    such a great video, explaining the range of temps and which ones you've found that works. I'm a big fan of using temp controllers for tanks with heaters. thanks for putting the C and the F for temps also, makes it easier so I don't have to convert to c. keep up the great work!

    Outstanding video. I knew they could handle cool water, but didn’t know optimum temperatures for breeding. Thank you so much. 👍🏾

      Lol, yeah, where most my tanks are is in a walk in closet in the far northwest corner of house, which is usually where the wind comes from. So room struggles to stay heated and its in a closet not the lowest level tanks need some help. Just replaced that heater that took a crap 5 minutes ago lol,.it was down to 65.7. Right now we are in a in a wind advisory and its 22, first real cold nights for us this season this week.

    I am currently doing a no heater setup. Our apartment is around 68-75F depending on the season. It is winter here. Shrimps are still breeding at 70-72F. on top of that, I do not have any covers. Less water evaporation because of the lower temps. I can't complain when I do less water refill and shrimps are still breeding.

    • @MarkShellyAquatics
      @MarkShellyAquatics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, lower temps means less problems and healthier shrimp.

      Bristlenose plecos do not. Other plecos have a good chance of eating shrimp.

      Yeap, not needed unless you can see your breath lol. Only reason I use them in floor tanks is to keep them breeding in winter. Where most my tanks are is a closet on the far northwest corner of the house, it can get a lot colder there than anywhere else in house.
