Great video brother, I'm glad you mentioned the belt tensioner tool kit in your other video because it saved me some money.. I odered the gear wrench and 3/8 adapter and now it's mine for the life of the car..lol

Very thorough video. A bit lengthy buy hey, so is the job of doing this. You make me feel more confident in doing this now. Except it doesn't make me dread doing it any less except I don't like the bills from the repair shops these days either. Thanks for sharing this !

Would you like the video shorter, with less content, or the job easier, im not sure I understand.

@@retrotechandelectronics No problem with the video. I just meant it's a long tedious job in general. Your video was very descriptive.

In the beginning of the video what are the red and black cables connecting to in order to test the alternator?

Cool. I think the regulator is internally mounted on my Honda alternator so the whole unit has to be replaced. If it goes bad maybe I will endeavor to poke around inside the alternator to see if I can find a serviceable piece.

My 2007 2.2 cobalt doing same thing and what’s even more weird the wire loom on mine just crumbling as well. Thanks for sharing
Could you link the regulator you used please?

You make it look easy, but that bleeding knuckle at 12:52 says otherwise. I'd probably need a blood transfusion by the time I finished this job.

@@retrotechandelectronics weather held up - I was able to replace whole alternator and went surprisingly well.. But it wasn't the alternator at all - It was a corroded ground under hood and lose/dirty battery connector lol

You could also buy the tensioner kit, and chop the handle so it fits. That’s what I did, I saved some money that way
