I am in love with this Q3 sportback,it's so unique from other Audi cars which are carry over from previous generation. I shall own one. Good review Tom.
Hey Tom, could you guys at chasing cars also do more lifestyle and day to day vids along side the reviews? Like maybe tips on driving manual Buying your first car What to look when buying How to prepare your car for off roading etc. Your reviews are some of the best we get in Australia and maybe it’d be good to see a wide range of things being shown on this amazing channel.
Great review Tom - love the colour however I would want the Golf GTI engine in this swoopy coupe SUV which looks so sharp and the interior looks great 👍
Great review was planning to go for the SQ-2 with the Golf R engine which is a cracker but, this is a really good package too and albeit less power than the might SQ-2 but ergonomically it wins more points, plus the Q2 and SQ-2 are being phased out with production set to end in 2024, so that means you could end up snapping up a bargain on the SQ-2 or enjoy a little room whilst still getting a very sporty drive from the Audi Q3 - Sportback - 40TFSI. Not an easy choice.
Pretty! Love it, might consider buying even. The only problem is that it does not share interior design with higher class Audi’s. Good review as always, Tom and the team.
Thanks, Siquan! While the cabins have less content the trade off is that these lower end Audis actually rattle less... that broad piece of piano black on the dash in the larger cars is a real rattle magnet. These smaller Audis don’t have that.
Chasing Cars good to know that, lol, so I don’t need to tell people I am too poor to buy a Q8, I can say now “it rattles too much and I don’t like it”.
audi stopped selling both the Q3 and Q3 sportback here in singapore due to the chip shortage. The dealer doesn't even have an estimate when they'll have it back in stock. Guess i'll just have to look for a 2nd hand
Great review as always. Which would be your pick between the Audi Q3 Sportback TFSI 40 and the Volvo XC40 R Design? Almost the same price, similar size albeit two slightly different packages and focuses.
Because I like to have a good fang every now and again, I would personally choose this Q3 in 40 TFSI guise. That said, the XC40 is the more practical, better-looking SUV to my eyes and it deserves its many accolades. Pity it's thirsty, and doesn't offer keen drivers all that much to write home about.
Chasing Cars Thanks! I am looking for that fang-ability, and while I loved the all round practicality, looks and comfort of the XC40, I was left wanting more in driving feel. Interestingly, spec wise, the XC40 T5 engine has more grunt on paper than the 40 TFSI, but driving it, it felt somewhat gutless and more SUV roll than I was hoping for given the sports suspension. I was hoping the Q3 Sportback delivers more of a drivers car, and from your review, I think it might!
It would be great if u share the price details of all cars that u r doing review in the very beginning of the vidoe.. cos there isn't any point of going through all the details if it doesn't fit budget.
Great review, what would you recommend out of the Q3 40tfsi, Evoque p250 SE or E-pace chequered flag? Have gotten similar prices for them during negotiations.
I'd go the Audi for better ownership prospects and better driving dynamics, but I'd put the pressure on the dealer to match Benz, JLR and Volvo's new five year warranty arrangements.
If the performance difference doesn't bother you, then that sort of saving is very tempting. I'd just avoid the 35 TFSI's stock stereo if you like your music to sound clear.
Chasing Cars interesting. It says if you get the 35tfsi, you can’t option the B&O or the 10 speaker set up. That’s reserved for the launch edition and then with the launch edition, you can then option the B&O. If I do get the launch edition, I’m sure 10 speakers will be enough for essentially what will be my wife’s car and to take a baby and dog around. So speakers aren’t much of an issue. I’ll just stick to driving my Tiguan highline for abit of power. Be interesting to see what I get back in terms of pricing. A lot of them weren’t willing to budge much..but the broker seems to have other ideas..
the Audi lineup gets really confusing...wonder how they manage to supply spareparts for all those different models, lines and trimms in a couple of years...
Anyone know if they are offering the option for the black badges and model info? I’ve seen it in overseas models on you tube clips. There is a black exterior style pack option in Australia, but it does not seem to over the badges and model info.
I see a lot of Citroen C4 in the profile (albeit on stilts). I thought if people wanted a stylish Q3, they bought a Q2. What is this Q3 Sportback, a curvy Q2?
Interesting! Yeah, look, the lineup is getting complex but this is more practical than a Q2 in terms of back seat space and boot space - plus the interior materials are more premium, and the tech is more comprehensive
As always, enjoy your very informative review.👍 Would love to see how it compares with its cheaper cousin, the VW TRoc which is of the similar engine output, expected in Australia in August.
Thanks, Michael. We should set that one up for when the T-Roc arrives in Australia. So, so many delays on that car! Contrast that to Audi, who managed to get the Q3 Sportback here not long after the global launch. Ouch!
I think that’s a good summary. The fact is the lineup is getting a bit confused but in isolation this works well - good size and nice design without compromising practicality in a big way. Agree... where are the four rings on the engine cover? What happened there! The 35 TFSI gets it....
@@chasingcars Yeah, I was looking at the Audi line up while watching this video to understand their line up -- it kind of has a cascading effect. German car makers do a spin off of a current SUV into a coupé and usually compliment either a bigger/smaller version of it. Non-German car makers will make a new model entirely. But yeah, definitely a golden sized SUV with pizzazz and substance. It looks like the post-it note for the "attach Audi badge here" fell off when putting the final touches on the car.
Not sure why they’re going for this chunky shifter in the cheaper cars - but also not a fan of the new A3’s fiddly little.... thing. What’s wrong with the shifter they use in the current Q5 etc?
I am in love with this Q3 sportback,it's so unique from other Audi cars which are carry over from previous generation. I shall own one. Good review Tom.
The best presentation of this car in TH-cam! Thks
Thanks, Pedro.
Just ordered mine in white. Great review!
One of the most decent reviews of this car on YT. Good job.
Thanks a lot!

I am like you, not a fan of SUV Coupes, but I think Audi nailed it! It suits it, doesn't look overly designed. Great Review as usual 👏
Thanks!
Can you please do a comparison of the 2021 Merc GLA and the Q3?
Great review Tom - love the colour however I would want the Golf GTI engine in this swoopy coupe SUV which looks so sharp and the interior looks great 👍
Agree the 169TSI or 180TSI would be a great fit here.
RSQ3 out of budget, and Q3 40TFSI not fast enough. I feel you T.T
I usually dislike small crossovers but Audi nailed the design on this sportback variant
Agree. They’re doing well design-wise I reckon.
Audi are the only ones that make good looking “coupe” suvs imo!
I think that’s true!

Could you review RSQ3 ?!! Gonna be amazing !
When it comes out in Australia, sure!
It looks better than the sedan but probably cramped rear seat Great review & effort, I'm sure you'll achieve your 100k subs sooner than you expect
Thanks! Appreciate your support.
Hermosa camioneta! Buen video! Saludos desde México 🤓

Lol, true.
I think it’s a pretty sweet looker and car in general. I’d have one in that bright green 👍🏻
The bright green is such a wonderful colour. Good to see Audi experimenting with bold hues!
Great review! I love the look of the new Q3 Sportback -
Thanks, Erwin!
Whats the better gearbox, manual or s tronic?
The Audi Australia website says you can also get the 40 TFSI in the standard Q3.

is this the glacier white or the dew silver? Thank you :)
I’m loving this. The Q2 is as practical as a hot wheels car!
😂
Very sweet looking & beautiful Car.
I have the RS in Nardo grey with full vorsprung spec. It’s a hell of a motor comfortable stylish and blisteringly fast
The new RSQ3? Cool
Chasing Cars yes the new one ordered it in December took delivery of it at the beginning of March 👍🏽😎
Awesome, glad you are enjoying it. Looking forward to driving the RS Q3 myself when it lands in Australia.
Great video! What fuel comsumption did you get on the 40TFSI? Thanks
About 9L/100km.
Tom, If you had choice between the 40tfsi s line Vs. 40Tfsi sline sportback which would you choose?
The Sportback is sexier IMO
what are those "buttons" and the back of the steering wheel ? they're too small for changing gears, right ?
It would be great if u share the price details of all cars that u r doing review in the very beginning of the vidoe.. cos there isn't any point of going through all the details if it doesn't fit budget.
Will they redesign Q2 with this aesthetic? Who is Q3 and who is Q2 for?
is this the 40 TFSI or 35 TFSI??

I'd go the Audi for better ownership prospects and better driving dynamics, but I'd put the pressure on the dealer to match Benz, JLR and Volvo's new five year warranty arrangements.
Chasing Cars do you think it’s worth stepping up to the 40tfsi or better to save $12-15K and go a 35tfsi with a style pack?
Audi offering 3 years warranty and 3 years free service, evoque and e-pace 5 years warranty and 5 years free servicing.
If the performance difference doesn't bother you, then that sort of saving is very tempting. I'd just avoid the 35 TFSI's stock stereo if you like your music to sound clear.

please advise how to increase the ride height (ground clearance) of the Audi RSQ3 for off road use but not the extreme off road trail type???
Not sure, we don’t do modification advice - I’m sure someone could do it for you, but it sounds pretty warranty-voidy
the Audi lineup gets really confusing...wonder how they manage to supply spareparts for all those different models, lines and trimms in a couple of years...

i'm gonna buy it in 3 years :)
Good plan
Me too in two years
Coupes are silly but Audi makes it better
True, and I think the Audi ones are not so round and egg-like
When is it being sold in the USA
never…
Very nice proportions
Thanks! Oh, you meant the car...
Can’t wait for RS Q3 😎
Agree, should be a good drive if it isn’t too stiff. This 40 TFSI is damped so beautifully.
Gorgeous car.. Like all Audi’s.
How come the same number plate is on the white and blue car?
One ends in Y and one in W
Such a nice car, but why wouldn’t Audi put in a panoramic sunroof? 🔆
I see a lot of Citroen C4 in the profile (albeit on stilts). I thought if people wanted a stylish Q3, they bought a Q2. What is this Q3 Sportback, a curvy Q2?

It’s all good until the Mechantronic fails in the DSG box . Make sure you take a long term warranty cos it’s not cheap to fix 😂
I can’t wait for the RS model to come to Australia 🇦🇺
Sounds like a lot of people are really excited by the RS Q3!
It looks great. I actually like it better in the ivory color than it that blue. But, Audi, please get rid of the fake vents in front!
Yeah, the grey gives it quite a different persona. I definitely give Audi some praise though for experimenting with bolder colours in recent years.
As always, enjoy your very informative review.👍

Chasing Cars Look forward to, Tom.
Love q8 more !
Fair enough, but it's so much bigger and more expensive! The Q3 SB is like a mini version of that.
Twice the price though.
Very handsome car. Just would'nt last.
This or CX-30? ...
This, though it’s much more expensive. If you’ve got $40k then go a CX-30
Chasing Cars how much is this one?
This one is over $66k before on road costs as it appears in the video.
So this is basically the baby Q8 as the Q5 is the baby to the Q7?
Also that engine looks very plain w/o an insignia on the engine cover.
I think that’s a good summary. The fact is the lineup is getting a bit confused but in isolation this works well - good size and nice design without compromising practicality in a big way. Agree... where are the four rings on the engine cover? What happened there! The 35 TFSI gets it....

Hank
such a sexy car.
That gear knob looks really chunky and plasticky and door handle is upside down which is annoying lol

Chasing Cars couldn’t agree more.
5:44 is sooo cute :-)
Swoopy!
Have you cleaned those dirty shoes yet ? Its high time !!!!!
The sky blue colour of Q3 looks disgusting. I wonder which fool in the Audi team introduced that colour.
