Hi! I’m a new subscriber. I came across your channel as we are seriously contemplating moving to Cyprus. We are a couple in our 50’s with 2 sons 18 and 20. We want a 4 bed family house. Where in your opinion, is the best place for us buy? Which areas are better for expats? For example Is Paphos better than Limassol? Many thanks in advance if you get the time to answer 😊
Hi, We love it here in Paphos, we originally looked on the east coast but realised it's seasonal, whereas paphos seems to have everything we need as a family. If you are coming as a family of 4 you'll need to meet the earning requirements for 4 adults. I'd estimate €72k per year on pink slip. And I believe it's even more expensive on permanent visa. They are loose numbers so make sure to take legal advice and good luck with your future move 🙏
Good luck to the whole family. It’s a beautiful island and a lovely climate except for the peak summer which is a bit extreme, but the very best bit is the Cypriots themselves; lovely people! My counsel would be to be sure for the whole family to learn to speak Greek (weekly private lesson online is not expensive and blend it with daily Duolingo. The course of your entire family’s life is going to change and, for your children it’s going to be many years before they can recognise the true value of your decision and to then give you their sincere thanks. Try and live in a true Cypriot area and not just finding a Brits enclave. 👍😎

We’re wondering if we should do the same. Will you home ed or send your children to school? We think our kids will be happier with a more outdoor life.
Hi, as we are from the UK, as far we understand, we need to register the kids with a school in Cyprus with the ministry of education, in order to get the Pink Slip. At this minute we are in a static caravan in the lake district, finishing off packing our stuff and planning for our flight on the 17th 😀 we will try and register them when we arrive!
Hi guys good luck. Unless you have money backup and a secured job living in Cyprus is not that easy. Also weather yes is nice but for 7-8 months its like 35 degrees so you can't just get out and go hiking or biking. You'll be inside in the air con
Hi Andrew, thanks for watching and your feedback. Luckily we meet the criteria for Pink Slip option so the move will happen on June 17th :) I like to get out of bed at 5am so a morning walk won’t be an issue, however we plan for lots of things not just hiking, so being selective with which activity at which time will be key to making it a success! However being inside with Aircon is probably the best option lol
@@willlzlive7039 We took a bit risk by doing it the way we did, we just sold everything and went. Since being here Emily has been offered multiple jobs in bars and restaurants on a working visa, the cesspit of Facebook will tell you it's not possible, but it is. The wages won't be the best, but it's away of moving to Cyprus and living in a nice place. If you are confident about coming over and would like a vehicle, I would recommend bringing it with you, not sure if its the same on a working Visa, but on a pink slip, you can bring a car in VAT free and without import tax, however, there is certain criteria you have to meet in order to do that. Being a chef I dont think you will have a problem finding work! Good Luck!
