I’m curious, I can see where mildew/mold has darkened the logs since the previous staining. It looks like you have stained over this, or did you take some kind of precautions to prevent this cause sing an issue down the road?
Did you ever consider answering any of these questions? The only one you answered (how long will this last?), from everything I'm learning, there's nothing on the market that will last 5-7 years.
I stain log homes, nothing last that long. You've got to think of all the natural things that break it down, and nothing breaks something down better than nature.

Can you cover windows before power wash.... to hep keep water away from windows? My parents windows got ruined when painters power washed

В перечень работ у меня входит шлифлвка (снятие старого слоя) антисептирование, обеспыливание после шлифовки, покраска в 2 слоя нанесение кистью масла, или красок професиональных, и на этом бревне я б посоветовал хозяевам герметизацию швов и трещин в древесине (теплый шов). Я за эту работу беру за квадратный метр 10$ и за теплый шов я беру 1$.50 за метр погонный! Все работы делаю материалом, краской заказчика, он покупает, а я только советую, моя работа, мои руки и мой инстру ент! Сколько в Америке или Канаде стоят такие работы??? Спасибо за ответ большое!!!!

How often do you need to re-stain the logs?
I wish I could show pictures of my log home after 16 years from the original stain job. That would destroy the STUPID idea of extensive maintenance on log homes.
I am guessing the log home "painters", and "restorers", suggest restraining the entire structure every 3 to 5 years, which is a BULL, just to make more money.
My house after all these years now requires washing, and staining of two walls, South and West with exposure to a brutal sunburn and rain, other two walls are in perfect condition and maybe just slightly washed to get the dust and grime off.
I used the 2 step process or rather 4 step, - wash, Borax, stain, and topcoat for UV protection.

@@pauljastrzebiec-milewski4410 what’s he borax do? I’m in a similar situation just two sides need to be done but I have to remove the old stain first. And you say do a top coat, I thought that was within the stain already
What kind of sprayer and nozzle were used
Biggest thing these days (Make NO mistake.) Is choosing truly good log finishing system and following manufacturer’s directions. Many have left the finishing of log structures to others because of VOC requirements eliminating the old formulations that more easily worked well.
Logs have certain characteristics that require special considerations.

How would you prepare logs that are severely weathered and discolored before applying stain?
I have a log home that has what appears to be fiberglass insulation between the logs. This appears to have been stained over in the past. There is no chinking done to this house. Is there supposed to be chinking done to it? Was built in 85’

Depending on the house, this product lasts 5-7 years.
The comment made about not getting enough material on with a brush is false spraying won’t last 2 to 3 years
