Alan Alda talks about his Parkinson's, about his mother's mental illness and addiction, not with judgment, but just as parts of their circumstances. He doesn't say these things are trivial or "good", but he doesn't let them overrun the rest of his life either. His outlook is really remarkable. He's a total non-victim.
Alan Alda is one sharp cookie! I've always liked him in movies and on TV, but never seen him interviewed. He's someone with whom I'd really enjoy having a conversation. Thanks for posting this!
What great insight and not because he’s Alan Alda but because he comes across as an humanitarian, thinker, and a person concerned with just more than himself.
Alan Alda - the first TV star I fell in love with- smart funny curious interesting and erudite. No wonder most men are a disappointment. Alda seems totally at ease with his intelligence.
I have been so in love with this human being for close to 40 years ever since I first watched M.A.S.H. He remains honest, genuine, fearless and a great inspiration. ❤❤❤
I love watching the T.V series m*a*s*h because of him. Even though it's a few decades before my time. His laugh lights me up and his whole outlook on life is so calming.
First off, I love Alan Alda. Every American does. One of the great American actors. I also love this because my grandmother had Parkinson’s. She died at 75. I wish she had held on as long as he has.
I love your interviewing style. I've only seen 2 of your videos but I'm addicted. You have a way of drawing out the interesting parts of people that you haven't seen before. Short form Joe Rogan
But he wasn't an only child as he had a brother named Antony Alda. Yes, huge age gap but not technically an only child. However, they did have different mothers. Maybe that was what he meant?
Henrik Anthony was Alan’s half brother and was born in 1952 and died in 2009 of cirrhosis of the liver Alan is quite a bit older as he was born in 1936.
Alan's half brother (Antony) also made a guest appearance on M*A*S*H along side their father Robert Alda. Alda isn't their actual last name either. Not sure of spelling but I think it's D'Abruzzo. Alan Alda was actually born Alphonso D'Abruzzo.
Great show, love Alan Alda. Interesting that he mistook Liv Ullmann for the actress in Elvira Madigan for lots of reasons. Norwegian actress in a Swedish film but really noted intellectual rather than just a beauty. Alan is not lazy and is one of the most sensitive actors I can think of so why the mistake? Is this possibly a case where biological imperatives have have influenced, subtilely, an otherwise sensitive, caring, thoughtful man? Biological imperatives are real and must be managed. Some are socially constructive, like procreation and some are socially inappropriate like male aggressiveness.
Good comments...i think it was an innicent mistake...Biological imperatives aside, i would hope you never need an agressive male say to fend off an attacker. Perhaps you are a black belt in tai kwon do?
Just out of curiosity-when this show airs on Swedish TV, is it subtitled in Swedish? I have heard that Swedish people are the best second-language English speakers in the world. Maybe subtitles aren’t needed!
YES ALAN ALDA TOOK OVER FROM THAT JERKO WITH THE WIG AND MADE IT A GOOD INTERViEW...NOTHING GOOD ABOUT THAT POMPOUS JERK WITH HIS HIGH CROWN WIG... LOL poor Josh Rogan was ignored he should have walked off.i would have... from that rude no talent wannabe interviewer '
Thank God, that this man exist and is still alive. He is such an Inspiration to me. And always will be.

I'd like to hear a conversation just between Josh and Alan. Alan Alda is so gracious, intelligent, and self-aware.
Alan and the entire M.A.S.H team were brilliant. The shows still entertain me.
Love this legend...long live M*A*S*H, and Alan Alda
This is the best talk show and the finest interviewer.
Thank you so much!
@@SkavlanTV was this filmed in Scandanavia?
I would say shawn from hot ones is the best interviewer And show...
Love you Alan you have been an inspiration through all my life from MASH to your overall character in life.
I agree that Alan Alda is a good man, & a great actor

Alan was gorgeous when he was younger, this guy is absolutely a fantastic person, full of compassion and kindness.
Alan Alda is so intelligent, I truly admire his sense of humor.
What great insight and not because he’s Alan Alda but because he comes across as an humanitarian, thinker, and a person concerned with just more than himself.
He is such an open person. I learned so much about him that I never knew. He was MY heartthrob when he was on MASH.
Oh what a lovely man ❤️
Just a lovely Man
Calling the interview out on the notebook was masterful.
2 of the nicest men in showbizz in one show: Alan Alda and Josh Groban!!
Alan Alda - the first TV star I fell in love with- smart funny curious interesting and erudite. No wonder most men are a disappointment. Alda seems totally at ease with his intelligence.
2 of the most talented men in entertainment in their fields. And seemingly so nice.
Greatest actor ever

Charming! That sums up Alan Alda.
I Love Alan Alda. Greatings from Germany
Alan Alda is just outstanding.

One of my favorite actors
Greatest actor: love ❤️ you Alan...
A legend.
I have just found your channel and subscribed! I love this show...good conversation without all the gimmicks bells and whistles. Lovely! Thank you!
I love watching the T.V series m*a*s*h because of him. Even though it's a few decades before my time. His laugh lights me up and his whole outlook on life is so calming.
His laughter is very contagious. 🤣🤣

Love M.A.S.H.....was really hoping he'd have more to say about it than just the $$$ part!
How is that I never heard of Skavlan until recently? I'm loving these videos.

Love this man
An American treasure
Positive communication is key to influence change for the greater good. Music makes everything better. :)
I love him ❤
Great guests and conversation.
Oh he is wise. It is easy btw to make that mistake about Elvira because Pia was beautiful and looked a bit like Liv.
awkward handshake directly at the beginning
I like the chicken episode
04:29 that's danish for "thanks a lot"...
I know he's American, but he should be knighted.
But he wasn't an only child as he had a brother named Antony Alda. Yes, huge age gap but not technically an only child. However, they did have different mothers. Maybe that was what he meant?
Anal much?
He literally "grew up" as an "only child" because his brother was something like 20 years younger, so Alan was a grown man when he was born.
Henrik Anthony was Alan’s half brother and was born in 1952 and died in 2009 of cirrhosis of the liver Alan is quite a bit older as he was born in 1936.
Bashfyl also Anthony who died in 2009 was Alan’s half brother and was born in 1952 and Alan in 1936

Didnt woody Allen marry his own daughter?

I know a Norwegian woman, born and raised, who does not even have an accent.
Nice and early
1st & 💘
I never really cared for Alan Alda as an actor. As an senior, meh. The interview, however, is incredible. A great conversation overall.

Hey Alan !! Trump is going to win in 2024😂
Josh Groban ??? One good way to ruin a talk show
