Wow. I bet he was handraised, or just had domestic dog in his genetics. His coloring and mannerisms are so doglike.
EXACTLY what I thought ❤❤❤
Actually, this is normal wild coyote behavior. Once in a while, a single one might bond to a dog, but a lot of the time, it's luring the dog away pretending to play with it while the rest of the pack waits to kill it.
Coyotes are rather bold by nature and have become even more so living amongst people and in urban areas. Never forget they're wild animals.
This is actually old news. Carmine was genetically tested and 100% coyote
He a coyote for sure . I've had 2 identical. A boy and girl
@@nunyabezwackz
I've never seen a black coyote before
This could have ended very differently if the coyote had chosen a neighbourhood with people that react out of fear. I'm so glad the people in the neighbourhood didn't react with fear. Instead, they responded to a lonely animal with compassion and understanding.
Nicely said ❤
Well put. 🥰
Indeed!
Right! ❤
So true!
I've actually seen Carmine and Wilee at Yellow River. They love to howl at passing sirens. They're still living their best lives, thanks to these rescuers!
Thanks for letting us know. This was such a great story and could have ended so badly with the Coyote being hand raised so very used to going up to people. So happy to hear that both of them are doing well.
wow. Thanks for sharing
U didn't see those dogs u saw some dogs and now your lying on the internet stfu u truly don't know for sure if they are those dogs
@mustacheguy8192 what are u really that mental . Wtf is wrong with u . He dosent know what dogs he saw he's just talking out of his ass u better not vote your mental ability is astronomically low
@@cathy_p637are u serious letting u know what that he lies and makes up stories . Their is no way he knows for certain those are the same dogs he's has no credibility just because of that u better not vote your a menace to society with that power u don't think u don't use your brain
The way he was so friendly and playful with dogs and so calm in the trap makes me suspect he’s been in a kennel before. He’s a handsome boy. Happy for him 😊
I think it's because he was alone, in a pack he would hunt them but alone he knows he won't stand a chance
@Mowdown coyotes don't typically hunt in packs. They usually hunt in pairs or alone, and dog aren't their preferred prey. They will eat small dogs, but they will only attack large dogs if they think they are a threat. Coyotes also don't lure dogs. If a dog follows a coyote to a den where there are pups, the coyote won't like the dog being near the pups and will likely attack the dog. They don't go out of their way to attack large dogs as it puts themselves in danger, however, small dogs can look like food to them.
That’s the most unique looking coyote I’ve seen. Coloring and head shape looked more like a wolf to me. I’m glad he got a happy ending.
Edit: his sanctuary tested his DNA and he is 100% coyote.
There are now specimens that are a mix between wolves and coyotes...a whole new species? Subspecies?
I read that coyotes across the nation are growing larger in size and adapting to human life closer to the likes of self-domesticated dogs now, because human overdevelopment has forced their development this way. It's made them bolder in attitude, but it's apparently affecting their appearance as well.
@@queenboudicca31 Just hybrids, not a species or subspecies.
I am pretty sure the name is “coy wolf”
the crossbreed you're referring you're thinking of is the coywolf, they've been around for a while!@@queenboudicca31
What a polite, proper coyote! He did everything he could to make those dogs feel relaxed around him. I hope he continues to do well.
Of course he did. Him and his pack that's probably hiding, want to eat them!
You're an idiot. Plenty of foxes and coyotes who are friendly. Been watching them for 40 adult years
Both here in Pennsylvania and in Colorado they're well-fed they have plenty of Natural Resources in the woods here. They come to play. you live in a place with different circumstances. You can't judge all environments by yours
(Sorry I shouldn't have said you're an idiot. That was really rude)
@@kate1269don’t think so he seems somewhat domesticated
These are very cunning and smart animals, they make friends and lure your dogs to an open field.
Yeah you are exactly right. I don't think most people in this comment section understands how often they do this to eat pets. They just see it as a dog lol
Finally, a happy story on TH-cam. I'm glad that they captured him and gave him a new friend/possible mate, instead of just shooting him.
what a great story. So glad to see him in the sanctuary instead of dumped out into the wilderness to fend for itself. Normally I wouldn't say that about a Coyote but this one seems to have been raised by humans somewhere. So calm, just like a normal dog. A good boy. Also glad the other one got a companion! I love dogs, this one had me halfway tearing up.
That’s why I can’t spend too much time on this channel! I start getting dehydrated 😅😅
Yeah, not only does he look like some level of hybrid, but he was going to scare a well meaning--or not--person and get hurt. Far to friendly
the coyote would be much happier being free in the wild than being trapped in a little cage with no stimulation for the rest of his life
Coyotes are easy to domesticate.

So glad Carmine and Wilee have each other! 🐺♥️🐺 Thank you to everyone involved in the rescue and to the sanctuary for giving them a forever home! 👍🏽
Before Dakota at Save a Fox, I had no idea how playful and cute coyotes can be. Carmine takes that to an even higher level with his little doggy playdates and his bounce on the water omg so cute 🥰
I love how he was playing and jumping in the puddles! I'm glad he will live his best life in the sanctuary with his new friend Wilee!
No, that is prison they have to be in nature
@@arnold3785they are there for a reason; they obviously can’t go back to nature.

That female coyote was so jazzed to not be alone and have a coyote boyfriend, and he was happy he could bond with her. Awesome.
She was so thrilled to have a new friend!!
@@SandersWildlifeEven Coyotes are getting friendzoned.
It looks like a coy dog. Half coyote and half dog. Its body posture is that of a dog and coyotes aren't solid black.
Yeah so great they captured it and put it in prison for no good reason, people suck.
@@dansiwek3593he would've ended up getting killed, he was too friendly.
Love these happy endings. It's obvious that this Coyote was around humans and was let go and he wanted back. What a perfect match! Awesome and they were so happy! The fear over for the neighborhood. From the looks of it, it was not a threat! Good choices!
Thank you guys for everything you do. Seeing him get all perked up and happy when you opened the cage with the female coyote made me all warm and fuzzy. 😊
I'm so glad Carmine found a forever home and companionship. It was obvious from the video of him playing and trying to make friends with dogs, that he was lonely and looking for a new pack.
I saw a coyote once in the parking lot at a former job; it was amazing. Never expected to see one close up. So cool.😊❤
Where I live, coyotes are a common sight along with skunks, racoons and opossums. There have been times where a coyote passes by me within three feet. They have never made an aggressive move towards me and seem as curious about me as I am about them. Still, I make sure my cats stay inside because they could get attacked if I don't
@@PaulaDautremont It's not common to see them where I live, so it was a treat. We have raccoons, possums, skunks and foxes come up on our porch because we care for stray and feral cats and they come for the water and food. We enjoy all the wild life.
Had a tom turkey and his harem of lady turkeys in our yard once, then they started down the sidewalk, him in front and the girls trailing after. Incredible thing to see and so funny.
@@PaulaDautremont❤
If you ever see one "playing" with your dog, they most likely aren't playing, the pack is close by and they're luring out their meal.
@@tlgmc1908 It was obvious from this vid that the coyote was playing not hunting. I know they are pack animals, but that wasn't the case here. This was an adolescent coyote looking for a new pack. He wasn't aggressive with the dogs in any way, simply curious and playful. Not an alpha at all.
I know that if you leave your cat or small dog outside at night, you might not get them back. Almost happened w/my cat Toby. Didn't know we had coyotes at the time. Had never heard them. Luckily Toby made it home, took him to the ER Vet and got him stitched up. No more outies at night after that. Toby was a rescued stray that we chipped and was an inside/outside cat that loved being out in nature, until nature said hello. Warned my new neighbor about the danger but he didn't care. Never liked that guy. Their cat came to our house a lot at night for food, water and shelter. She slept on my bed. Hello Smoky, wherever you are. You were loved. ❤😟🙏
So glad he’s now in a safe environment and not lonely anymore ! Bless this pup ❤
Coyotes are solitary animals. They ALL live alone🤣🤣
@user-ij9by5gt1p Not all of them have a new girlfriend like he does though😂
The will often roam by themselves when they are old enough to leave mom and dad! They also mate for life, so he has since found a life mate in Wilee!
Beautiful story 😮
@user-ij9by5gt1p "Coyotes are very social animals, they do not form packs but rather live in family groups. They will usually travel and hunt alone but sometimes join in loose pairs to take down prey. As a testament to their adaptability, coyotes have been known to even hunt cooperatively with other species!" - U.S National Park Service.
I have a pack that lives behind my house, they are always traveling together. Not all coyotes are solitary, it just depends.
That coyote was hand raised and some horrible person abandoned it thank you for taking care of them
Fun fact: Coyotes' coats are usually a mixture of tan, black, and gray, but they can range from full black to strawberry blond to almost white. ❤
Edit: I actually saw a whole pack once. With 3 members being the most common color and 2 more unique ones being full black and one full white. 😊
Carmine looks to be a coyote/Domestic dog. Beautiful boy. I'm glad he is safe.
Yes he kept looking to dogs and humans for a home

My late dog, Sadie, was a coyote cross. She looked like Carmine. Seeing him made my heart skip a beat... then watching to end.. happy happy tears. Thank you to everyone who made this safe new life possible for him and his gorgeous mate Winnie ❤❤❤
Coyote-dog hybrids, or coydogs, are produced by crossing coyotes with dogs. Coyote-dog hybrids can occur in the wild, usually in areas where the coyote range is expanding and other coyotes are hard to find.@@MB-ll1ql
@@MB-ll1ql What is a coyote cross?
Coydog - Wikipedia
A coydog is a canid hybrid resulting from a mating between a male coyote and a female dog. Hybrids of both sexes are fertile and can be successfully bred through four generations. Similarly, a dogote is a hybrid with a dog father and a coyote mother.

Carmine was someone’s pet which is why he was so tame.
cage trained too
coyotes do sometimes cross bread, and many have no fear of humans, the ones we have look around 50-60 lb and are not small.
@Blkjakk I Agreee
right
Neither. Coyotes are canids meaning they’re in the same family as dogs and wolves, but are different species. Dogs are more closely related to wolves than to coyotes
One of the best parts is, none of the dogs that the coyote played with, ever got hurt. The next best part is, he was rescued, and now has another coyote he can spend the rest of his life with.
They are not together anymore. The female left for a bullldog. Just got done reading the full story
The body language in the beginning when the coyote was trying to play with the dogs was actually pretty cute 😭
They are so beautiful
OH MY GODDD. The way he hops around on the pool cover in the puddles. So freakin' cute. I love how he just goes around the neighborhood playing with the dogs.
Right! Sooo adorable ❤❤
This little guy's story brought tears to my eyes. I'm so glad he was not killed, but instead moved to a safe location where he has a friend and can thrive! ❤
OMG he is so cute and such a good boy. He just wants a friend.
Wow… I feel like a move could be made out of him… glad he has a promising new chapter in his life ❤
When I was a teen I found a puppy on the side of the road with a deformed foot, turned out she was a coyote that was abandoned. She stayed on our property and never ventured elsewhere, she was the best pet ever. She would always burry half of her food, so she still had some of her instinct I think.
Good thing you never got caught up by the authorities, those buzz kills would have taken it from you.
wow i didnt know yotes squirrel their food
Strange coloring for a coloring for a coeyot😢😢
@@lindaharker6232 Coyotes living at high elevations tend to have more black and gray shades than their desert-dwelling counterparts :)
@@markus9415beautiful coloring. Asides from coat. Do they typically look like that? Bigger size and thicker coat?
A perfect example that not all people or animals are the same. Someone could have harmed him just because he is a coyote. They are so happy together and now they're safe and not alone. Thank you for this video! ❤️
Thank you for saving Carmine ❤
He is so beautiful!!
So happy for Carmine. He seems so gentle and probably would not have made it in the wild ❤
Your a moron, look how healthy it is? It plays with your local dogs like this and lures them to the pack to be eaten
❤❤
Wild aka happily fed by suburbia and plenty of spots to sleep safely. You would be surprised just how well they adapt to the human element. Currently there is a "wild" coyote that is roaming my children's school and playing with all the kids before school. He even sits next to the crossing guard and greets all the students as they cross the street. The kids have been asked by the principal through several emails not to pet him but every time i drive by, he always has a crowd of eager kids around him loving on him 😂.
I am just glad the coyote is ok
They are both gorgeous.
That’s the most beautiful love story I have seen on both sides, humans and wild life.
What a great story. Thanks to all the people who helped him on his journey to a safer life.
Thank you for all the support!!
Wow amazing

Is Carmine a cross breed? I've never seen a Coyote with such dark fur. He's very handsome. I'm glad he's safe, he was obviously a bit lonely.
I have come across many of the darker colors in the south. Not new down here
Dog/coyote is that a thing?
@@red3here Yes, coyotes and dogs can crossbreed. It's not very common though, and it's illegal to do it on purpose.
@@red3hereyes, coywolfs (wolf/coyote, sometimes dog mixes) exist, and coyote/dog mixes do exist

What a beautiful animal 😍
All my love and thanks to the people who rescued and now take care of him.❤
This is a very different coyote than I'm used to seeing. It's to calm. Living in the woods I see coyote quite often. Never saw one with that coloring either. I think it's been exposed to humans if not owned by one! I'm glad that the right people are able to care for it. It's a beautiful creature 😍 ❤️
pretty sure it's a coydog (coyote/dog hybrid)
the coloring could also be because of melanism, a rare mutation that can occur in coyotes and other animals !
@@TheAkwarium I agree, he's too calm and a bit bigger then a normal yote as well. Also has a forehead like a dog too.
Coyotes really do have a sweet and lovable side. All the nasty stuff you see is exactly what you could expect from your own precious pooch given a life in the wild. I love when these animals are given a chance like this, they really can be so unbelievably lovely.
So true
Tell that to my lil rescue Poodle mix Vee that was attacked in my backyard and my wallet for the emergency vet bill. Thankfully she is alive and well.
No, they aren't sweet and loveable they are wild predators. 🙄
Just remember those sweet animals are predators. They will play with even medium or large size pet dog and lure it back to the pack as food. Little dogs and cats are just grab and go. I have even seen a few news videos where a coyote ran up and tried to pull a baby right out of a stroller and one went right into a backyard family bbq and tried to drag off a toddler. So keep aware of predator side of cute stray or wild animals.
@@lf4061THANK YOU! Coyotes will pretend to be sweet and pretend to play with dogs so they can murder and eat them and lure them away. All these comments are concerning. If à coyote comes to your yard to play with your dogs, it was a PLANNED mission 😂 coyotes are clever

That is the most beautiful coyote I've ever seen.... He is just stunningly gorgeous!!!! And now his mate, Wilee, who is also beautiful.... They would make gorgeous pups, but I'm sure they aren't allowed to breed, understandably..... But they are both so beautiful! Thank you for capturing him and taking him to a place he can live his best life at...
They're probably both fixed, yes. Otherwise the sanctuary would have a semi domesticated animal problem, and that's the opposite goal of fixing some of the damage humans have done to animals in their lives.
@@wareforcoin5780 yes I would think they are most likely fixed..... They would soon run out of room at a sanctuary if they were allowed to breed, and not just them but others as well.....
