      Thanks bud. Looks like I may have a food only shipping option. So if the mix is 12 on normal order, there will be a food option for around 15 that will include 1st class shipping. Still working on figuring that part out. Did all my research and ordering equipment and supplies today and have a ball park figure of around 4 to 5 dollars per ounce. Still cheaper than even aqueon brand shrimp food. Some of the top brands are 15 to 18 bucks for 1.2oz. Hikari sales some kind of shrimp food thats 5 bucks for a 0.35oz little container. I think i can be cheaper and better than most, so decided to start with a test run, I did end up buying 1000 labels lol, 200 realable bags that I can heat seal in 2 different sizes, heat sealer, and scales. Have enough food on hand to make 20 4oz bags, may offer 2 and 4oz sizes, but not sure yet.

    One of the many things I like about shrimp is they are perfectly happy and healthy at room temps.

    Great video ! Not a heater one in any of my shrimp tanks. Here in Alaska we hardly see a few days over 75 degrees summer and in the winter I try to keep the house at 70 degrees, so good for the shrimp all year round. 😊👍

    That was awesome to see Mark’s Shrimp tanks pretty much make a whole video about you. That’s awesome!! Hope you get a big PoP!!!! Ever need me to help you keep up let me know. I’m doing good with your bloody Mary’s and super reds with breeding. Let’s get more tanks breeding the Mark Shelly way. Neos, plants, plecos, 3 types of snails and blasting sand. Black of course. I have 3 tanks set up like Mark’s.

    Once I was placed in an unfortunate situation where the city got a huge cold front and left my tanks a week without power. I lost everything but my CPDs and my neocaradinas. Tanks dropped pass the low 50s and what seems to me. All of them survived

    • @MarkShellyAquatics
      @MarkShellyAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah 50s doesn't bother them. They do stop breeding below mid 60s, but they handle cold pretty well. I ship shrimp through the winter except for when its ridiculously cold. The hardest shipping times are early spring when its legit hot down south and still below freezing in Indiana where I ship from. Had some where is was 20s for me so had to use heat pack but where they went to in Florida was already in the 90s.

    I was gonna try my shrimp in my bn pleco breeding tanks it’s usually around 76-78 , I run heaters I check the temp every time I feed which is 2-3 times a day. I don’t have a heat controller at this time.

    • @MarkShellyAquatics
      @MarkShellyAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They would be good, but I would definitely get a heat controller when you can. I have lots of plecos in tanks without heaters that stay around 70, they do good.

    Is it ok to keep them at room temp (without any heating) it can go down to 12-13 degrees celcius in winter, but most of the year is a stable 20, in summer it can get as high as 27

    • @MarkShellyAquatics
      @MarkShellyAquatics  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bare minimum I would wanna keep them at is around 16C.

  • @user-ef6cm7vu4m
    @user-ef6cm7vu4m 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hey mark my shrimp are at 73f I do have a heater with a temp controller blue inkbird just incase do you think this is a perfect temperature I don’t want it in the 60s but I don’t want it high temp either I’m thinking 73 would be best what do you think

    • @MarkShellyAquatics
      @MarkShellyAquatics  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I dont think you can go wrong 68 to 80 really. 73 is in the perfect zone for sure 👍

    How closely do you match temperature when you do water changes?

    • @MarkShellyAquatics
      @MarkShellyAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just match it by feel. Done a lot of water changes so pretty good at getting it close by touch. Its not perfect but its close enough.

    So I bought 10 blue dreams off ebay n I got 12 shrimp but one of them have a black head n tail n clear body does that mean my blue dreams I got won't bread true I didn't say anything about it cuz none have died off n its been 4 days since I put them n my tank

    • @joshwhitworth8361
      @joshwhitworth8361 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Breed

    • @MarkShellyAquatics
      @MarkShellyAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just a lower quality shrimp. Included as a free shrimp I'm sure you got 12 and paid for 10. If it bothers you and you want the best shrimp just remove the lesser one. If you wanna breed even 1 line seriously you need a place to put the culls.

    • @joshwhitworth8361
      @joshwhitworth8361 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a place for the culls wish I would of seen it before I put it n the tank but the culls r going to be cichlid snacks

    • @joshwhitworth8361
      @joshwhitworth8361 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do u think it'll be fine if I go into the tank n get it out with them all just being put n there cuz its not going to be easy its a really heavily planted tank

    • @MarkShellyAquatics
      @MarkShellyAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they'll be ok, just be careful to disturb the tank as little as possible 😉
