Just a little word of advice. If you fill your bobbin very full, you might get trouble with the tension as the bobbin thread can not lay across the bobbin as shown in the video. I had that problem and the upper thread pulled the bobbin thread to the top which made the stitches look wrong.
I bought one of these to sew leather and vinyl. Does that job brilliantly. Could the cameraman zoom in on the results in future. It's difficult for people to see the results from the stand-off position she/he filming from. Thanks!
Hi, love all your videos the're so in formative, they have really helped me get started on my new machine. I have the same innov-is F420 as in your vid. But I have a problem I'm hoping you can help with. My back tacks from the bobbin thread all seem to look so tangled, the underneath just looks like a mess of bunched up tangled thread, that's sewn down. Is there something I'm doing or can do to sort it out so it looks neat, and not tangled. Thank you. Elaine. x
I am having difficulty replacing the needle. I finally managed to get the needle out and put thicker one in and managed to get that one out really quickly but cannot get the original back in. I have only had the machine about a month so still getting the hang of things. But I am stuck until I can get the needle back in.
Thank you for a really useful demonstration. I would like to have seen the "knee lifter" in action as I have never used one before but I'm sure I will figure it out. :)
I love the speed control also the cutter for trimming your thread & the impressive needle threader.😁 but I don’t think I will be doing much quilting. Someone told me I must be a hobbyist (a bit of everything 🤔) so what should I be looking for. Can you help 🤞🏻
I just ordered this machine, and I am so looking forward to it. It will arrive on Wednesday :) I have a Bernette B38 at the moment, but, I never really got in with that machine, I do not know why as it is also a very lovely machine, has more stitch pattern than this brother, but I never used them much.
I guess it’s not only about how good the machine is but how much it goes with your personality and taste :) details like the sounds it makes when it sews, the way it looks, the way the stitch looks, the feel it gives, etc..I’ve noticed each machine has its “personality”; I know it may sound funny but at least in my case it’s true. I have a Bernette b37 and although it’s a very good machine I want to have a Brother again. It was the best machine for me. I am thinking of purchasing this model! How did you like it? Your opinion would help :)
@@luciatat4084 I LOVE the Brother Inov-is F420. Such a difference to the Bernette B38. When I got the Bernette B38 I noticed how small that machine is. Not a bad machine at all, but just not for me, I can not even tell you why I did not like it. The Brother has a larger LCD screen and I find it overall better to use. The decorative stitches, in my opinion, as well as the buttonholes, look much neater on the Brother Machine. I never manage to sew on a button with the Bernette, but I can with ease, with the Brother. Also, the knee lifter is a game changer, i my opinion. I just love the Brother and can highly recommend it.
Hello Petra, could you tell me why my machine is tangling up the bobbin thread as I start to sew, it's only on the back tacks at start and end after those it sews fine, tension is good but I just can't stop it from tangling on the underside of the material. 🤞 Thank you. Elaine. x
I know this series of machines comes with a "square feed drive system" but I don't actually know what that means. Are the stitches on this machine neater / more professional looking than on say the A-series, e.g. A150 or A16, which don't seem to have the SFDS?
I just got this machine today and had the A80 for a while. This is far superior..I must admit I havnt gone into the difference between the box feed system and the square feed drive system, but they are more powerful in feeding fabric through. My Juki is a box feed I think and it's too powerful to take the daisy flower stitch foot, but the Brother fs420 does. The stitches do come out beautifully and it's a lot quieter all round than it sounds on the video!
I got the F420 on Saturday and I love it!! I was fretting over which model to get and I’m so happy that I went for this one! such professional quality but really beginner friendly 😺 (Pity I don’t stay in europe - would have been nice to buy the machine from Frank Nutt shop seeing as their vids really convinced me it’s the way to go)
What is the weight of the Innovation-is F420 please? I am very drawn to this machine but weight is a critical factor for me - as I am getting older heavy lifting is becoming a bit of an issue! If I do go ahead to you have an ex-demo machine? That is also of interest to me; thank you. Jane Murphy
£599 at the moment in UK and as its popular and we're in a sewing epidemic, they have to be pre ordered. If you look around you'll probably find one as they've just come back into stock in a lot of places. An ex demo one would be worth looking out for.
Hi, I am interested in a Brother NV1100 machine but am yet to see a decent video demonstration in English. If you could do that I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Hi Linda, We can try and get round to this for you, the 1100 works very similar to this machine it is just slightly bigger, the screen works in exactly the same way and features like the thread cutter are also identical. Hope this helps. James
Hello I have this machine and have been using for the last couple of month. However Ive been having a bit of trouble lately where there is a bit of nesting at the start of a straight stitch from the underside of the fabric. I tried to change the tension, clean the bobbin but the issue still persists. Anyone has any recommendations please ?
I'm having this issue where I can't even sew a straight line without the 'safety device has been activated' error message being displayed. I have tried as many things as I can but can't get it to work! Any advice? X
Too much time spent on intro and bobbin 5min. Close ups of what you were demonstrating would be helpful too. Really wanted to see knee lift in action, reviews mentioned height limatation.

Clearest demonstration of the automatic threader that I’ve seen (or read)!
I bought one of these to sew leather and vinyl. Does that job brilliantly.

Thanks!
Of course, even better than an industrial Juki.

I would like to know the differences between brother F420 and Juki DX5, which would you recommend?
Great Demonstration. Can I ask what's the name of the corner desk/worktop you are using please?? Thank you

is this machine made of metal or plastic? and is it able to sew through jeans inseams (even folded or doubled hemming seams)?
thanks for review! is it suffitient for sewing of leather?
Good morning from Malta. The sewing machine F400 and F420 really interest me. Question: do you ship to Malta? Thank you, Jorg
Thank you for a really useful demonstration. I would like to have seen the "knee lifter" in action as I have never used one before but I'm sure I will figure it out. :)
Really good demonstration
I'm looking at the Brother FS100WT what would you say was the next model up from the one I have mentioned.
Thank you

Brother Innovis F420 vs a150 Sewing Machine which one is better?
Are you able to load your own digitizations into the machinge?

The Brother F420 is 9kg in weight. Please check our website in the Ex-Demo section for our latest products!
Thankyou this was so helpful. Just one question? Can I increase the font for scripting?
Hi Maria Stone, the font can be made smaller but not bigger i'm afraid :). Hope this helps, James.
What is the price range and where can I purchase it

Frank Nutt Sewing Machines Awesome!
how does the machine cope with free motion sewing?

I tried to change the tension, clean the bobbin but the issue still persists. Anyone has any recommendations please ?
Does this sew through heavy fabrics like leather? Does it accept thick thread?
Hi Sean Read, yes it does :)
do you get the knee lift with the machine?
You do
they sell them on amazon uk but they come from usa but how are they powered up as there voltage is differnt to uk thanks
Hello, I’m buying one of these from my local sewing machine shop in Swansea, so they’re definitely made for the UK market.
Do you know what the equivalent of this machine is in the US? Thank you.
Can you buy a larger foot pedal for this machine ?
I have a question: the machine is very noisy when sewing. Brother machines are Japanese, I want to buy it, but I need a quiet machine.
Love your channel, get great information, Thank You

What is the stitch speed per minute please? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
I googled. says 850 per minute
@@nitsan Thank you, sorry for the late reply.
Can anyone tell me how to adjust the tension on this machine. Can't find it on LCD screen!
Can this take double needles and how much does it retail for
If you mean twin needles, yes it does.
WHAT FEET CAN BE USED DOES IT HAVE A 1/4 INCH FOOT I QUILT A LOT BUT SEW ALSO
I cannot decide between this machine or the Juki HZL DX7 machine.😓
What did you go for in the end? I'm curious, as I have the Juki Dx3.
@@vivlee3840 I got Juki DX2000 QVP which is the same machine as DX7.
I have just the machine . I don't know how to move the needle position to the centre. Can you help p!ease thanks
Yes, press number 2 to move needle to centre.
Thank you for this great video
❤️
Thank you was so helpful

I have a innov-is NQ550PRW CAN YOU SHOW ME HOW TO SET THE ZIGZAG?
I would like to see how to use more of more attachments - perhaps even a separate video for the Brother Creative Quilting Kit?
Hi Patriciab16, we will try and get round to this for you :)
Thank you :)

Hello, do you have a number I can call your store on?☺️
Informative demo sounded rather noisy .
It's not nearly as noisy as it sounded, I can vouch for that. I think the microphone was too near the machine.
Qué malo organización Cómo no vas a tener un pedazo de tela antes de hacer un video la cámara enfoca muy mal tu mano tapa todo la información
God .. 5 minutes and you are still at the bobbin ... phoa...
