Made these at home and they were AMAZING!!! They weren't runny at all, they were creamy and delicious. 10/10 for the eggs, I just wish I had some homemade croissants and some smoked salmon to get the full intended flavor of this dish but I would 100% recommend you try this recipe
Dan Miller Dimitar Zlatarev Hey guys, it's not creme fraiche, it's regular cream. The kind of cream you would whip for a dessert, except it's not whipped.
It was probably 11 years ago that I showed this video to my Dad on Christmas Eve. It was early in the morning but he really liked it, thought it was something we should do, so I went out, picked up croissants, smoked salmon and more eggs. I remember the next day we were playing the video as he cooked along. When he first tried it, he actually exclaimed, "Oh my GOD!" It's now become a tradition in our family on Christmas. Thanks for this, Gordon.
You're not kidding, and neither was your dad. I saw Ramsay's recipe on whatever cooking competition show it aired on and because I HATE brown, hard, fried eggs, I thought I'd try it. First time around, I followed the recipe exactly (it included creme fraiche instead of cream), and yep - custardy yet somehow still fluffy perfection. But creme fraiche is not only a specialty item and can be a bit hard to find, but also pricy and quick to expire if you don't use it all up, the next go-'round substituted a small dollop of plain, whole milk yogurt (not reduced fat) - my pick was Fage, since upgraded to Siggi's or Skyr. Make sure you're using the whole milk version of PLAIN yogurt, not vanilla, as the packaging is almost identical and the vanilla has added sugar - NOT the ideal add-in to scrambled eggs - bleah). Worked like a charm, and I've been making them that way ever since. And I do believe my next round will include the smoked salmon and the toasted croissant. I knew they were rich in butter, but toasting them stovetop with no added oil or butter - that's genius. Thanks, Gordon! 😘
I don't even understand why he bothered adding cream after all that butter. Eggs are mild flavored, all you'll taste is butter/cream. I guess some people don't like the taste of eggs :p
why? he wasn't home,l he was at his restaurants working. secondly, they likely ate like most kids anyway because its his job and likely didnt cook for them or they had a cook who cooked for them, not him himself.
So many people getting salty over how much fat is being put into the eggs. He's a top chef known for delicious food, not healthy food. Go eat some celery or something if you're all so upset.
+4meterplus People complaining about how much fat he puts in the food while they are eating their pizzas, Big Macs and french fries. Seems legit to me #Kappa
+4meterplus Most people do not realize that in high end restaurants butter and salt are going to be used in a lot of dishes. Nobody goes to a fucking steakhouse to get steak cooked in nothing or vegetable oil. Butter and salt are a chef's two best friends.
If you pay attention to my words I'm not drunk I was telling Sapphirelia to jump into the video with me to have some of the food he made. But of course you being a dumbass does not know the definition of being sarcastic!!!!!
I made eggs like this for the first time and it is a world of difference. I don't use cream, but instead milk. I used to mix it all together in a bowl and cook them in a pan with butter, but they would always end up the same. Hardened rubbery masses that tasted like eggs, but were all around pretty bland. After making them like this I don't ever want to go back. I remember when I was younger my dad tried making them like this (he used to be a head chef at a popular restaurant, but he moved on to other things). He quit making them like that after I refused to eat them because I thought they weren't fully cooked. Gooey looking eggs have always been a sign to tell me they're undercooked, and while that IS true, there is obviously a difference between "cooked" and "overcooked", and EVERYWHERE I've ever gotten eggs, they're always overcooked. I've never been to a restaurant and been served eggs cooked like this, which is a damn shame because they're amazing. Although you really should go easy on the butter if you decide to cook them like this. Add just enough to coat the pan you're cooking them in so they don't stick and if you feel like you want to add more to it, then go ahead. Also it's very important that when you're doing this, do exactly what Gordon does and take the pan off the heat when breaking up the cooked eggs on the walls of the pan. If you don't do this it will definitely overcook and end up like all the shitty eggs we've all eaten for our whole lives.

Learning proper scrambled eggs (i used to make disgusting scrambled eggs) has changed so much for me, starting with my appreciation of mastering the basics, protein intake, and the transformations of flavor through cooking, i wish i could thank the legend himself
This is a very French way to cook scrambled eggs, you can tell from all the butter and cream. This is how Jacques Pepin cooks his scrambled eggs so its not just a Ramsay recipe, its a very old school way of doing it. If people are willing to eat processed food but say that these perfectly cooked eggs are bad for you, then I'm sorry, you have your priorities skewed.
Michael Jacquart The french tinge would be from Gordon's former teacher if I'm not mistaken. Marco Pierre White. And its not just the europeans that use butter to what the every day man would call excess. I come from a family of chef, and when we say, put a pinch of salt, or a knob of butter, would be considered far too much by most. But it makes the dishes' delicious, and I love my food, so why not.
Zertiof The cholesterol and olive oil is considered healthy. Any Oil (butter/lipid) that is solid at room temperature is generally not good for you since they're saturated fats)
***** Butter is entirely digestible, trans fats which like butter are solid are bad for you because its a synthetic unnatural product made from oil. They key thing is, butter is a natural product of 2000 years, olive and rape seed oil is, products like flex which stick to the roof of your mouth are a synthetic manufactured oil based fat which your body cannot deal with. The french smoke, eat cheese and butter like there is no tomorrow, eat fresh food not processed muck and live longer than the british and americans.
I followed Ramsay's recipe and the eggs were pretty damn good. It does take longer and requires a little more attention to get them just right. I thought they would be runny but they weren't. They were creamy and delicious. I realized I have been overcooking my eggs for the last 40 years.
Hey, You weren't over cooking your eggs for last 40 years, it was just different type of cooking. Eggs you felt over cooked might be american style scrambled egg while Gordon's style is UK style.
Suyoung Cho he is cooking them french style. if there is anything the french love it is rich foods. the british tend towards very hearty and usually quick foods. US generally is a mixture of different cultures depending on area.
Out of all the recipes, this was one of my favourites. I loves the idea of adding a small amount of eggs to the butter, really brings out the flavour!! 😆
This is my first recipe made ever as a 16 year old and i absolutely loved it!! however i didnt have any cream on hand so i just tried mixing it well, the butter did a remarkable job at keeping it creamy and fluffy, youd be surprised how much carryover heat cooks the egg and i found this lovely with toasted chroissant and white bread. however i do believe adding the salmon to the egg mixture wouldve been smarter as the cold salmon cooled the egg down a bit despite being on hot toast.
Because the UK is already the fattest country in Europe? and it's not just the butter but cream as well. And i recently went to England, and the amount of fast food crud of really horrible quality is amazing "as a dutch person"
Fat... doesn't make you fat. Sugar makes you fat. Saturated fat however possibly, may or may not, cause some heart problems/disease down the road. If you're eating this recipe daily... stop.
I care that the eggs are really creamy, I'd rather have regular scrambled eggs than that. I don't like my food to be too soft especially if it's like your eating something that's extremely soggy. Gordon tried to make something that is simple and delicious as is, fancy. To be honest gordon, this didn't impress me and same with alot of other people I showed it too. Also who the fuck puts parsley on egg? All you need is salt and pepper and butter and optionally cheese if it's a breakfast sandwich.
Wow, You're so smart you just repeat stupidity. When did butter cause heart attacks? Go talk to the French who eat more butter than anyone. Yet, they are skinny, health and live long. You're a brainwashed nut.
The same people crying about the butter probably live a life on Diet Coke and artificial sweeteners thinking, "Hur dur, I am so healthy with my magic 0 calorie, 0 sugar, 0 anything sugar. It must be so healthy and natural!"
You're ahead of your time! These people are pathetic. Isn't it amazing how a suggestion is put into simple minds and they go around repeating it like a bunch of parrots? They take more faith in chemicals and science than what was put on this earth (and is natural) for us to enjoy! Keep up the good fight.
socialdef3 Lol natural fats don't make people get fat and get heart disease, it's processed carbohydrates that screw people over. I imagine a lot of people learned about the food pyramid when they were younger, the food pyramid that said our diets should mostly be grains with very little fat, the same food pyramid that was created by the agricultural department of America, who surprise surprise, profits from people buying grains. Natural fats are good for us, do yourself a favour and kick the grains and processed carbohydrates, and stick to natural foods, your body will thank you.
iamdamasta1 The longest-living, healthiest people on Earth eat a mix of foods that includes grains. Look at the diets of Okinawans, Japanese, and traditional Mediterranean diets. Look at the makeup of teeth in humans: grain-grinding teeth outnumber meat-ripping and fruit-biting teeth for a reason.
I think people kind of forget that not everyone prefers or can even eat the same food. Some people require low carbohydrate diets, others are lactose intolerant, while some people are allergic to peanuts or some other kind of food item. This looks like a great recipe to pull off on a holiday morning, and this is coming from someone who is a health nut that counts calories and weighs himself everyday after workouts. =)
Watching Gordon's method of cooking scrambled eggs changed my life. I can't cook them any other way now. Now every time I eat someone else's scrambled eggs they seem so overcooked to me!
i just did my own kind of italian version with stuff i had in the fridge and it turned out great. i didn't have chives, salmon, creme or croissant. so i used dried oregano, prosciutto and milk as substitutes and it worked out well.
BEST scrambled eggs recipe EVER. All just a different technique. Hate fluffy, dry, eggs but never tried removing from heat to avoid. Worth making all year.
+Crosby4hyg - the British are known for their very "heavy on the butter" cooking. There was a show called "two fat ladies" and EVERY dish had a stick of butter in it. Every. Dish.
Gordon added a bit of eggs to his butter I see... haha nah I'm joking. I've made scrambled eggs following his method for over 50 times already I'm sure. Excellent. I use whole milk instead of cream or creme fraiche.
The scrambled eggs is the only recipe of his I have tried. well maybe one or two more. Anyway, it was the only recipe of ingredients of his I could afford to try. The eggs were absolutely delicious! the best I every had. of course I have only had them a couple of times. but they were consistently yummy.
there's 2 whole eggs in there, that's plenty rich protein-ated enough thanks (btw, your profile pic is a disc of butter or an egg-yolk?) and it's meant to be a seasonal-occasion breakfast, so maybe he's added a little bit more indulgence than per usual
Butter is sooo much better than margarine which people fail to realize often, it's natural and healthy and tastes better so don't be afraid to use real butter to make your dish taste better.
I just made it for my dad earlier this morning before he went to work. I used much less butter than Gordon despite only using 2 eggs and used a little bit of heavy cream instead of creme fresh. He loved it, and it really does smell fantastic toasting the croissant rounds. And it was even better when I made pancakes to complement this lovely breakfast dish so my father enjoyed the whole meal.
This is the only way I make scrambled eggs now. They have the perfect texture, creamy and delicate, they pile up like a little golden mountain on the fork.
Judging my the comment section, we are obviously watching an amateur cook that has no idea what he is doing... Have you guys every considered that the good old fashion way your mom taught your to make something, is fucking bad? I too thought this looked a little funky, right up until I fucking tried it. I will never make overcooked, spongy, dry scrambled eggs again.
+Salty Admiral "Have you guys every considered that the good old fashion way your mom taught your to make something, is fucking bad?"... News flash: if they've been eating it like that for years, it's obviously good in their opinion. I've tried Gordons way of making eggs. Went back to my old way the next morning. There are plenty of ways to make an egg, stop pretending like yours is the only right way.
Lets all stop argueing about whether or not this is right way to do it or not. Who decided what is the right way anyway? This is one persons take and if you don't like it then make it in a different way. Isn't cooking all about what tastes good? Who cares if for example someone's pasta isn't the Italian way? To me cooking and food is all about combining tastes that go well together and enjoying your food. Does it really matter if the way it's being prepared isn't the classic way? As long as the taste is good, what is the problem?
A lot of these people are taking Gordon's word for gospel and labeling all others as misguided because they listen to a 'Michelin Star Chef.' I can guarantee adding carbon to your meat when you sear on an iron is not the 'proper' way of doing things nor is it healthy or beneficial what-so-ever. Still, it's a more pleasing texture and adding the burned (and yes, it's burned no matter what smarmy cooking term you wanna use for it) flavor makes the dish more enjoyable. Gordon does the same thing.
Made these at home and they were AMAZING!!! They weren't runny at all, they were creamy and delicious. 10/10 for the eggs, I just wish I had some homemade croissants and some smoked salmon to get the full intended flavor of this dish but I would 100% recommend you try this recipe

Gordon Ramsay Can I use sour cream instead of cream fresh ? Is there really a big difference ? These are making me so hungry !
Dimitar Zlatarev yes, not a lot though. He uses creme fraiche usually which is similar to sour cream
Dan Miller Dimitar Zlatarev Hey guys, it's not creme fraiche, it's regular cream. The kind of cream you would whip for a dessert, except it's not whipped.
al201103 uh no... It's definitely not heavy whipping cream

and how did you reach that hypothesis?
+Anya615X almost all his recipes use crazy amounts of sugar salt and butter
I care that the eggs are really creamy, I'd rather have regular scrambled eggs than that. I don't like my food to be too soft especially if it's like your eating something that's extremely soggy. Gordon tried to make something that is simple and delicious as is, fancy. To be honest gordon, this didn't impress me and same with alot of other people I showed it too. Also who the fuck puts parsley on egg? All you need is salt and pepper and butter and optionally cheese if it's a breakfast sandwich.
+User those are chives. not parsley. do you even listen? he clearly said chives
Eating a fucking toast with peanut butter
And Gordon Ramsay is eating this
i'm the exact same
fuck my life
Well think of it this way. He's teaching how to make it at home so that you can enjoy it. :-)
+katarzyna I bet ur 6 year old can't make it as good as his... so learn bro
God dude whyyy u gotta fight with ppl man? Why cant we all love each other
My life In A Nutshell
Why am i sitting here at night, hungry and watching him cooking such delicious meals :/
Theres enough butter in the eggs to give you a heart attack right after you finish eating it.
there so much oil in that egg the united state is going to invade it.
***** oh my god..ur comment made my day
***** This, sir, was genius.
Wow, You're so smart you just repeat stupidity. When did butter cause heart attacks? Go talk to the French who eat more butter than anyone. Yet, they are skinny, health and live long. You're a brainwashed nut.
drummerchef851
Perhaps you should take a breath and calm down.
Natural fats are good for us, do yourself a favour and kick the grains and processed carbohydrates, and stick to natural foods, your body will thank you.
iamdamasta1 And is butter good for you?
iamdamasta1 The longest-living, healthiest people on Earth eat a mix of foods that includes grains.
Needs some more butter
Dave maybe another nob
Ayyyyyyyyyy let’s go ducks lol
Dave who are u to advice him?
Panda Playz who are u to question him?
@@caitystepleton8938 it would be to fattening
Gordon Ramsey's family is so lucky to have a father who makes food for them , I could just about make a cup of tea
Watching Gordon's method of cooking scrambled eggs changed my life. I can't cook them any other way now. Now every time I eat someone else's scrambled eggs they seem so overcooked to me!
0:27 "And incredibly easy to do." yeah easy for you to say. All I got at home is instant ramen.
+Christian Kim go shopping
+Christian Kim Literally - if you want the eggs just use a pan, eggs and butter. that's it.
i just did my own kind of italian version with stuff i had in the fridge and it turned out great. i didn't have chives, salmon, creme or croissant. so i used dried oregano, prosciutto and milk as substitutes and it worked out well.
BEST scrambled eggs recipe EVER. All just a different technique. Hate fluffy, dry, eggs but never tried removing from heat to avoid. Worth making all year.
I just made this for myself, just go easy on the butter
any other tips??
+Christian Last go really really easy on the butter
+Christian Last try and add a bit more egg to your butter
LMFAO!
Y
Would you like some eggs with your butter Mr. Ramsay? Better not forget the cream in case it comes out too light and healthy!
That's why it's a holiday dish! Life's short, so sometimes it's ok to eat a little butter and cream
Rickitard Lol I know I was just playin.
+Crosby4hyg - the British are known for their very "heavy on the butter" cooking. There was a show called "two fat ladies" and EVERY dish had a stick of butter in it. Every. Dish.

+Kevin Richards Rock the Stage NYC you watched a show called "Two fat ladies" and you expected healthy food? :P
Gordon added a bit of eggs to his butter I see...
haha nah I'm joking. I've made scrambled eggs following his method for over 50 times already I'm sure. Excellent. I use whole milk instead of cream or creme fraiche.
Marco screaming on how fast he cooked thoes eggs
i tryed it.....
oh my god
+ahmad deeb Wish I had a picture of your attempt xD
No you fucking didn't
I want to live in the Ramsay household every month there is a holiday.
Castiel Novak he probalby hates cooking when he has a day off
I always love seeing the comment sections of these videos full of backseat cooks telling a professional chef how he's doing it wrong.
we can see the voice and actions of gordon is consistent until now. what a person
The scrambled eggs is the only recipe of his I have tried. well maybe one or two more. Anyway, it was the only recipe of ingredients of his I could afford to try. The eggs were absolutely delicious! the best I every had. of course I have only had them a couple of times. but they were consistently yummy.
How does salmon naturally sit?
+drcheekyisback ITS FUCKING RAWWWWW, FEED THAT TO YOUR DOG AND HE'LL REFUSE!!

Fucking hell...all I eat in my house is cereal

Chef ramsay's a fucking genius i swear
Cook book: how much butter needed?
Gordon: YES
There's so much butter used for his eggs. Can't say I object to the idea though.
there's 2 whole eggs in there, that's plenty rich protein-ated enough thanks (btw, your profile pic is a disc of butter or an egg-yolk?)
and it's meant to be a seasonal-occasion breakfast, so maybe he's added a little bit more indulgence than per usual
There is at least three eggs in there.
Yeah. I noticed that they always rely on butter or cream to make everything tasty..
The qwasans
Dashie HAAAAP! The puuuuh

A salmon, egg and cheese crussant is one the best tasting breakfast sandwhiches you’ll ever have. Trust me they are delicious
Lovely, but don't eat it often, otherwise you will have an ass and stomach the same size as Trump's.

Whos watching this after seeing the MPW version?
This is the only way I make scrambled eggs now. They have the perfect texture, creamy and delicate, they pile up like a little golden mountain on the fork.
On the heat. Off the heat.
JC Dela Cruz omg😂😂😂
Ramsay: "It looks rich, delicious, sumptuous, luxurious!"
Also Ramsay: "We're talking about scrambled eggs!"
I don't know much about him but I'm sure Gordon Ramsay is pretty well known and no amateur ;)
Learned this recipe from Gordon a few years back and my scrambled eggs have been outstanding ever since. Thank a lot buddy!
A lot of these people are taking Gordon's word for gospel and labeling all others as misguided because they listen to a 'Michelin Star Chef.'
I can guarantee adding carbon to your meat when you sear on an iron is not the 'proper' way of doing things nor is it healthy or beneficial what-so-ever. Still, it's a more pleasing texture and adding the burned (and yes, it's burned no matter what smarmy cooking term you wanna use for it) flavor makes the dish more enjoyable. Gordon does the same thing.
I made this yesterday for lunch and it was so delicious that I made it again for breakfast!!!!😋 Thank you Chef Ramsey!!!
He's truly Marco's pupil.
Seeing Gordon Ramsey all rainbows and butterflies makes me uneasy.
Ever since I saw this I've been making them this way. they really are delicious and creamy. so yummy!
I can a mean bowl of Corn Flakes.
Come at me Ramsay!
Hot pan!

5 words I never thought I’d hear Gordon Ramsay say “No seasoning at this stage” 😂
This dish never fails.
Me: watching this at midnight when I’m hungry but can’t get a snack.
I want that Crwaasah´. They look amazing.
that's a TON of butter! Wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to much for 2, 3 eggs!
I just did the eggs and by god does the butter make a difference. Even without the cream, the eggs were extremely rich and delicious! 👍🏽
Imagine Gordon cooking for you everyday
I want him to be my dad
Son why
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Hey camera man, can you zoom in a bit more? I wanna see the atoms of the food
I always think of your family and the way you serve them, it must be a warm family
