Now I am even more impressed with Andrea's achievements knowing that as well as being a mother, wife and all round skilled person she is navigating all this with a medical condition and she still has a sunny disposition. Andrea and Dean are a great team, the playroom is stunning.
Everyone thinks Andrea *needs* a workroom (which I wholly agree with) but honestly, I think it's DEAN that needs it. Carrying that saw just might do him in.😆
Wow! That ladder gave you all kinds of struggles! The room is beautiful! I also have an auto-immune disorder. Hang in there, it’s a bit of a roller coaster. With a good doc, you will figure out what works for you. Also, don’t be hesitant to be your own health care advocate! It is possible to have years of little or no issues. At least that’s been my journey of about 13 years. Keeping physically fit will go a long way. I’m sharing what’s worked in my journey. Yours of course might be different. All the best and thanks for sharing❤
Andrea you are as awesome as xoMcanna! You are so beautiful and smart!! How do you do it all? a mom, wife, woodworker, and builder and you do it all with sweet smile. You inspire me, an old lady of 71 to do projects for my house. I love all that you do thanks for sharing!
You guys can see on their reactions that they didn't expect that their home can still be transformed to a more aesthetic place to live in. I can imagine how the kids can enjoy their new play room too. Great job for a successful project! 🙌✨
Adorable finish. Have uc, 37 yrs now...flares up/subsides/on-off meds. Found diet/minimize stress&tension and being active all help control. Is what it is...not diabetes, thank God. Best of luck to you.
I started the Autoimmune Protocol and was able to transition to part AP, part Paleo. It’s only hard until it’s habit. The diet does great things for health! Been doing it almost 11 years. I love your channel!
Very impressed with the redesign of the "play room". Your children are adorable (no surprise!). They will enjoy that room especially because their parents care! Lovely, lovely family!
Very good design and I love the color choice. Know the children are in love with this huge space. Happy birthday to your 10 year old. Trampoline park was amazing. Andrea hope your doctor has a better diagnosis and treatment for your illness. Take care and enjoy your weekend.
Andrea and Dean- You two put out some fantastic content. Very inspiring in both the DIY department and in your kindness to each other. Keep up the good work!
Anytime I'm working on a project and I don't have to go to Lowes more than 2x's in one day, it's a victory. I've had 5 visit Lowes days. Those are the worse. The project came out incredible. The room is fun, yet sophisticated, so it should age up well with your kids. Instead of building a miter saw stand, have you considered one of the rolling portable stands that are made by several companies? No matter what, miter saws are heavy and a pain to lug around, but when I'm on a job site, I can wheel the miter saw around by myself. Also, in the folded position, they save space in your garage. Cheers!
👏👏 Girlfriend! I've worked in construction, drywall, plumbing, roofing, landscaping...like...all of these different things...and yet I'm jealous that you are just so dang good at this. Somewhere down the line I forgot that I didn't have to be good at all of the things, but I still worked too hard to be that "women can do just as much as men" example. And now I hardly do any of it anymore 😂😭 you do amazing things ❤
I've been thinking this for forever: You guys have such a beautiful family, amazing work ethics, mind-blowing design ideas, and a loving and respectful way of treating eachother. I am in awe. I hope for only good things happening for you. 🥰🤗 And Yaaaas, Andrea needs a workroom!!
My daughter also was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis last year and it has been quite a journey for her. The discomfort and fatigue are super debilitating so the fact that you work so hard is impressive!
Great job! I'll definitely rebuild the ladder for my library! It is wonderful when children have a large space to develop. It's also great for the parents when the toys find their place and it's easier to keep things tidy.
Oh how I enjoy your channel! This room is so great for kids! I always look forward to the next video! In a world that has gone crazy you bring joy, peace and beauty! I pray blessings over you and your sweet family!
I was going to repeat myself about building a miter saw table but you beat me to it!! That would be a great DIY video to share with us. "How to build a miter saw table." Beautiful playroom. Lots of inspirations.
I can't believe you don't have more subscribers, you two make a great team and I look forward to your videos every week! Please keep up the amazing work, Andrea. You deserve a vacation! And Dean, thank you for capturing your family's adventures :)
What an amazingly magical and memorable space you created for your kids. It’s not just a playroom, it beautifully designed for the kids with lots of love from Mom and Dad. You guys are such great parents 🥰
The design is awesome and it turned out beautiful! God love Andrea for continuing on as sick as she is! Can’t wait to see next week’s video! Prayers for healing upon Andrea! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
Oh my goodness sweet Andrea I am so sorry to hear about your UC! I hope that this doctor can get you on a road to recovery! The kids play room turned out magnificent as always!!! The sliding ladder is so super cool! I would love to have had one of those as a kid growing up haha actually I’d love to have one now! Can’t wait to see what projects you do next!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awsome Job! Really nice result! Pro tip: Use torx head screws and you will stop stripping the heads. Plus you no longer need to push so hard because the bit wont slip.. 😊😊
Beautiful job Andrea! Looks like the kids LOVE it! What kid wouldn't?? They will spend a lot of time in there I bet! Love that color of the walls. Hope you're feeling better too!!❤
The playroom looks amazing. Andrea, please be careful. I was so worried a couple to times that you would fall and hurt yourself. You don't want to break an arm or anything else for that matter.. I broke my arm 9 weeks ago cause I got to comfortable stepping over a fan cord and them I accidentally hooks my foot on it an took a belly flop on the floor. Breaking your arm It's fun and a very painful recovery at times. So please be careful. Dean please make sure to keep an eye on her and on yourself too.
Kudos to you, Andrea, for doing the hard work and discipline to find the root cause and gain better health. Before retiring, I was a health coach specializing in digestive health. I hope you won't have to miss out on favorite foods forever. A functional doctor is a great resource. The room is awesome!
Love the results of the playroom! That color green is so calming. The fact that you left that huge space on the floor for play instead of filling it up with unnecessary furniture especially given the window bench. All parts of the build were great. If you are not headed to a big box store at least 10 times for each room, is it really a DIY?
Andrea, I had the same autoimmune issue. It's been in remission for 5 years now. I did the GAPS diet, then Paleo Autoimmune Protocol and now I stick to Wahl's Protocol. They really work! ❤️
Hello Jaclyn, I hope you're having a beautiful day so far? Well, I'm kinda strange with how things are operated here, a friend of mine introduce me to TH-cam a couple months ago. Can we be friends if you don’t mind? I’ll like to know you better.
As always, what a fantastic job and what a magical space you have created for your children. I hope your doctor can come up with a good solution to ease your pain and discomfort. You're a great family, well done!
The design is gorgeous, and overall, it's such an amazing playroom!! I love how much space there is to spread out across the room and enjoy and contain all their hobbies and inspirations. ♥ Gotta bookmark this one for future inspiration. Thanks Andrea & Dean! (P.s. - I got a hearty laugh at 10:02! Haha, is it bad if I *don't* want you to make a saw table? Sorry, Dean!)
Hi Andrea, I was laughing when you tried to open the ladder package..it reminded me of my patio shade..it drove me nuts , trying to open the shade..took over 2hours. and it was wrinkled galore when I got it outta carton.. it went up on patio.. great job with bookcases. awesome room..hope you are better..cut out all chemicals, additives, in foods..just eat natural.. start your own food forest in your yard...EAT CLEAN. y'all are awesome..♡
Wow! That’s an amazing room for your family! Your an amazing carpenter! I am so sorry to hear you have UC. I am 76 & the start of mine was in my late 20,s. I pray you can get it under control with diet. I ended up with Mega Colon & had it removed. I have an Ileostomy. Good luck and you will be in my prayers and thoughts! Love y’all videos!
Andrea, the AIP diet does make a difference it is hard to get used to to, and from time to time you may need to go back to it to find your center. I use it with Graves and Diabetes it helps so much. Hats off girl you do wonderful work and struggling with an autoimmune is not easy. You are a warrior keep up the good work!
The room looks amazing! Love the paint color and the shelf/ladder units. GLAD to hear you're considering building a table for that beast of a saw. Put it on castors to save Dean's back. It certainly could be a project to build it.
Read or listen to medical medium books. Make sure you get the revised one. It talks about autoimmune and mystery illnesses and how to heal. It’s a must read for everyone!
old carpenters trick by my father ... if the screws are difficult to go in rub them on a bar of soap ... ... then screw them in ... usually helps them go in smoother
I have UC - and I went on an elimination diet as well. I eliminated cruciferous vegetables sour cream and most but not all diary. One thing that is very helpful to me is drinking kefir everyday. 6-8 oz of Kefir each day helps me to digest my food
Recommend torx/star screws if you aren’t already using them. Those Phillips head bits ALWAYS slip like that - making it much more difficult to drive them in.
So inviting and what a great place to sit and relax and read a book or play a game. The colors are so soothing, the rug the sitting area by the window. The ladders and the table and chairs. Great job and thank you for sharing.
End result is very good. Future reference to help work out your ladder length use the 4 to 1 rule. So for every 4 foot in height your ladder should be 1 foot out. Keeps you safe.
I love CAVA! I know the feeling of eliminating yummy foods, I have had to eliminate dairy and soy from my diet. I too have just quit eating out because it’s easier, but I do miss it! I love your videos guys!
It has been fun to watch the progression of this room! I love how you share your success and your struggles - keeping it real! I have Crohn's, had surgery 15 years ago and have been in remission most of the time since then. Sorry you are struggling! Watch out for other autoimmune issues to flare! Thanks for all the work y'all do to make a great channel!
Hope your son had an amazing birthday! Happy 10th birthday Levi! Looks like they had so much fun. You guys crack me up. Definitely make my day when watching you guys. Ladder came out beautiful! I’ve always wanted a ladder like that 😮 The room came out beautiful 🤩 can’t wait to see the next project

Love this! Also, the therapist in me is thinking Andrea should build a rolling table or cart for her saw to save your backs. I am in awe of all that you guys do!

I really wish you would change the intro to say super handy husband. Filming and editing are no small feat. I know first hand! So please do not sell yourself short. With that said, your wife is absolutely amazing at what she does. I am always so empowered and inspired by her work!
What a wonderful gift to your family! The playroom looks amazing!! Your walls appear to fight back like mine, I had to purchase and impact driver drill .
You two are funny, always cracking me up. I love that room - I'd use a room like that for my personal library/office/study - minus the mini loft beds (?) Am enjoying watching DIY Wife at work, you are fab.
Hello Ann, I hope you're having a beautiful day so far? Well, I'm kinda strange with how things are operated here, a friend of mine introduce me to TH-cam a couple months ago. Can we be friends if you don’t mind? I’ll like to know you better.

Still don’t know why they don’t just build or buy a rolly table for that monster saw!!
Yes, they need a rolling stand for that saw. 😀
@Stephen Caroline😆😆😆
@Stephen Caroline great idea!
Andrea is INCREDIBLE!! I hope your kids are learning from mom! What an incredible skill to pass on from generation to generation!
The kids must appreciate their Mummy DIY for them. They’re so fortunate!! 😃
Wow! That ladder gave you all kinds of struggles! The room is beautiful!

More so! She does so much work all by herself and manages a family, too!
It's a very nice playroom. Near the window bench? Perfect!!
You guys can see on their reactions that they didn't expect that their home can still be transformed to a more aesthetic place to live in. I can imagine how the kids can enjoy their new play room too. Great job for a successful project! 🙌✨
Only in the modern era can you get paid to make your own house look great. Excellent talent. Thanks for inspiring people.
Dang, you need your own show. It looks so rich, well thought out and organized. Fantastic color combos too.
Adorable finish. Have uc, 37 yrs now...flares up/subsides/on-off meds. Found diet/minimize stress&tension and being active all help control. Is what it is...not diabetes, thank God. Best of luck to you.
Fantastic !!! Andrea for President !!! Girl's RULE thumbs-up

That is so pretty! You're kids are really blessed to have such a talented Mom to create such a beautiful space for them to play in.....Wow!
I’m a UC warrior too, so I can appreciate how she feels. Good for her in finding a doc to help her ❤️
Y’all knocked it out of the park AGAIN!
Very good design and I love the color choice. Know the children are in love with this huge space. Happy birthday to your 10 year old. Trampoline park was amazing. Andrea hope your doctor has a better diagnosis and treatment for your illness. Take care and enjoy your weekend.
Putting candle wax, soap from a bar of soap or just paste wax on the end of a screw helps it go in so much easier.
Andrea and Dean- You two put out some fantastic content. Very inspiring in both the DIY department and in your kindness to each other. Keep up the good work!

My daughter also was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis last year and it has been quite a journey for her. The discomfort and fatigue are super debilitating so the fact that you work so hard is impressive!
Glad you're going to a functional medical doctor. Mine saved my life. My mother had Crohn's so I sympathize with that challenge. Hope you feel better.

You guys are such great parents 🥰
My knees hurt watching you saw and chop and cut on the ground. If I were close, I would bring over a table for you and the saw! Beautiful work.
It is encouraging to see all that you do. I also have multiple autoimmune diseases and love design and construction.

I was laughing when you

and it was wrinkled galore
when I got it outta carton..
it went up on patio..
great job with bookcases.
awesome room..hope you

start your own food forest
in your yard...EAT CLEAN.

Use a very wet bar of soap and apply to threads of screws. You can also use a NEW wax toilet seal.
Read or listen to medical medium books. Make sure you get the revised one. It talks about autoimmune and mystery illnesses and how to heal. It’s a must read for everyone!
You need to build a little cart for your saw so it can be rolled out of the garage. Should be a quick little project that can save Deans back!

Oh 100%!! If you ever see me using anything else it’s because I already had them on hand but now I don’t like using anything else!

This is my dream library/craft room/reading nook. I absolutely love this!
You need merch that says "I need the saw"
Andrea is amazing. Idk how she works with all of Dean’s comments 🤯
That is a great looking playroom for your children. I wish I was handy as you are when I was younger.❤💙💗💙💙💙
End result is very good. Future reference to help work out your ladder length use the 4 to 1 rule. So for every 4 foot in height your ladder should be 1 foot out. Keeps you safe.
The room looks gorgeous!!!!! ❤️❤️
Awesome playroom!!!!! roomie and cozy for the kids.
I love CAVA! I know the feeling of eliminating yummy foods, I have had to eliminate dairy and soy from my diet. I too have just quit eating out because it’s easier, but I do miss it! I love your videos guys!
HAPPY KIDS....Looks great!!!
I like how you make it so real and show the mistakes as well. Great work.
Great video! Love how the room turned out! 👏 👏
I am floored - excellent job!!!
You should use bar soap on your screws. It helps them go in easier.
Hope your son had an amazing birthday! Happy 10th birthday Levi!
Looks like they had so much fun. You guys crack me up. Definitely make my day when watching you guys.
Ladder came out beautiful! I’ve always wanted a ladder like that 😮
The room came out beautiful 🤩 can’t wait to see the next project
The playroom looks fantastic. Love the library vibes. I really enjoy your channel.
seeing all these PZ-screw-head-problems again and again I will remind you of the TX-Screws again and again. Industry is using them for a good reason. So much less trouble with screws going in and out....
I love love love this project. I’m short and always wanted a library ladder.
Oh my goodness! So, so pretty. So sweet. I would have loved this as a child, who wouldn't. You did a beautiful job. Super nice!
Ok so @Lowes needs to sponsor you guys and have you do one of there weekender projects. That would be a cool Collab. This playroom came out amazing as usual. Thanks for the hard work and all the great content
I love it and I'm so glad you use color. I think color makes a room and I love the color choices you have used on everyone of your projects.
Andrea, you are an amazing woman! Everything you do is well executed & beautiful! I love watching these videos! Dean, your videography & editing are awsome!!
Andrea,
I am so sorry you are living with ulcerative colitis. I had it for many years. I absolutely understand everything Dean was saying about what you live with. He was very delicate in his description. The cramping and discomfort, the need to have a bathroom nearby…
You have my total empathy!
Love this! Also, the therapist in me is thinking Andrea should build a rolling table or cart for her saw to save your backs. I am in awe of all that you guys do!
love the outcome on this space. Andrea sending love & best wishes to you & your family. You are an inspiration to us all xxx
Wow what a beautiful space for a playroom!!! I love how you made it special for your kiddos!!!
I love your channel, your style and all your projects! I’m sure you already know this, but still wanted to make a suggestion. Put your miter saw (that Dean is always carrying back and forth 😊) on a foldable stand with wheels 😊. My husband has his on one and it’s great. It collapses, then you can tilt it and roll it back and forth from the garage. Love you guys 😊❤
We've had Cava in Charlotte for a few years now and I LOOOOVE it. Such an easy and (relatively) healthy go-to that even my salad-averse teenage son enjoys. Oh, and the room is gorge!
WOW! It’s looks so good. Another great project for the books. I need to find somewhere in my house to get a rolling ladder.
Love it. Lowe's need to sponsor your videos. Yes workshop would be great.
I really wish you would change the intro to say super handy husband. Filming and editing are no small feat. I know first hand! So please do not sell yourself short. With that said, your wife is absolutely amazing at what she does. I am always so empowered and inspired by her work!
Now that’s a labor of love!! Beautiful space! 💕👍🇺🇸🙏😎
Andrea - need to make a rolling saw table darling!
Andrea scrape the screws across a candle or bar of soap to help them go in easier.
Great video today guys. Dean I hope you are feeling better.
Beautiful design and work... such an awesome room....!!
My fav episode so far. Loved seeing you guys have fun with the kids.
That room looks so good! You did a great job once again, Andrea!
What an awesome playroom! everything just came together like magic. "Andrea Magic" 😉
This playroom looks awesome and suits the growing family, I love this makeover 🙂
Such a great playroom for your kids! I love it, it looks so nice!
