After being in the hobby 4 to 5 years, this is the first time I have heard of a heat controller! Thank you!!!
I had been in the hobby for longer than that before I ever heard of one as well lol. Thanks for watching 👍
I use heat controllers
Thanks for sharing. Always interesting to hear information from experienced shrimp keepers
Thanks for watching!
I have a Ebo Jaeger heater that is 35 years old and still works great.
Lol, they dont make them like that anymore
Great video thanks for sharing your experience ❤
Thank you for watching 👍
Super information. Thank you for this post.
Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks for sharing.😁
Thanks for watching 👍
Best video with aquarium heating, i was watching. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for watching 👍
such a great video, explaining the range of temps and which ones you've found that works. I'm a big fan of using temp controllers for tanks with heaters. thanks for putting the C and the F for temps also, makes it easier so I don't have to convert to c. keep up the great work!
Thanks bud 👍
Outstanding video. I knew they could handle cool water, but didn’t know optimum temperatures for breeding. Thank you so much. 👍🏾
You're welcome man 👍
👍 Thanks
👍
Not a heater one, in the racks, and I am in Alaska, the house is warm enough for the shrimp and my family ... Great video, and Thank you for sharing!
Lol, yeah, where most my tanks are is in a walk in closet in the far northwest corner of house, which is usually where the wind comes from. So room struggles to stay heated and its in a closet not the lowest level tanks need some help. Just replaced that heater that took a crap 5 minutes ago lol,.it was down to 65.7. Right now we are in a in a wind advisory and its 22, first real cold nights for us this season this week.
@@MarkShellyAquatics Warm here right now it's 29 degree outside, but a sweet 74 degree inside ... lol
@Arctic Winds most the house is 72, lol, just not on the floor, in the back closet lol
I am currently doing a no heater setup. Our apartment is around 68-75F depending on the season. It is winter here. Shrimps are still breeding at 70-72F. on top of that, I do not have any covers. Less water evaporation because of the lower temps. I can't complain when I do less water refill and shrimps are still breeding.
Yep, lower temps means less problems and healthier shrimp.
How often do you perform water changes due to how much you feed?
I do weekly 20 to.30% water changes
What’s the best place to purchase shrimp?
Lol, markshellyaquatics.com of course 😉
Do you need a pump or filter?
Technically you dont have to, but I definitely reccemend it, especially if you are starting out.
The pleco don't eat the shrimp?
Bristlenose plecos do not. Other plecos have a good chance of eating shrimp.
In my experience most of Sulawesi shrimp need a heater
Yes. This video is about Neocaridina
@@MarkShellyAquatics neocaradina don’t need heaters even most caridina shrimp don’t need heaters but if it gets under 0 degrees Celsius for 2+ days then it’s better to have one.
@@_invertico_ did you watch the video?
@@MarkShellyAquatics yeah I did,you also said that the glass heaters are trash which I agree 💯
You mean -28c not 28c, which is a bit high if anything
? I forget the - or something lol
@@MarkShellyAquatics yes, you said in your area you gets down to….then the graphic said 28c, which is tee shirt weather. Otherwise a great video. I have a unsheathed kill tank in my garage, so it never gets warm but will go below freezing this winter…the shrimp are fine, no breeding but the size is noticeable bigger than my breeding tank
@Cress Poobear lol, man, just rewatched the video and there is a - sign in there lol
Your right, there is a - there…I have no idea why thought it wasn’t there, apparently in a idiot lol ….still great video.
@@cresspoobear1904 lol, no worries
I never use one. I been keeping shrimp for over 5 Years.
Yeap, not needed unless you can see your breath lol. Only reason I use them in floor tanks is to keep them breeding in winter. Where most my tanks are is a closet on the far northwest corner of the house, it can get a lot colder there than anywhere else in house.
Just say no to heaters in shrimp tanks lol
Yep
What about winter 🥶?
