Being a football fan I was very hyped up when ISL started. Whole of the northeast went crazy to buy tickets of northeast United. Tickets got sold within seconds online during the first season for northeast utd. There were no parking spaces near stadium. But with succeeding year northeast never performed well , people lost interest, aged old not so good players played , performances were poor so now eventually people have lost interest and anybody can get tickets online during ISL and stadiums remains empty. Promoters need to think on it as why did this happen eventually or why did people lost interest or stadiums once filled with people now remains empty.
Compared to other regions and states( barring some states like Bengal, goa, kerala, Bangalore and some others) still people keep interest in northeast. Atleast people keep track of international matches or follow instagram and Facebook pages of their team. But the quality, infra and marketing needs to improve to draw people's interest or else people will reluctantly watch European leagues on their screen.
AMBANI is a businessman. He can buy liverpool but not bring good players in ISL, improve infra and marketing. During first few seasons though aged , atleast players such as anelka , Perez, R carlos, materazzi came to play. @@jimmy_xi9342 do you even know wht reality is?
Football is competitive on another level. It doesn't enough to have "enough fans or player pool". The football quality should be there.
You talk about Iceland, it might be a small nation but they do have connect with the European world and know exactly at what level of complexity is involved in football.
We don't have that. So we can't expect to produce the same result as Iceland.
Football is more about mentality, team work, complex tactics and more. Each of which we Indians lack in many folds.
So for that we need more involvement of our people in football, as players, fans, coaches or even politicians to run the AIFF the way it would benefit football more.

In India, Kerala behaves as an another country. Here, we have an immense craze towards football and even adore our ISL and I-League team. Our state has provided one of the best footballers for the national football team. But because of corruption and third-man control on our team, many talented and deserving players have missed a chance of playing for the national team. Even players inside the national team don't get facilities and amenities as good as those received by the cricket team. We must change our attitude towards Indian Football and realise that they will win leagues only if they have the support of their own country. I dream of a day when our Blue Tigers would rise and bring home the World Cup.

INDIAN FOOTBALL can only develop and become one of the best when changes are made at basic level-
1.Encouraging school children to play more football...we all have been football lovers in our school days
2.Changing time-table in schools and providing atleast 4-5 games period in a week, instead of just 1.
3.Organising frequent football district, state and national level tournaments from school level
4.More football coaching clubs like cricket should be opened.

I agree to uh sham bhai. When ISL started in way back I think 15 Or 16 I watched it's 2-3 seasons in fact kolkata & mumbai city FC we're my favrt teams then. But after initial seasons it's quality gets degraded with each passing season & my interest also gets lowed due to this & now I even don't know how many teams out there playing in ISL. But I do want Football to develop in our country. being from delhi I don't see here any craze of playing football whether in schools or colleges here full attention is only cricket then badminton to some extent. But to grow football first we have to improve from grass root levels i.e schools then take it various levels but it needs so much attention, funding, audience, hardwork & at last honesty then only we can see our team INDIA play FIFA World Cup in around next 15-20 years but in near future its very difficult to imagine it. Hoping for best ❤ INDIA INDIA 🇮🇳

We knew they are old and won't play as they used to but we went simply to see them, for having a fan moment. Such things were good for promotion

The biggest thing lacking is the scoring line, people who can convert to goals. ISL clubs most of the times have foreign players in the scoring line, which hinders exposure of local talent to scoring positions. Also i think indian players need more exposure to european clubs. We lack international level players.
