critical fact to keep in mind, however, is that those far right Ukrainian groups are not in control of the Ukrainian government. Otherwise, a Jew like Zelenskyy would obviously not become president. Anyway, the gist of my sarcasm is that if Israel sends Ukraine military aid, Putin's troops would be fighting against, in a sense, the opposite of what they claim: Jews, not Nazis. But then again, Putin could claim all Jews have become Nazis. Yeah, and the moon is made of cheese. You can't argue with someone who has lost his grip on reality or just lying through his teeth.
President Zelensky has too much class, and is too much the Ukrainian patriot, to play the "Jew card" and involve Israel. Talk about a move that would confuse the American Christian Right, who probably don't even think Pres Z is Christian.

The kernel of truth, some Ukrainians did collaborate with the Nazi's. It's too complicated to be discussed in this format. @@MrKatzengreis I can't see your whole answer, but yes, so did IBM, they helped the Nazis find the jews. Nazi ideology has nothing to do with the current situation.

@@DaDunge just a specific question. A Ukrainian guards at Treblinka, or the Ukrainian militia that shot Jews at Babi Yar, did they collaborate or were they fighting for independence?
I do think that Zelenskyy and the Ukranian government should look into the Nazi problematic. They have had "free reing" over some parts of Ukraine where Nazism is prevalent in sectors of the government, authority institutions such as the police and civilian population. Even if they are a minority generally speaking, they are taking part in the combatant population and they do pose a risk because they most surely will win influence and power after the war. We all know how that could result if a fart right movement surges because of the extreme conditions that Ukraine is facing and will face even after the war. I think that people shouldn't dismiss the issue just because "the Ukranian president is Jewish".

Exactly! This weekend I was wondering about this neo-nazi claim, and after googling a bit Azov battalion seems to be the main point. That seems to be what Russians are talking about. Azov is part of the Ukrainan National Guard after all. I don't understand why that means the entire government is neo-nazi though. If I had Russia after we me I would also let just about anyone joint the military. But Azov is definitely neo-nazi "friendly", and probably a bit more than that too.
The Ukraine's neutrality was doing fine until in 2014, when western politicians turned up in Kiev and encouraged the crowd to depose a government they had democratically elected because it had signed a finance package with Russia.
Israel is offically providing non-lethal aid, and I bet some Lethal aid under the table
President Zelensky has too much class, and is too much the Ukrainian patriot, to play the "Jew card" and involve Israel. Talk about a move that would confuse the American Christian Right, who probably don't even think Pres Z is Christian.
I hope there is peace between Ukraine and Russia. I support peace for the European Union, the United Kingdom and the USA.

Wouldn't Chernobyl have radio active waste that could b useful for weponry?

@@suzannegiannini85 No. Nuclear waste isn't a very effective weapon.

The kernel of truth, some Ukrainians did collaborate with the Nazi's. It's too complicated to be discussed in this format. Both were antisemitic but that alone doesn't make you a nazi, however disgusting it is. Russian citizens also collaborated with the Germans. I'm sure all Colbert fans are intelligent and may already know the history.
Ford and GM produced trucks in Germany during WWII, i would call that too Nazi collaboration.......
@@MrKatzengreis I can't see your whole answer, but yes, so did IBM, they helped the Nazis find the jews. Nazi ideology has nothing to do with the current situation.
Collaborate assumes they should have been on the USSRs side. But remember Ukriane was an independent country following ww1 and was invaded by the uSSR in the interwar years. They had been granted their indeopendence by Germany in ww1 so of course many of them sided with Germany again in ww2.
@@MrKatzengreis Considering Ford bankrolled the nazi party through the 30s I think he's a bit more than acollaborator. From the memoires of some nazis from that era they were a slightly xenophobic worker's party until Ford showed up with his money and asked if he couldn't pay them to play up the antisemtism angle.
@@DaDunge just a specific question. A Ukrainian guards at Treblinka, or the Ukrainian militia that shot Jews at Babi Yar, did they collaborate or were they fighting for independence?
You are full of hot air Julia,
the music in this show is amazing!
I am Ukrainian. And I lived in the three regions where there were supposed to be nazis. I can not wait to see one.I always read those comments from people that don't know the first thing about Ukraine but are dying to comment on Ukrainian "nazis".
