bridge humbucker, something highish output with alnico 5. tube screamer or some knockoff of one, drive at 0, tone 2/3 of the way up or all the way up, level in the middle. boss HM2 or some clone of one. level in the middle, lows and highs cranked, distortion just BARELY on, into the lead channel on an amp with good distortion. tweak the gain on the amp until it doesn't hiss too bad, then go to town.
