Just got this phone 3 days ago. I love it! I just wish someone would have said that all apps are google apps. Photos, messages ect. I am a privacy advocate. It's a ton of work to find alternatives that this phone will work well with. But it's an awesome phone, I just don't want google everywhere
I received the update 3 days ago. (FYI I am in Greece but I have set up my location to Japan so that could be a factor to take into consideration). What I have noticed so far is that the Pro video is included in the update and also some improvements on the game launcher app. Apart from that the aod is a bit different and that's pretty much it. The bummer about Sony is that they do not have release notes so in every update you have to guess what's being updated
Samsung really dropped the ball with software update this time. I got my S24 Ultra the first day it came out and now one year later and about a month or two before the new top level model comes out and I still don't have any major update.
Hey man, I'd really like to get the Xperia 1 VI to replace my still very good LG G8 do you still recommend it? I had the Xperia 1 III very briefly I wasn't impressed so I sold it. I'm still holding on to my LG. Now I'm thinking should I wait for the OnePlus 13 when it comes out or get this Xperia 1 VI? Thanks
Only Sony right now gives you natural looking photos and when you zoom in too much the photo might get distorted but when zoom too much into pics taken by other Phones u will find cartoon or painting like feeling...that's y Sony is far more superior in natural picture quality though this mark 6 is a bit vibrat and colorful in terms of clicking pics...if ur looking for camera then it's also the 2024 best camera recommend by GSMArena as well...good luck for wt ever ur planning, tc.

Sony was fast with this update because they changed nothing :D Only pushed one tab into camera app (video pro). Camera app is now crammed full of nonsense with no separate pro apps as in previous models.

2012-2015 sony was the worst with updates they were literally 7-8 months behind everyone else 2016-2019 they were one of the best and sometimes would outdo google itself Currently they are average sometimes they are quick sometimes they aren't

How can anyone overlook these issues? For the same amount of money, you could get a Samsung, iPhone, or even a OnePlus or Vivo, all of which outperform Sony smartphones in nearly every category. Long battery life , slim phone chassis , dual front firing speakers , IP68 , no notch nonsense on display, 3.5mm , micro sd card expansion, no need for sim tool to extract the nano sim all in a light weight package. Where can you find them?

Sony is just true to themselves and provides a phone with characteristics you can seldom find, or even find from other phones. Some fans just value what is there that is not on others. Sure, some were also removed - notif. LED. But there are few phones with uninterrupted display, front-firing stereo speakers (cannot find any other, is there?), microsd slot and headphone jack maybe are present on other smartphones (and workarounds exist), but they lack on other things mentioned.
It's not just front firing speakers, they are kind of equal in power. Wind reduction is another feature that's not available on other phones. Camera button is not available on other phones. And Sony beats Samsung at making photos, but you need to learn photography tips... Samsung S24 Ultra has more noise in photos and it's ergonomics are really bad. I don't like notches, so no thanks, I prefer a clean Android which always works fast.

Samsung will hold back the Android 15 update to S24 owners, to make it another selling point on the S25 series.
