Kino's face as he yells at the others that it's just another shift is so good. I swear I can see the thoughts behind his eyes as he readjusts every calculation he's ever made about the prison. This episode also made me completely forget the stalker dude's name. He's just Space Incel to me, now and forever.
Watching this I also thought about the families of the people getting locked up. Like we saw Cassian's sentencing, there's no due process, no legal representation, no visitation once they're inside. These people just dissappear from the galaxy and their families will never know what happened to them 💔 😔 😕
Watching you be pensively devastated is..65% of the 'entertainment' of the reactions to this show. ..be closer to 70% in Ep 10 I think. Your analysis and enjoyment is great to watch, Force Be With You.
The Empire was just recycling the men to one of the other prison complexes nearby. Is probably the reason why some of the newbies killed themselves so early into their "new" assignments.
Dedra doesn't threaten, she just does. If she wanted to arrest Syril or be done with him she would. She is insane and so is Syril. She wants to dominate and control and he is used to being dominated, and wants to serve. They are a very dangerous toxic duo in the making. That scene was second only to the children death rattle torture scene in being twisted.
Great reaction! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the next episode! It might be my favorite of the season so far, though I’m not sure. The show has been so consistently good.
This show has endlessly meme-able lines, like other Star Wars shows, but…not from nostalgia. This show builds tension and delivers relief unlike anything we’ve gotten That’s the sound of a reckoning We get whats left never more than 12 And so many more lines diedra and mon have been exceptional and yet they’re matched by the entire cast, even the crews in Ferrix and Aldhani we’ve stepped away from. EVERYONE has texture! Oh, ep 10 is gonna wreck ya’ll
Jessa & Alex...I miss you! The stars haven't aligned in so long, but you are still two of my fave reactors, I will always be subscribed....and I saw a show that I IMMEDIATELY thought you guys would KILL on. "SEVERANCE"! It's only 9 episodes, it's on Apple TV with Patricia Arquette, Adam Scott, Christopher Walken, John Turturro, Britt Lower....directed by Ben Stiller. Mindblowing. Oh please, please do that series eventually! I know you've done Ted Lasso (which I still haven't seen!), you just gotta do "Severance", it's amazing! You'll have so much to say! This series is made for you two! Ok, enough from me. Big hug! Your "Rosemary's Baby" and "Poltergeist" reactions are still the gold standard for me (among others!). I know back then you told me you might one day hit "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?" That would be fantastic! (And you could then hit the recent miniseries "Feud", with Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange, where they recreate the making of that movie!).
So many viewers get this episode wrong. Prisoners were getting released (even though they double their time because of Aldhani) not recycled. The prison made a mistake and tried to cover it up. Meaning those prisoners would never be released to cover their mistake. But what is also crazy is they kill their prisoners that cannot perform because of illness or sickness.
So you're saying that only the prisoners who know about the mistake were supposed to be killed/never leave, and that the prisoners' concluding that "no one is getting out" is just jumping the gun / a slippery slope assumption ?
@@spa.3239 The prisoners didn't jump the gun they were right to fight back and escape. My point was the prisoners weren't being recycled as so many viewers of the episode thinks. Remember when Cassian ask the doctor about anyone getting out and his reply was "Not now! Not after this!". That doctor services multiple floors so he would know if they were just transferring prisoners to other floors after their time was up. #1 if they were already not releasing prisoners the outside world would already know about it when their loved ones never come home which would cause a rebellion waaaayyyyy sooner than it happened. You would never let them arrest you. #2 if the prisoners were just being moved to other prisons or other floors multiple riots would have already been happening at any location they were moved to. Just like what happened on floor 2. Like the doctor said "They made a mistake.".
The actor who played Dr. Rhasiv was Adrian Rawlins. He played James Potter, Harry Potters Dad. He also happens to be married to Fiona Shaw (Maarva Andor).
Hi ladies, I enjoyed your reaction and discussion to the episode, I'm doing the same as yourselves and applying past and current reality to the show, just in a different part of the world, I've watched the most recent episode, it went very quickly, I'm hoping for an uplifting close to the season, Myself and my partner got married at the weekend, been on our honeymoon in St Andrews this week, a very relaxing few days, loved seeing the diversity, lots of American accents too! :) sending hugs, be safe, p.s happy to see no red wave! :)
Having them assemble those things just to have others disassemble them does sound like a level of cruelty the empire would go to, but I can’t imagine they would devote the energy and money toward the prisons, the tools, the supplies for the prisoners, if there’s no return on investment beyond working the prisoners to death. Those things have to be used for something
I don't think it's the Empire's style to have a "put it together, take it apart" factory. If they'd fry a whole level, they'd just airlock them into space. It's parts for the Death Star. Remember, no one is supposed to know it's being built. Muhahahahaha.... Great channel. :)
This show entails and clearly demonstrates what I've been trying to get across to people for years and that is the Empire arr space Nazis! This is why I have zero sympathy for Anakin Skywalker, I don't care what his backstory is every serial killer and Nazi probably has some kind of tragic event in their life and yet they have the ability to make decisions on their own not to do what they've done or to make the horrible choices they've chosen! Their Free Will was never taken from them ! I've even felt angry at Obi-Wan for not simply killing Vader which would have eliminated so much future suffering! Not to sound elitist, but this is Star Wars for adults no space Wizards with laser swords or purely good people who never do bad things, it's based more on reality, not completely Machiavellian, but yeah sometimes you break the rules for the desired results for the greater good and that good does not always Triumph! In fact true balance of the force would be for the light side users to realize that there is no light without Darkness and that they're two sides of the same coin, and if you are trying to extinguish one side you're in constant conflict and trying to achieve a goal that is impossible you can't have and up without a down and inside without an outside, positive without negative, sweet without sour or light without dark, as the Taoist realize they're not really opposites just extreme poles of the same process!!So true balance of the force would be like the gray Jedi, where you don't reject the dark side you keep it in check with the light side, otherwise you'll be in constant conflict and turmoil!
How can they keep the "freed" prisoners from saying that they were just transferred? I mean, once could be dismissed, but if half of your new prisoners were saying they weren't new? ... or maybe not that many people survive their terms and the few that do are dismissed by the other prisoners who don't want to believe no one gets out ....
I think it was an _ad hoc_ measure made necessary by the PORD. Suddenly they were getting a deluge of new prisoners and had to keep their current prisoners even longer. It was move of desperation to avoid complaining upward...and it backfired.
I also thought about World War 2 atrocities when watching this episode. I've been watching the World War 2 channel's war against humanity series recently so these things were fresh th-cam.com/play/PLsIk0qF0R1j4cwI-ZuDoBLxVEV3egWKoM.html
oh there is most definitely people who do deserve to be there in those prisons, but it'd be too risky to try to separate the innocent from the guilty. Im sure i read somewhere that a large portion of the Rebels manpower were actual criminals and terrorists
They said earlier that the prisoners had been evaluated suitable for labor. That would filter out any who would be obvious control risks or any who already had life sentences...those with life sentences would have less incentive to work as hard as possible.
"never more than 12" gives me chills like "no luke I am your father" used to

Denise Gough's face acting when Cyril accosted Dedra was amazing. Fear, disgust, anger, surprise...all kinds of emotions flickered over her face.

They did use Serkis' face as the basis for Gollum's own, so that's why you probably can't unsee the similarities.
Along with warnings like 'SSC' for Strong Sexual Content or 'V' for Violence, we need 'OM' for Overbearing Mother to flash at the beginning for folks.
A Star Wars show has no right to be written this well. For them to get us to care about an old man we don't know is incredible.

@@jessaandalexwatch Thanks, very kind, it's appreciated, back home now, having a relaxing weekend before returning to work on Monday :(
