    Believe me I'm a white American and it's not just Asians who think Americans aren't disciplining their kids enough. We think the same thing.
    I think it's more of a generational thing. I'm the youngest child, and both of my parents were also the youngest child. But my parents are considered old for someone my age. They are the age of my friends grandparents. If my grandparents were still alive they would be between 110 and 130 years old now. So I was raised with an older generation's set of values. I look at how people my age (mid 30's) raise their kids as very undisciplined. They just let them run wild, even in public. That crap did not fly in our family growing up.

      Well I meant everybody else. Ofc the parents doing this don't see anything wrong with what they're doing. That's why they're doing it

    So true about all white people being Americans. First discussion with almost every person I met in China:
    "American?"
    "No, Finland."
    "...what?"
    "Europe"
    "Ah..."

    • @probablyrajir638

      Haha! Even worse than "Oh, Ireland?"

    • @Tanerion
      @Tanerion 9 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yes. Because you can just say "No, Iceland" while we have to give them the whole song and dance about how it's not the "Pharaoh Islands" and how that very idea is stupid because Egypt isn't exactly known for its islands. And then we have to explain very carefully where it's located and how it has all modern conveniences (like electricity) despite its small size. (¬_¬)

      Usually when asian/latino/black-americans say "white people", they mean american white people. Here in the states, i dont think we have many european immigrants. The only european immigrants i know are university professors lol

    The thing you said about not taking care of our aging relatives is mostly true (of all of the people I know, I know zero who have cared for their parents or grandparents). One reason you did not discuss is that a lot of our old people don't want their families to take care of them. They are embarrassed, or they don't want to burden their families, or they just aren't comfortable with the change in power dynamics at home.

      +OhmySweetlittleBlackheart There is a lot of Anime that portrays young girls with adult "looking" bodies, and full boobs, while speaking in a child like innocent fashion... Be sure your "SweetlittleBlackheart doesn't lead you to eternal suffering, sometimes when we are so deep in the world, we can't see the larger picture, because we become magnets to our own sins!
      Aside from what people say they're NOT into, God knows what's hidden in our hearts, though our mouths will never betray us, and though we may speak contrary to that which is in our hearts, one sin leads easily into another, do not be deceived into thinking otherwise, for I'd rather face the harsh reality of the truth, than to deceive my heart with comforting lies...
      This should not even be a topic of conversation, because it can easily go into the entire adult "genre" of content that leads entire civilizations to destruction; Who knows this as well as China itself, the dangers of a beautiful woman! Anime breeds disrespect, and when females are portrayed sensually, leads to such stereotypes as what people have! Doesn't keep people from clicking and watching it, none the less! Every nation has a problem with this type of immorality, and when sin becomes normal, then righteousness becomes an unwelcome outcast! We should seek for truth and run from this sort of thing; It's not easy, but the alternative consequence isn't much favorable either!

    • @cOr3t3ecks
      @cOr3t3ecks 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! Why is it that the Wachowski Brothers... errrr... Siblings used white people for Speed Racer. Why was Ghost in the Shell not a Japanese social commentary like the original? Not everything can be fitted into the American lifestyle without totally disemboweling the whole reason a particular manga began. First you have to know that for the most part American Manga lovers don't expect or even want these things Americanized. They already know, hope they know or think they know the subtext of the stories. They, we, ask questions about it. Usually those questions are to Japanese people who are more than willing to tell you why certain things are important in the stories. Things you may have thought of as being somewhat inconsequential the first time through. Has anyone who likes Manga only seen The Vampire Hunter once?
      Exactly.

    as a western person who grew up in a western family my parents were pretty hard on us. if we ever lied, no matter how small we would get grounded or smacked and if we were rude to my mother at all dad would get very angry and ground us. ive gotten sent to my room for 4 hours once cause i talked back to my dad and also been grounded a month because i didnt do the extra math work my dad set me (and for my family grounding is no electronic entertainment, no going out unless for school of other necessities as well as no sweets, at 12 years of age that drove me nuts)

      That's weird, because I never got candy except for Halloween and Christmas (and some birthdays) simply because it was unhealthy, and I also never got grounded, because first offense earns you a spanking since you know the rules (and I thought my mom was "not really that strict"). It's interesting how different 2 "westerners" opinions are of parents being "hard on" their kids. XD

    I really appreciate you guys talking about cultural stereotypes. As a white guy with Asian extended family members (Shanghainese) one of whom lives in Hong Kong, another in Australia and another in California; its enlightening. They've only been in my life for 6 years, but I try a little every day to understand a bit more of their culture. Reading English translations of news, to watching all of your different TH-cam channels about food, I get a bit more confident in my ability to break down cultural and racial barriers.
    I took a bunch of friends out to Dim Sum a couple of weeks ago, and ordered in the best Chinese I could muster, and everyone had a wonderful time. The staff educated us on the different dishes and made recommendations in the best English they could. I think everyone involved had a great experience. My soon to be step mother is from Shanghai, and I've told here I can't wait to take her there.

    the "abandoning your grandparents" stereotype is SO horrendously wrong for France. A typical family takes care of their kid all through their s hooping then for a while after. Once they need or want to, the kid moves. When the parents stop working they, nearly all, move to the countryside and are visited by their kids and grandkids every few weeks.

    you guys are great. you do this in a very understanding and non bias way. I'm a white canadian in my mod 30s, and in my experience all of the Chinese stereotypes towards white folks is pretty spot on. Lol. I have an Chinese aunt and cousins who, along with my uncle, live with her parents in a bautiful home in Vancouver BC. The homes are ridiculously expensive there, so makes sense to me. I find it interesting how the rest of the family says how "great it is that the family is all together, and blah blah blah. Then, as soon as they do anything, ei; vacation, new car, everyone is like; "Well I could afford that too if I didn't pay a mortgage". In a very judging way. I'm always like..."ya, you are right! " They're smart!! I've always admired Chinese family values. I guess I more so dislike spoiled north American, white family values really.
    Anyway, you guys do are great at talking about all this without causing any sort of judgemental feelings.
    Maybe it's just my experience, ( I am Canadian after all) But it seems like there is never that much racial tension between Asians and white people. Compared to alot of other ethnicities I mean. Again, maybe just me, but I always just assume Chinese people are smart and hardworking. Not the worst stereo type. lol.
    The only thing I can say, is that I do see the pressure my Chinese cousins put on themselves to succeed, it looks exhausting. Lol. Some of this does come from being of mixed heritage though I assume. I think it's hard for them because they're constantly trying to live up to expectations from both sides of their family while at the same time trying to not fit each sides stereo types of the other. It's gotta be hard some times.
    Like these videos guys, cheers

    i think lots of those stereotypes are true but also very directed towards white us americans..
    well white people can be lazy, thats true but i think its not more or less than asians. like when i was in high school i already had to work cause my parents were and are poor however lots of other classmates worked too although their parents had plenty of money.
    I also think that westerners often should raise their kids better, mostly our culture makes it so that kids want to be independent early in life and parents don't want to influence their kids too much. when i was 17ish i definitely wanted to finally move out from home, i couldn't but i wanted to. white people aren't wasteful, americans are.

    • @nocensorship8092
      @nocensorship8092 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      T.W. Someone I mean it is pretty true generally, it's so annoying when people throw something away for no reason... Clothes and toys you should donate (if clean and unwanted of course) food could possibly be shared with another family member and if there are leftover supplies from a project it should be recycled or reused or saved for another project, you'd think that it's obvious and that some more people would do these things but I guess not.. :/

    About white people not caring for their elderly parents, I think that's more of a modern American thing. My family is Italian/Spanish and my dad's mom used to live with us when she was still alive, and my mom's dad lives with us now. However, I've already told my parents that I'm not taking care of them when they're old. I won't have time to if I'm working a full-time job, nor do I plan to give them any money, because they spend too much and I don't want to enable their poor financial habits. It may sound harsh, but I can't stand enablers and I do not want to be one.

    • @BingleFlimp
      @BingleFlimp 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +lelechim I'm English. My mother told me she would rather die than go in a care home and I bet my quiet father feels the same. That's all I needed to hear, they can live with me and my family for the rest of their days. My parents gave up so much to raise me. I'm from a working class family, me and my older sister are the first of our entire family to go to university. If I get a decent income then I'd have no excuse not to help them. I've been a huge drain on their finances for 20 years and I'd gladly switch the roles rather than my Mum and Dad be left alone in a home.

      +Lazy Spark I feel the same way. I'm from an Italian/Puerto Rican household and my mom made me promise her that I would take care of her when she gets older. My aunt put my grandma in a nursing home and we watched her deteriorate from her Alzheimers disease. We eventually took her out and began caring for her at home. Seeing what happened to my grandma makes me never want to put a loved one in a convalescent home. I would rather take care of them. They took care of me for so long, so why shouldn't I repay them with the same love and kindness?

    • @MsDanceDiva234

      I do too. Although my family is still very connected to our Italian roots. The thought of just leaving my parents to pass in a home, especially if they can live with me, goes against my whole beliefs and values.

    Chinese friend of mine here in Japan told me that he always wastes food at restaurants because leaving food behind shows that they fed you. He also says he normally orders too much on purpose so that this happens..
    Also here in Japan i see kids disobeying their parents all of the time. I live next to a school so i see this pretty much every day, the parents never discipline them in public, if at all..

    • @wowazowgirl
      @wowazowgirl 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I heard the same thing about Japan. I heard that if you finish your plate, they will keep feeding you because if you finish it all that means to them that you must still be hungry. having food left shows that you finally got full enough to stop.

  • @siwkjellstadli661
    @siwkjellstadli661 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you so much for talking about this, because it raises awareness for different cultures. I also like that you are turning the table so it's not just Asian stereotypes. Here's my two cents to your stereotypes.
    As for the all white people are rich; we aren't. I myself only earn approximately 1800$ a month but that's in Norwegian money, I live with my parents because I can't afford my own place at the moment and I pay rent to them. Norway is a very expensive country to live in and visit.
    'Yellow-fever' isn't something I have any experience with in my family. But they did a documentary in a Norwegain newspaper, where Norwegian men said that they desired Asian women because they took pleasure in cooking, cleaning and raising children. For me it sounded like they wanted a slave, basically not good.
    I don't know anything about your third topic, sorry!
    Discipline is a very sore topic for many. In Norway it is illegal to hit you children in anyway. Basically if you hit your children in Norway, you lose your kid to childcare. The rules are simple and I personally like that. Most parents will resort to time-out for minor things and grounded for bigger things the children do wrong.
    Wasting food, I hate to do that. If I don't finish a meal I will put it in the fridge and save it for later. I won't say I never waste food, because I will pour out milk the day it expire. But most thing I do the 'see and sniff-test' and if it passes I will use it. My best example: I bought a pack of regular Cola Coke today at work (I usually only drink Light/Zero) and it was so sweet I hardly could stand it, but I had bought it so I drank all four 0.33l cans!
    Work morals is pretty high in Norway, not as high in China or Asia generally, but still pretty high, in my opinion. The thing is that we have benefits if we get sick or have to take a leave because of family emergency. In Norway we also have maternity and paternity leave with payment. For people like me, who can't work full time, we also have a safety net so that we still have enough income to survive. As for the school angle on this Norwegian have home economics, woodwork and a few other creative subjects at school (elementary and junior high) because both sides of the brain needs to be stimulated to learn properly. I can also say that I myself was never pleased unless I got a 5 in junior high (6 was the best grade), we put a lot of pressure on ourself. I would also like to say that in High School I often went to school from 8am-8/9pm, but I was a drama student and we always had some time for dinner. This was mostly during our production period in the autumn. The one thing I can say is that we do have vacations and it won't affect our place in the work place.
    We are not all Americans! I do however understand why they think so because so much of the news and entertainment and movies are American. Well, I'm not American, I'm Norwegian.
    For the last one, which is a bit of a sore spot for me. My mother visited her mother-in-law several times a week. If my grandma wanted something she called me any time of the day. I even told my teachers 'my paternal grandma is old and easily confused, if she calls I'll exit the classroom and answer the phone, but I will keep the sound on.'. None of the teachers argued with me. She died my last semester in high school and the teachers didn't even put me down for being absent for the day she die, the day after or her funeral. I would visit my maternal grandparents more often if they lived closer. My paternal grandparents lived in the same neighbourhood.
    Sorry, Double Chen, this is a long comment on an old video but maybe you would like the in put of someone from Norway!

    Glad you talked about this stuff. I especially like that you brought up the idea of the American workers being lazy. A lot of the misperception comes with labor laws that we have in the US. After 40 hours per week, our bosses are forced to pay us 1.5x our normal pay. My job is difficult to complete in 40 hours. Tomorrow, on my day off, I am designing flyers for an event (related, but little to do with my job) because I know it will make my job more successful. I check on what's going on on my day off, though I am not getting paid for it. I would happily work 50-70 hours a week, if it meant I got even standard, or "volunteer" hours for slightly lesser pay for those extra hours, but it isn't to be.

    i think the way the Chinese family structure is makes more sense. the way western family structure is, it's not as functioning as we wish it was. having that 'it takes a village' mentality towards raising kids makes way more sense. i know for a lot of older people right now, they can't even retire so they're getting retail jobs and the like just to keep paying the bills. in the last few years i've seen more and more of the cashiers be older women than i've ever seen before. having your parents be such a prominent part of your life has so many benefits. i moved back home and ended up at a house 4 houses down from my parents once i had my kids and the blessing it's been is immeasurable. yeah it can be annoying and i see them pretty much every day but i feel like taking care of your parents once they get older is something that should and hopefully will be more practiced in the future. i know families would benefit from it for sure. especially those where both parents work.

    I actually hate that living with the parents is frowned upon in the United States. First it is financially better to do it this way and it creates a nice family network where you help each other. Also, this idea that we have to live on our own started happening more frequently after WWII. The American family has lost sight of the value of family and it is very sad to see it deteriorate.

    Hey... thanks guys for the excellent video. I always learn a lot from you... You definitely hit the nail on the head about perceptions when you mentioned Hollywood and the American media. If the rest of the World judges the average American by what they see on movies and TV, they will be sadly misled. Over half of Americans attend church somewhat regularly, but no one on TV does. I can identify with many of the Asian positions... my dad expected all "A"s, respect of our elders, discipline and hard work... just like many Asians. ...but there are many people who don't. And if you want Westerners to think less of Asian women, you're going to have to do something about the KPOP girl entertainers... they are HOT!! Ha Ha!!

    My family is from Poland, I'm a first gen american from immigrant parents, and I can definitely tell you that I heard horror stories all my life about being wasteful, and the fact of how I was so blessed to be born in America was ingrained in me since I could remember. In Poland after the war, there was no food, during Soviet occupation, there was no food, after the wall fell, there was no food. My Dad was a kid during the war, and he's been obsessed with it his whole life. It only seems like in the past 10-15 years that my family still in Poland is doing alright. That culture of hoarding what you can get to use on a rainy day definitely rubbed off on me, because I save stale bread and the like to give as treats to my two dogs. I will not toss anything unless I can't think of a use for it.

    I know the taking care of the older generation thing, but hearing it in the context of what you were saying about the work ethic, I was wondering - if someone is working 7 days a week and long hours, how can they look after older and potentially sick parents? Does one person from a couple stop work to care for them? Are there single people, and what do they do? I'd just never put those two things together to wonder about that before.

I helped take care of ALL my grandparents until they passed and I'll do the same for my parents just as I'm doing for my in laws. Our elders gave us so much of themselves and it would be selfish to not give back to them when they need it.

    I think the "not taking care of their elders" is more of a U.S. stereotype. Latins tend to hang around their old folks a lot more (stereotipically speaking of course).
    Where I'm from you go to university while living at your parents house, unless you decide to study in another city, and are not expected to find your own place untill 25. It is not uncommon to have one of your grandparents living with you when his/her partner passes away and placing them into a home is frowned upon. That's only acceptable when he/she is suffering from a health condition that requires professional care and the family cannot afford a private nurse.

    All cultures have some stereotyping. If you do not know much about the other side of the fence so to speak. You tend to develop lots of misconceptions and once you actually talk with and interact with more of the cultures and are allowed to have an open and honest discussion with them. you understand just how much those "differences" are just minor and really we have lots of similarity. We all want our kids to do well. We all love our parents despite being apart from them. We all want to be less wasteful. We all want to see our kids turn into successful and well balanced people. We all laugh at the same things. We all cry over the same things. We all want to get along but sometimes its hard when our misconceptions get in the way of it. If we understood just how much we are the same despite our cultures. This world would be much happier i think.

    I feel like television isn't a good representation of how most white Americans live. Full House certainly did not represent my upbringing, even though I also lived with many siblings and very close to many relatives. We were "disciplined" as children very violently. I think that's another issue people have with newer generations. We (I'm 29, so I don't know how it is for everyone my age) were beaten. My kids do not get hit, at all. I do find myself thinking "Man, I would have been slapped so hard if I said to my mom what you just said!" when my child simply asks why I want them to do something. People my age seem to have a "thing" against younger generations not being beaten and I feel like it's not so much to do with that child, but with feelings somewhat like jealousy that that child didn't get hit for just asking a question or for not tying shoes properly or whatever.

      Jordan Wagner, I hear that a lot tbh, I personally disagree with physical discipline of children.. it is, whichever way you look at it, abuse.
      Imo it's just a bad excuse for not bothering to try to learn how to parent.
      The issue is parents letting their kids do whatever the hell they want and never telling them no, and not telling them off when they do something wrong, and not teaching them to be respectful and civilized around other people, and not spending enough time with them, handing them ipads and smartphones as soon as they can hold one. Also trusting too much in schools to teach them properly.. It's like most parents have some crazy monster that they think they can just let loose on society and everything will take care of itself.
      NO. YOUR kid is YOUR responsibility, their actions are ON YOU as their parents. At least until they turn 18, at that point sure, throw them out in to the world with packed bags for all I care. But until then it's YOUR job to make sure they're ready for it.
      Sorry for the rant, didn't really mean to direct any of this at you, don't even know if you're a parent or not D:

Of course, just whipping a kid for no apparent reason, taking anger out on them, and not talking to them about rules and spending time teaching them is terrible and even abusive, but relying on all those silly mind games like grounding and taking things away from bratty kids who never learned respect because their parents didn't believe in a firm warning and a followup slap on the butt when they were young... that also doesn't seem right, to me.

    This is interesting because some of the stereotypes seem to go both ways.
    In New Zealand people tend to think all Chinese are rich. When Chinese people come to NZ they drive crazy expensive cars (while most NZ drive second or third hand cars) and are the only ones shopping in those super expensive fashion stores (like a true New Zealander, I couldn't name the brands for you). They also spend a crazy amount of money on weddings.
    There is also a feeling that lots of Chinese are buying land and houses. They have deep pockets and are forcing local people on local wages out of the housing market.
    Some people have also said Chinese are lazy. This comes from a lot of landlords being Chinese. It is thought that Chinese landlord try and squeezes as much rent money out of you, while putting in the lest amount of effort. People often say you can tell when a house is rented by a Chinese because it will be poorly maintained (mould, long grass).
    Obviously there are other stereotypes but they are not relevant to this video. I just thought it was interesting that two of them mentioned seem to go both ways. It is interesting how different stereotypes develop based on what people see.

    • @fsh9390
      @fsh9390 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nadine A. I don't think that many of them have deeper pockets than the general population. It's the way they spend their money. Perhaps they are economic migrants and the minute the could afford a luxury car, they would own one ahead of other less visible spoils in life. A symbol of economic success. Chinese weddings are almost always an elaborate and expensive affair because of closed family ties - all close friends and relatives of both sides are invited since it's disrespectful and humiliating (lose face) to leave anyone out. Also, the couple WILL make a "profit" from the wedding as all Chinese invitees will cover their respective cost of the banquet through the offering of money in a red envelope (Ang Pow).

    When I was working in Shanghai my company hired a bunch of white people to just come sit at a conference we organized and do nothing lol. My Armenian friend got so many commercial acting gigs as the manager because he looks white. It was pretty funny. Since I'm South East Asian nobody paid attention :)

    I used to find western actresses the most attractive because I'm really into movies and tv shows etc. I didn't really know too many asian celebrities but now that I listen to some kpop and I'm learning about korean culture I definitely find some of the girls extremely attractive. I still think white girls are pretty too though so it's not like I'm completely obsessed, just at the moment I like a lot of the kpop girls a lot.

    Cause the Western education motto (perspective) is more "learn HOW to learn, then go out into the world, and learn WHAT you NEED and WANT to learn."

    I'm a white woman and I lived in China for a year and I could DEFINITELY feel the "All white people are rich" stereotype. One person even went so far as to claim that Europeans (who are not all white) don't need to work. This was, of course, just one person but it really offended me.
    About the work ethic, I would also say the job culture is way different. In China, you'd frequently see people taking naps and hanging about, not doing anything, at their jobs. If you dared be as "hooky" in the western world, you'd be sacked.
    And all people are americans! Holy shit, yes, they are convinced of that. But the western world also sees most east asians=Chinese.
    I love this video, btw. You guys are being fair but critical.

    1:00 "All white people are rich."
    From someone living in China's perspective, that is very true. Americans in general are rich compared to Chinese people.
    Although, in America, it totally wrong coming from an American Asian's perspective in general. Asian Americans in thus US make an average household income of $108,088 while European Americans (white people) make $54,857. Asians in the US are not only much wealthier than their European American counterparts, but they are the wealthiest group in the United States.

      Randall M I can't remember which specific thing this was, but you can search for per capita income by race in the US or average household income or a variety of other things. Every one I've seen put Asian Americans in first place.

    • @xWHITExEAGLEx
      @xWHITExEAGLEx 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Matticus Barticus I think the 54 thousand must be the average per capita income for a European American - not the household income. I could be wrong though.

    • @salmiak333
      @salmiak333 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm starting to really hate using just the average income per capita for wealth estimates of people in different countries. Since the cost of living is also very different in different countries, I think that the cost for base necessities should be detracted from the income per capita first. That would be a more accurate estimate imo.
      But I do also realize that it would be really hard to do a fair and correct calculation of living costs, since they also differ a lot even within a country. But if it could be done in a good way, I'd love to see it done. And the result.

    I like the comment on the treatment of the elderly. it's true most of us don't take care of our grandparents the same way as most Asian cultures do. this doesn't mean we don't take care of them in our own way. the big deal for most people is how stubborn we are when we have to face the reality of age and independence. my grandparents and great grandparents were that way. so the family made sure that they can be as independent as possible. right now we are dealing with one who is refusing to reconnize that in order for them to live in their home they need to get it up to code and be willing to pay someone to come in once a week to do basic chores. the big one is the getting the house updated. it is frustrating.

    I am what most would call a white American. I was raised to respect my elders and take care of my family. If I was disrespectful or did something wrong I was get smacked or spanked or sent to a corner. I worked as a volunteer firefighter and worked part time Jobs while in school. I worked other volunteer jobs as well so I could help people. When I turned 18 I got a full-time job, paid rent, went to college. I paid my way to achieve my dream of joining the medical field so I could help people. It was hard but I enjoyed the challenge. I have noticed as well there there is a great divide between how kids were raised before the millenials vs after. Some born after give truth to some of the steriotypes where other do not. It is also quite fascinating to learn about other cultures and see how they see each other. :-)

    I grew up with my grandparents, who grew up during the Great Depression. My school in San Francisco was 95% Chinese, so I feel a bit of a kinship. But anyway, my grandparents paid for my college, even driving me there so I wouldn't be late to class. And they never pushed me or my brother out of the nest. I only moved out when I got married at the age of 29. My brother still lives with them, rent free. It's neat to see what is similar across cultures/ethnicities.

    I am a white american and most of these are the opposite of my family. We grew up and still are poor so there is no wastefulness allowed. We don't have money to waste and if you cook too much food it takes away from other meals. The men in my family usually work 10-12 hours a day 5-7 days a week, though 6 days a week on average. They also work jobs where it takes brain(mainly math) and physical ability. We live in the country so yes we had a big yard and woods too. The kids go to school 8 hours a day 5 days a week so nothing compared to China. Around 7:15 am-3:15 pm, so leave for school at 6:45 am and arrive home at 3:30 pm. Mostly our discipline was whooping with a belt or a switching with a limb on bare legs. Also so far in my family only one person has married a non-white person. I believe she was half Asian, though not Chinese, but I am not positive because it was when I was a teen and didn't last long, I am 35 now.So I can honestly say we are not wasteful, lazy,rich,yellow fevered or undisciplined. We also take care of our parents when they get older and need us. Right now my Mother who will be 64 in 6 days had a stroke last year and has stage 4 kidney disease, I help my Dad everyday with caring for her. I prepare food for her three times a day and give her all of her medications daily and also take her to the restroom. My Dad also takes her to the restroom, helps her with her shower and helps her to bed. When he is at work I do the things he does also. My kids ages 12-15 do the laundry, wash the dishes, feed the dogs, birds, and fish and clean the house. My Dad helps with those too. Also my 18 year old son works 40+ hours a week and goes to school 3 days a week. So it is safe to say all families are not the same.Though I can only speak for my family.

    I think the actual reason why most couple are white guy-asian girl and not white girl-asian guy is that a white girl might expect a guy to openly flirt with her, and could see a more subtle appraoch as just friendship. I am a white girl and I find it easier to talk with a white guy because I am not worried that he might be nice with me just because he's being polite, I feel like I can tell if he is interested more easily than an asian guy. Sometimesyou're just harde to read. I don't want to feel like I'm pushing it, if it makes sense. But I don't have a physical preference between white or asian guys. A guy like Mike is particularly attractive to me, but I would never take the first step.
