Who knew that Andor was actually a Snoke origin story? Jokes aside, everyone's been acting their hearts out on this show, and while Andy Serkis always gives 110%, his performance in this show is the definition of "Powerhouse."

The ISB is modelled on the Gestapo and KGB. They were brutal but also ruthlessly efficient at the height of their respective regimes' power. Scary as hell
Yeah that torture scene really felt like they had thrown her into a gas chamber. It was violating to see what they did to her, the writing for this series deserves awards.

The writing continues to impress. And I was under the impression that Cassian gave Taga 'credit' for the swap, and not throwing him under the bus since Kino seemed to approve. Oh and Dr. Gorst, wow. Unlike the usual torturers from movies. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, which makes it far weirder, that f****** psycho. I dont know who's scarier, him or Syril's mom. And Syril, bold move hitting on Dedra right that. Maybe he's the kind of scoundrel missing from her life. What Madison said was right, they did an amazing job making the Empire seem really scary. Not just similar to the Nazi's, as was the original intent for the Empire, but now also the British Empire and any other colonial powers from back in the day. Really impatient for the next ep, which is tomorrow!
I think Luthen might be an uncle to Mon and Vel…possibly.

I have to be honest, while I realize that the strength of this show is the subtleties and nuances and the performances, I think I do miss or overlook some of that with the first viewing. You really do have to pay attention to it and I guess I’m getting used to having to do that. Accustomed to being able to tune out occaisionally
I think Mon Mothma will lose her entire family. Her daughter I believe is a Rebel already but her mother doesn’t know that. The distrusting looks suggest her daughter sees her as part of the problem. Her husband has chosen his side and Vel we all know isn’t around for Rogue One.
3:50 - That "doctor" reminds me so much of Ric Mayal, it's not funny. But Ric died a few years ago, and was much older than this guy. I still want to research and see if he's somehow related. I mean, he looks just like a young RIc Mayal!
Just remember when thinking about the fate of characters....Ahsoka wasn't in the original trilogy, but now we know she's still alive after it all. Disney's like to retcon things.
One of the things that's truly dark and tragic is the ISB's use of that torture machine, that woman likely has permanent brain damage now. She will quite literally never be the same after that. It's violating in a very intimate way, almost feels like she got graped. I'm really impressed with the writing, they aren't afraid to show just how depraved and callous the Empire actually is. They reward sociopathy with high honor.
I almost turned away it was so hard to watch them violate her like that.
Please stop comparing everything to rape. It's fucking pathetic and it does absolutely no service to victims of it.

it's still possible for vel to be luthen's daughter. which would also make luthen mon mothma's uncle, either by blood or as an in-law. that relationship would be interesting as well.
