Why agile content % is increasing from 2nd Jan 2021 in pmp exam, as there is already a separate exam for agile certification. Agile is only used in software and construction / physical implementation has wider scope and existing syllabus is more apt.

The increase in agile content reflects the trend where the job of the project manager has evolved such that more and more projects today are managed using the agile methodology rather than the traditional waterfall approach.

It seems that a lot of material that is used on PMI-ACP can be used here as a reference on Agile questions on the exam. Is this correct statement Cornelius? Many thanks!

Generally yes. If you are PMI-ACP certified, then everything agile that you have studied in preparation for that exam will be valid and applicable to the new PMP exam.

PMBOK6 is going to continue to be used as one of the main references for the PMP exam despite the advent of PMBOK7.

Is it safe to say Ritas book and Head First are still relevant material for the 2021 exam?

There are many excellent exam prep books out there. You need to verify that the version you are using has been updated based on the latest exam content outline.

This seems insane. Why change what’s not broken?

To keep with the times. Because many companies have adopted agile methodologies rather than waterfall.
I know, it sucks. I haven't taken the PMP cert yet.
