Kapok makes me nostalgic! When I was in primary school, we hade to make a puppet and we had to fill it with kapok. We made the puppet from scratch and had to knit the clothes with wool. That was such a pleasant time....and great memories.

There used to be a fat, large thorny Kapok tree in my daddy's village house in BAINDOOR, INDIA. It was almost 50 years and 100+ feet high. From its cotton my dad had made 4 huge beds for 8 people. Sad that area and the tree is no more.
A huge building stands today in its place. 😔😔😔

This tree is native to southern Mexico and Central America. We called it Ceiba, There is even a city in Honduras named for the tree, La Ceiba. There was a giant specimen growing in the middle of a street in barrio Las Cabañas, San Pedro Sula. People respected the tree and wouldn't cut it down.
