I feel like if I explained why I had everything laid out in my apartment the way I do, it would be much the same including pointing out the dirty dishes. Lol And I probably explain why I have dirty dishes.
It's true that lately he expanded the social media presence and opted for funnier videos that appeal to a larger audience, I feel like he's treating it more as a business and with the audience expanding he may feel awkward revealing very personal stuff about himself as he used to, to many many people. I don't dislike what he's up to now but I agree the older, simpler videos were great.
I'm sure as an INFJ major plans still go into his sincere videos too. Check out this INFJ Tom for more videos like Frank James. th-cam.com/channels/Q6vpcF4c9wW3IT5m27w67A.html
Right. What are we supposed to do, just go for it and hope that it all works out? Because in that case it definitely won't, and it's going to be aggravating.
Let's put it this way, as an ENTP, I would never assign the flowers or pick colors for each type. Possibly a script, but it'd be very loose. Also, no way would I ever have a marker for where to look. Also more realistically, I would never make a video where I had to actually buy fresh flowers for each type 😂😂
@@petrichor2986 Well, all Te savior TH-camrs are watching each other. The bigger the subscriber count, the more Te. They learn what works with the algorithm and learn to adapt to it. OPS and FJ are Te users and OPS is getting subs for supporting FJ. If they slammed FJ and exposed his fraud, they'd most likely lose some subs. Obviously no Ti interest in truth on this channel.
@Tommy Hass Prove me wrong. 🤷 Talking With Famous People and CSJoseph are both Ti users who regularly alienate their audience with their attempts at truth bombs and they cause problems in the community. OPS and FJ are beloved and accepted Te users who go with the flow and agree with the tribe's reasons and never pick any fights with their audience. TWFP and CSJ both trash people for being incorrect in their comments but OPS and FJ are just "meh" doesn't matter and I'm making money, no biggie.
@Tommy Hass Hah, yeah quick poll of your comments.. bro, no information, no substance. You actually have nothing to say other than these short trolling quips. Unfortunate. Isn't there a quote that goes something like, "If you don't have anything useful to say, don't say anything at all?"
I love Frank James, and admire his growth as a person throughout his youtube journey. Through him I discovered OPS. Both channels utterly kicked me in the shins as I realized I was probably an infj, and that I had been causing all my own problems for decades:/.
S R I find this overwhelming, and the yucking it up feels forced. Please stop. Back up, talk more quietly, and just mellow out a bit. Frank seems to be on speed, unless the audio is somehow moving at a faster speed.
Planning for all potential future breakdowns. Sums me up in a sentence haha. Reminds me of the time my INFJ friend and myself imagined that the taxi wouldn’t pick us up on time to get to the train station and consequently to the airport and then found a solution of cycling with the huge suitcases on the bike handles to the train station. We got all excited for that and then our ISFJ and ISTJ friends were like: “but that is never going to happen!” Us: “But what if? It’s good to have a plan.” *Eyeroll from our friends.*
As an ISFJ I can see why you're making these plans. It's just about how probable or important these things are. I like plans a lot, but sometimes you just have to embrace chaos and not care. You could also just call the taxi to pick you up 30 minutes earlier. It's the easiest solution and doesn't require much else. If it doesn't come to pick you up, you'll probably have enough time to go by bus or something else depending on your city.
The problem is frank james is not an infj. You can see it in every statement that hes informing the audience about his personal memories and not talking about collective sensories like se user do. Pls check your terms, a person may not be the type that he or she might pretending or wanting to be. Obviously he is an Infp. Watch cs joseph for further information and dont rage out on me. Peace out
@@petergabbelPLay I watched a vid of his completely through today just to check what people were saying, and yes. He is definitely a decider. He's INFP, but can fool people who aren't educated or aren't using INFJ functions into thinking that he's an INFJ. I want Dave & Shan to go through his videos and interviews and retype him. It's very clear that he's not an INFJ to other INFJs, but other people can be thrown off by his acting skills.
I'm ENFP but really love listening to Frank James' critiques on INFJs; I somehow relate to some of the things, which explains the ying/yang of Enfp/INFJ. He and you guys are my faves.
i watched the entire video thinking "what are they talking about? this is just normal planning, there's no overdoing it. everyone must be like that, right?"
There is a problem with this video. Shan and Dave are just assuming all of the motivations Frank has for doing the things he does, while he gives them no reason to assume these things. For example, just because Frank makes a joke that he wants to make sure they wear different colors outfits, they just assume that his motivation for doing so is the tribe and that he "has to play that dumb Se game". This is really just looking at a person and assuming what they think. They forget that maybe HE just wants his characters to look different because that is important to HIM in HIS artistic project that He values and HE takes seriously. It's like assuming that because an musician says he wants to make sure he uses different chord progeressoins each time, he just does this to please the crowd because he's responsible for their amusement. There's at least a similar likelyhood that the artist does not want to use the same chord progressions the whole time himself. Also just because dave always wants to wear the same black shirt, a similar must be the case too for FJ. However, if you look at all FJ videos over time one will see that he constantly has had lots of different looks andhairstyles, which somtimes looked more unique rather than just a save option to please the tribe. If anything that is more similar to the INFP guy from Geek psychology who has different hairstyles and facial hair all the time too. Also, perceivers or high Ne users may appear to be very chaotic, but oftentimes when they do artistic things (which they more often seem to do than Ni users), they take it super seriously since they're often passion driven rather than long term goal orientated. Is Bob Ross (painter) a controlfreak because he wants his trees to look good? Also, just because he is structured in his preparation when he's doing something artistic, it is a stretch to assume he's "overdoing it", since it just assumes he does in fact not need this much preparation. The thing is that if he's a chaotic person himself, then he obviously needs more order to make up for that to get anything done. I think a lot of chaotic people will agree with me that if you're chaotic and you need to do something physcially, then you gotta prepare it too. I myself for example are extremely chaotic and need kindergarten level of preparation in the physical realm. I need to find clothes to wear the next day not becasue I'm a controlfreak, but rather because my clothes are all over the place and I'm constantly distracted with ideas in my head when I try to search for them. Anyway, back to the video. So if you have good Se then you can more easily improvise in the physical world, but if your Se sucks then you can't and have to rely on Si preparation since it's all you got. Also, just look around in the room at 2:13 . The rest of the room is just mess, the doors are slightly open, the drawer is slighly open. Does that look like a controlfreak? One could argue that some things are out of place to make room for the video setup, but there is really no need for that drawer and door to be partly open. Anyway, if it was not clear yet I do not think there are any reasons to assume FJ is in fact an INFJ. I have nothing against the guy, but he just showcases a completely diffrent function stack in his videos - Rather than politely talking to the viewers which a high Fe user would do, Frank James just speaks his mind in completly unfiltered and funny way this entire video and in other videos. - In the videos where he talks about something he is often distracted by other ideas and deviates easily from his main story (Ne, not Ni) - When he describes things from the past, he's very, very particular about what happened in which order and experiences pain as he's experiencing it now (Si) - He does not know how to interact with people, which is at least in typical INFJ's uncommon because their Fe is pretty good. Just look at Joyce Meng's videos or Renaud Continis videos or Eric Thor's videos. That's INFJ Fe! It's polite social interaction where everything is filtered and packaged in a pleasant manner for the other party.. FJ is just himself and witty or even awkward. He says things that are not 'save' to say. That's what makes it funny and light. That's Ne charm. It's hit or miss rather than the save Fe option. - FJ hardly ever showcases usage of Ti. Where does he even really reason? Ti is too absend for third slot position(which an INFJ would have) So yeah, frank james is more likely a type like an INFP or ENFP..but not likely at all as an INFJ
Well said. A big issue with typing others is knowing "why" and not taking things at face value. They did a really horrible job with this video. I've even been subscribed to their class for a few months and this is a huge disappointment.
those are all really interesting points! as an INFJ, though, i must say that i am convinced frank is one, too. have you seen his earliest videos? they may be more revealing than anything he's done in the past year. when i first started watching his channel i was constantly going, "is this guy me?!" i can predict what he's going to say so often. it's weird and wonderful. but on the point of THIS video- i'm not sure there's anything that special about how he's set himself up. just seems like regular planning to me. if you've ever taken any kind of film production class you'd know all about how to set up a shoot, etc., and by those standards he's just using best practices.
@@retrogradepink The problem with the argument about someone's type that one mentions "I recognize myself in person x, so that person must be the same as me" is that there is no way for any other person to verify that one is indeed that type. Basically people just have to take ones word for it, because they do not have access to the information one has. In Frank's case, I would not be surprised if many people recognized themselves in Frank while actually being a different type than him, since since he creates such an intimate and personal atmosphere in his videos that at the same time is universal and is part of the human experience. For example, if on the street everyone looks confident while you feel you're the only insecure person. If you portray this viewpoint well enough, it sounds very personal, while in fact maybe lots of people feel insecure (but look secure from the outside).
I personally think Shan and Dave overemphasize the tribe thing. I've learned so much from Dave though. If you watch the old Frank James vids, you see a young, frustrated INFJ. I think because of youtube - he really uses a LOT of FE now (acts more). He comes off as an ESFJ now. Most INFPs are terrible actors - they're too slow to react properly as an actor. INxJs are the most pessimistic long-term - we know the universe is coming to an end etc. Frank James acts more positive now to balance things out and get more views. A youtube channel that wants to be successful needs the channel actor to be more exciting and positive, unlike the typical INxJ's default state way of behavior... Frank James humor is getting better with time. I just laughed at 3 of his videos. Few youtube videos make me laugh. I'm INFJ. INFJs make for some of the best all-around writers out there.
@@fredocorleone3280 It's pretty clear you have INFJs and ESFJs wrong, the whole personality system here on OPS and in general. Optimism and pessimism has no bearing on type. INFJs are not inherently pessimistic and ESFJs are not inherently optimistic. Fe is also not acting (and he can't even act, he is just Frank James over and over and over, he can't get into character at all, nor can he emote anything other than his bleh Fi state).
Gotta be frank (hah), this video is pretty bad. Anyone, and I really mean anyone, anyone who has a job filming the same thing every day, doing the same thing all of the time, using a formula (just about every job requires a formula), creating a skit (where even the subject matter of the skit is quite literally, by definition, an organized, planned set of distinctions), there will be this level of organization and planning. There will be. Nothing presented in his video is out of the ordinary for anyone with a JOB doing a PROCESS. Frank James could very well be an INFJ, but this isn't the way to show it, because I guarantee you any INFP whose job depends on presentations and public speaking and etc, will do the same thing.
And another note, when then making a video describing in detail how someone's work is done, they will present what they "tediously do every day zZZZzz" as if it was boring. It will look like they're in a savior state. Why? Because it's what they do every day. Of course it isn't special! Of course they aren't freaking out about it. It's what they do every day.
@Tommy Hass You clearly didn't watch the video, nor do you follow OPS. 1) He does not get pleasure or contentment out of planning. Did you even watch the video? Totally neutral and "meh" the whole way through. 2) He is not a planaholic, the dude is prepping a skit following the process he developed slowly over years. He's working a job and knows the process that works. That's what people who have jobs actually do every day. Frank James could never, ever, EVER manage an actual business campaign with a hundred different departments doing different activities, managed by different people, who are using different assets to achieve a singular goal. That is what Ni users are made for. Putting a camera 7ft away because he randomly figured out that that looked good (Fi) one day a year ago and so he's kept on doing it that way (Si)? Yeah, definitely not Ni. 3) Savior state does not mean pleasure. Savior state means neutral. When you are in your savior state, you are chill, relaxed, and everything is coming to you second nature. He's not freaking out about the possibilities and the details. He's not freaking out about anything, because the entire video is about things things things. He freaks out about people! He freaks out about himself! This stuff? This is just stuff. This is just the behind the scenes stuff in his room. He's completely at home, completely alone, totally comfortable, talking about his process (Si). No biggie, he does this every day, they're just things, whatever. Dude is an IxxP.
@Tommy Hass Absolutely not. Watch OPS vids on Saviors/Demons and get back to me. It's being neutral and comfortable. Funny thing is, even if it somehow did equate to pleasure, that would mean FJ is *not in a savior state in this video, because he's obviously not getting pleasure out of his plans. This is obvious. So what does that mean? It means he's *not an IxxJ. So either way, you are simply supporting my declaration that he's not an IxxJ.
I had a smile on my face throughout this video. You two are so delightful to watch, especially when you keep the four-letter words down which you did on this video, so thank you!!! It was so much fun to watch. As a fellow INFJ to Frank, and fan of him, it was very fun to watch you analyze him.
I love how I subscribed to this channel inquisitively a few days ago, and then the first video I come across upon checking again is about Frank James, who I watch all the time 😂 I can see I’ll like this channel
This is extremely similar to me in the job. I have like checklists in my head that I HAVE to satisfy while I’m going through the day. I plan out all of my tasks in detail before I actually have to do it so that it is super easy to stay on track while I’m actually doing the work.
Watch Frank’s earliest videos and then get back to us on how “planned” he is. You could easily make the argument here that Frank has developed his lower functions (Te), and that’s why he’s better at planning now and what we see in this more current video, but he wasn’t always like this, and I do commend Frank on his growth. However, Ni is a perception function and has nothing to do with “planning,” which is the role of an extroverted judging function. You misunderstand the cognitive functions when you continually think that Ni is a planning/control function. INFJs in a Ni-Ti loop who have not developed their Fe can be some of the worst planners because they are constantly stuck in their head. You type Derren Brown as an INFJ, which I completely agree with and you can see his Ni/Ti at play in his acts, but how is he similar to Frank? Frank is just repeating the same formula with his skits. It’s certainly effective, but not anything Ni would produce.
@@tenthousanddaysofgratitude it could simply be caring about his artistic project. Also, Franks videos have no common overarching theme or whatever. it seems his videos are often either very personal, where Frank creates intimacy with his viewers and tells things about his life or they're funny entertainment. It could easily be argued that the way he creates intimacy and is being personal comes from his Fi, whereas his funny videos are just Ne creativity/humor. Also, the way he tells about things that happened in the past is often related to Si. They like to literally tell what happened, without having a super clear point. Types with often Ni compress full stories into the main "lesson" or "point" about that story, which then of course is not story anymore.
P O W E R - R E D - B U L L You can see how some people in the comments here enjoyed Frank when he was more honest and personal in his earlier videos. It’s actually very unlikely for an INFJ to speak about their feelings and personal experiences in this way, let alone on a TH-cam channel for a wide audience to see, like Frank did at first. Look at Michael Pierce whose first TH-cam videos were scripted PowerPoint presentations on Jungian theory. This is how Ni/Ti wants to makes it mark and shows a much higher order level of planning than Frank here in making his 16 personalities skits. Dave and Shannon assume that based off this one video Frank is an example of what Ni looks like and that he plans this way “all day, every day” and is the standard in their system for Ni savior, “Do you have a Frank James level of planning in a savior state or not?” when you have earlier videos like this from him. th-cam.com/video/Q5aKR55a18E/w-d-xo.html
@@wandering248 Yes, exactly. Also, even when Ni doms tend to choose to be more personal, they tend to talk in quite general terms, because Ni is not about particular instances, but about more general abstract concepts (patterns). They even tend to forget or not care about the particular instances, because to them these are just perceived as details that do not matter, if they remember them at all. Also, INFJ's have Fe which does not immediately create very close intimacy, but rather a "pleasant and polite" enviroment, which is different from Fi which tends to create a more "close friends" admosphere by being more blunt and honest about it's feelings and views, even if they're less politically correct and thus a less 'save' option (where Fe goes for more save options). So with frank james we both see it's 1.) very personal ' and 2.) very particular. Frank James' Fi and Si together make it really easy for frank james to make his audience feel intimate to him. It gives them the impression that they know everything about him. He's basically your friend that tells you about his intimate feelings (Fi), personal specific history (Fi+Si) and cheers you up with his humor (Ne). These are all INFP's functions and none of them are INFJ functions. Another consequence of these functions is that it also gives people who are not like him more easily the impression that they are like him, which I think is why a good amount of INFJ's do have the impression he's one of them. However, what is interesting is that I do not think these INFJ's will really not as easily get the impression of being close to an INFJ youtuber, because as you said they do not as easily put all their cards on the table like that, if they're even really capable of doing so because of functions their functions not being as optimal for that as those of the INFP.
He looks like an ISTJ tbh. The punctuality, planning and perfectionism. He even took the tests later on to figure out he was a sensor. This video is pure Si-Te
When I first watched it I honestly thought every procedure to be completely normal, not a single thought of "jeez this guy is a control freak", but seeing it in this analysis changes the whole thing.
@@basic-decaf Agreed. This is what I descirbed in my comment. He does normal things for anyone doing what he does, yet they paste an explanation on top of it that is completely theirs, not his'. Based on your other comments I see you also think FJ is an INFP. What is your type? My guess would be...ENTP?
Finally somebody bothered to clarify this, thank you! I know FJ mentioned it a couple times in the past, but I feel nobody understands how these stereotypes work. Saying the same words one time does not necessarily indicate a personality type. A better indicator is what approach to a situation do we regularly and comfortably fall back on.
I know you guys have talked before about how people of the same type can look quite similar... Have you noticed any traceable patterns between personality type and where that person is situated in their family (ex. oldest, youngest, middle, only child)?
I’m ESTJ and the youngest. It one way it sucks , because I was never given any responsibility and my Si didn’t want to rock the boat, birth order and all that.
@@hirsch4155 INFP, and I’m the youngest too! INFPs naturally don’t like taking responsibility for the external, so imagine what that looks like. However, there was a part of me that wanted to prove myself because all of my 3 siblings are much older than me. So in some aspects, I matured faster, and in others, I relied on my siblings more. I cannot label myself as mature or not due to the evident duality of our existence. How do you think being the youngest affected your development compared to the average ESTJ? What does it even feel like being an ESTJ?
INFJs will not understand this video because the dude isn't planning much at all, just describing his day job process. It's a big deal to him because his life is a mess, mostly because he's not an INFJ.
You two should start averaging out the faces for each of the types. Then it will be anonymous. That would help so much people. Starting with 32 averages then eventually 512 averages. That would literally change the world.
INTP here, and seeing Frank James making multiple takes Just In Case sends me into a quiet frenzy of "I should do that." That time I pronounced "cumin" as "come in," I'm lookin' right at YOU.
Oh man this is trippin' me out! INFJ here, been following Frank James for a while now and it's great to see the perspective of his friends. I can relate exactly to Frank's over planning (Normal planning for us i guess) and completely get why he's doing it. Gave me some great insight to myself. Thanks!
He's an INFP. His planning is coming from Fi-Si sleep, organizing the sensory (not abstract) the way he likes it. He likes to have multiple recordings and to choose what he wears on the fly as to not limit his Ne possibilities. His Te-Si blast is just showing the tribe how the way he organized the sensory works in the external world, like a system. He exhibited Ne-Te play when he joked around about the camera having full storage mid-recording: a slight possibility (of many) about things not working. He mentioned what he likes, he showed control, and he brought up the chaos. Where does he talk about the tribe? Please tell me how he is an INFJ.
Glad you pointed it out. He's indeed an INFP. It's clear he does not have Fe or Ti. Where does he ever display these functions? Also, he displays lots of Ne ...Oh well, people might just trust "authories" without thinking themselves..
Oh my gosh, this is me making my videos haha. And then I get so frustrated with myself if anything ever is off. Watching this actually made me feel a bit better that it's not just me. So many other youtubers I'm friends with are able to wing it more, and I just don't get it.
WOW, thanks. I am for sure NOT Ni first. I think I'd eventually make it to this but it would take trial and error because so little planning would be done on my part. I'd just get started.
Regardless of what Frank James's type is or isn't I still enjoy watching his content. He has a way of presenting that I'm entertained by & an aura about him that I feel connected to. People need to stop getting so hung up on labels & just learn to accept the experience without being so judgemental.
Hes a fraud because he mistyped me as an ISFJ and I'm an ISFP. But what's worse, he has a cult like following. If you say anything against him you get hammered. And hes average looking dude, but the female hyperbole in the comments makes me wonder if he pays people to comment. It's sick and twisted.
Dave & Shan might be changing my mind about FJ. I think he's a really good actor. I still don't understand him tho. I understand every other INFJ I've seen or talked to. He's strange.
He is not an INFJ..that's why. His charm is just Ne (quick, witty, "random"). INFJ's hardly ever have that particular kind of charm (if so, I'm curious to see an example)
@Sarah Ali That's the thing, though, if they were actually different personalities, they would look and sound different, but they don't. He is just as loud, his tone is the exact same, all he's doing is just spouting different quotes and changing his appearance. It is very apparent that he really doesn't understand the different personality types and doesn't know how to act. Which, to be honest, is very Fi, because he is remaining "true" to whoever Frank James is, and finds it impossible to deviate from that. Anyone with Fe can easily emote and mirror other personalities. FJ can't.
@Tommy Hass If Ne is quite high, maybe, but it still can't conflict with their Fi identity. For an Fi user it's all about what the priorities are. Frank James prioritizes being Frank James first.
as an INFJ who loves Frank James's videos, I felt this in my soul. I've never watched any of his behind the scenes videos, but seeing some of FJ's behind the scenes in this, I really relate to how FJ operates 😂
Maybe FJ's 2018 phrase "you know what I'm saying"/"you know what I'm talking about" is taken from Dave here as he has learned from Objective Personality a lot due to his stupid comments at many of your vids Edit: he still uses these phrases to this day
OMG! He is me planning my homeschool year for my kids. I do it early, like months early, over prepare, plan to satisfy the dumb tribe public school system, plan for the enjoyment and achievement of my kids, and then go. Hey, it works well though! When hiccups pop up, they are easier to handle.
You can also see him boasting on inferior sensory, the dishes are in the sink and there’s my reflection in the picture glass and I’m clearing the SD card.
I cant tell if I have this level of planning or its just my anxiety. I cant leave my house if I didnt previously go on google maps and looked at everything nearby our route (ex: backup train routes, places to eat incase someone has a specific diet, at least two nearby bathrooms, a park to sit if we want to take a break and eat, atms or a bank nearby incase we need cash) I also always have to carry hand sanitizer, lotion, my phone charger, makeup bag and a ziploc bag full of napkins, paper straws, bandaids etc. ....But then when it comes to assignments I usually wait til last minute because whatever my plan is takes me too long. Now that I typed all that out im realizing its just my anxiety about being outside and just standing around on the street with nowhere to go...
Very much enthusiastically talking about sensory details ohh yes that's not Si child. His approach to "interest and enterntain others" based on various "what if" unrealistic possibilities, are not even Ne? But Ni.. how? Is there any faulty misunderstanding are spreaded about functions? Who is right then? I'm very likely seeing him as INFP (and NO I've not came here because of CSJ..) I can clearly can see Ne-Si is FJ's approach.. And primary Fi-Te axis balancing more with Te to get recognition among people that is what key to his success and to his happiness.. please enlighten me if I'm wrong.. Is my internal framework of logic is flawed? Are these people even talking about functions thoroughly and properly? Please help me to convince FJ is INFJ by using just functions with thorough understanding. Don't just tell me he plans his videos so Ni. 'Coz that's bummer.🤷
As an Ne aux (INFP) I can’t stare at the bow for too long pretending it is a person because I can see it as a bow literally. I would have to literally move my eyes all over just to visualise a person because even in conversations I cant stare at someone for too long.
Wow this is wild! I Want to do a behind the scenes now but there's not much to show about production haha. I think I'd just end up showing you other random things in the room.
Can somebody who is determined that Frank James is an INFP instead of an INFJ just like elaborate on WHY? I don't get it. He seems a lot like other INFJs I know tbh, but as an INFP, I don't really resonate with him either, so I'm confused.
@Tommy Hass Well nobody has ever told me externally, but it's pretty obvious that I am. Lol. I have all of the characteristics, the stereotypical mbti ones, as well as the fundamental objective personality characteristics, so yeah. The only other type that resonates would be maybe ENFP, but I'm definitely a single decider. I'm deathly afraid of tribe hate and retaliation. Always have been. But too highly individualistic to "fit in" to avoid tribe hate, because that would compromise my Fi identity.

@@PowerRedBullTypology No offense, but everything you're saying sounds highly anecdotal and has absolutely nothing to do with the Objective Personality framework which looks at the typology from a consistent and objective standpoint. Frank James does not seem to have IXXP problems or Ne EXXP chaos problems. Other than a few examples you saying something "looks like Ne/Fi/Si", which could easily be interpreted as Ni, Fe, or Se, you don't really have a case here. I typed as an INFP in the original mbti framework (I fall into all of the stereotypes), but I found that with the OP framework, I was still an INFP, but it introduced another perspective I had never thought about which I felt was more applicable to all INFPs as a whole. Using descriptors like "he's witty" or "he doesn't seem polite" are subjective.
@@lamarmcneil5655 Frank James is one of the vainest people out there. He is obsessed with himself and has no vision for his future. Everything he talks about is from his own perspective, and it's all about what HE likes. This is strong Fi. More evidence for strong Fi is that he finds it nearly impossible to emote anything outwardly. He can't even act and express any emotion other than the "huh? meh" awkward sarcasm that he is defined by. Thus, he can never truly become anyone other than himself in his skits. They all fall flat with typical Frank James MBTI meme quotes (more FiTe). Thing is, Fe users can act incredibly well, they don't have to align with their emotions in the way an Fi user does. Fe users truly emote and feel and act with ease. It's like the end of the world for Frank James to fake anything, and it's so obvious when he's trying to fake anything, because he is forcing himself to no longer be true to himself, and thus fails. It's also true, as said above, that he then wings everything he does and that he does most of his videos in one take (not the skits, but the others). This is strong Ne. Oh, there might be some other good takes so I'll just mess around and repeat it (NeSi). He also doesn't plan anything whatsoever. In this particular video, he is literally showing his "meh" reaction to the boring video-making process that he slowly developed over a long period of time (Si). It's called having a job. Any INFP would slowly come to terms over what process works for them (Si) and how they like to do things (Fi). This is not FJ manic planning that people are talking about, this is just a typical day in the life of an INFP who is bored by their job doing boring Si things where he's forcing himself to be personas that he's not. He's just not interested in getting acclaim from faking other personalities, but he does it anyways because it's what works (Te). Any INFP is also accounting for ideas and possible outcomes (Ne) when doing this Si process. Where Ni users would perfect the process outright with bravado, FJ slowly adapted this process over a long period of time. I could talk about going on tangents and rambling and never truly laser-focusing in on anything, but it seems like you have a hard time attributing that to Ne. SeNi is a forceful kind of "I need this information right now for this goal" whereas SiNe truly wanders around, mostly through the past, with no goal in the mind. Finally, Te -- he never, not once, has shown any capacity for thinking logically on his own. All he does is cite other sources, other people's work, OPS, MBTI tests, Tumblr MBTI memes, etc. Many of his videos are just presenting the opinions of others and talking about what he feels about them (TeFi). He rambles on and on and on about things he has been taught or things he discovered from other people, thinking out loud. He never creates anything originally himself. In fact, his MBTI skits were essentially stolen from Bogdan Yakubets. He has made his TH-cam channel thrive on what WORKS (Te) with the algorithm, from a pragmatic, practical standpoint, while always being depressed because he can't figure out how to fix his own life, totally self-absorbed, still needing more and more attention and acceptance from his TH-cam audience. Yet, he's never satisfied because he is not actually presenting his authentic self (Fi) -- as Dave and Shan presented a couple videos ago. He getting a reputation for subject matter that has nothing to do with him, and he's crushed by that. The thing is, INFJs are actually very, very rare. Most of the INFJs you see are truly other types (INTPs can often believe they are INFJs, for example). INFJs are logical, precise, and most importantly, succinct, often LIVING THEIR LIFE as an example to others. They don't hop on TH-cam to do what everyone else is doing! LOL that is the furthest thing from what an INFJ would do! Frank James started his channel to simply vlog and get people to care about him and his problems. In his interviews, he even stated that he needed to reach a wider audience so that people would "pay attention to me." It's all about him. His face is in every video and thumbnail. He practically worships himself. This dude is straight up not an INFJ.
I do. I do. I admit. I have the Frank James level of fussiness. My mind never stops planning. My mind never stops tweeking to make it better. My mind never stops thinking of what might happen as a result of different actions. It never stops!
I wonder if talking about yourself using Ti rather than Fi is what is confusing people in the comments - anyone can talk about themselves, but are they talking about their Ti constructed internal 'truths', what they have discovered works for them personally on a practical level? or are they talking Fi about their internal values, what they specifically find pleasing or honorable for their own sense of rightness? This example shows the Ni-Ti-Fe-Se all working together for the larger Ni vision of his work to convey information about how people work, which is so obvious, so day to day Ni-Fe for him he doesn't even mention it. But the focused use of Ti and Se to serve that vision he does mention. Frank seems particularly well integrated as an INFJ, contrary to most of these typing videos that highlight where people are NOT well integrated with all their parts. You can see he's 'done the work' on himself over the years on his channel.
I suppose this explains why I have my mother's wedding all planned out ... and she's only friends with the guy as of now ... This is just my natural state of being, lol, and I ENJOY it. Glad I don't need to take on the OCD label anymore! Curious how this would compare to an INTJ 🤔
@@titemartiniquaise Hmmm...interesting. I am still struggling with whether I am an INFJ or an ENFX. I test about 95% of the time as INFJ and then the other % ENFP mostly. I normally have a rough idea of what I want to do and then I just see what happens. Half the time the things I didn't plan for are sooo much better than what I did plan. My barometer also a lot of time is if my gut feels right about it then it's completed so as to avoid overthinking.
Glad that it's now fully, officially confirmed. I got into CSJ's videos a couple weeks ago, and of course watched the INFJ vs INFP one. I used to think I was INFJ but after watching that it became clear that I am more INFP than INFJ. But it confused me because I watched a lot of FJ's videos and wonder how I could relate so much to them and be a different type? Made me think Frank might be an INFP as well. Maybe it's just the difference in the systems. But maybe there's a little more to it than that. I have to be honest with myself when it comes to Fe. Frank clearly cares more about how other people are feeling than I do. I care about that, but I've learned to not let that pressure me into doing something I'm not comfortable with. I wonder if the combination of Ni-Fe sometimes appears like Fi and maybe that's what creates all the confusion?
I think that confusion can come from how INFPs and INFJs are both generally reserved and socially considerate people. But just reserved for different reasons, Fi versus Ni reasons. Fi is like keeping emotions and values personal, Ni is reserved for future outcome reasons, often ultimately seeking societal social cohesion. Think Gandolph, and resting anxious face. With INFPs I've personally noticed something more like a resting teddy bear or poker smile expression. I just know when I try to Fe with my INFP friends/family it doesn't generally work out too well. Which makes me realize that they are working from a very different set of motivations, and I can't seem to get them to Fe with me no matter how hard I've tried. Lol
@@Gio-sx7kt I understand most of what you're saying, minus the Gandalf and resting anxious face (sadly, I don't follow LOTR that closely). I unfortunately ended up with RBF. Not sure exactly how that happened but I can't tell you how many times people have told me to smile when I felt perfectly content. I definitely relate to the part about keeping emotions and values personal, though. It's definitely a struggle for me to Fe with my family. Something about the impersonal aspect of being online makes it easier to do online though. My gaming friends probably see me as way more affectionate than my family does. If more people realized the stark contrast between Fi and Fe, there might be less confusion between INFJ and INFP. I know I would have been a lot less confused.
How does FJ care about other people? He has a TH-cam channel where his face is everywhere on literally everything talking about himself nonstop. Most obviously vain person I've ever seen.
@Tommy Hass Really? Whenever I use his type grid I come up with INFP. ENFP would be informative, initiating, movement/process, and I'm very much more responding than initiating. Again, I feel far more comfortable online so I think trying to type me from comments would be very misleading. However, I respect your opinion, and since I haven't examined ENFPs that closely, I am curious what Te child looks like/why you see Te child from my comments?
Dave: "It's really hard to see!" Me, INFP: absolutely lost it laughing when he had the music stand with printed script and flower colour, I would NEVER in ten billion years... No, I see it Dave XD
But have you ever physically search three stores for a specific product that you really like or brought a pillow from home to a hotel because you can't sleep on those hard rock hotel pillow?
@@basic-decaf Unclear if that was directed at me (OP) but um, yes I have, a lot of them (typical INFP) and I'm not sure if you were intending to come across as super passive-aggressive and rude but you definitely did. People of all cognitive types can be successful, we all just approach life and its challenges differently. If the implication was that I must be a 14 year old with no "real world" experience because I don't like to excessively, compulsively plan then you're dead wrong, sorry. The point of this video is that only a small portion of the population behaves like FJ, so obviously you don't have to be like him to be successful.
@@alexandragatto Anyone who has worked a job with responsibilities follows a process similar to what FJ is doing here. This isn't compulsive planning, this is just a process, like the process you'd do at any other job. Even McDonald's requires more planning from their employees than what FJ is doing. Nothing about what he's doing is complicated or intricate or anything. Camera in position, ok. Wardrobe, ok. Flower, ok. Script, ok. Good to go! If you think that's ridiculous planning, I just don't know what to say.
I would never plan like that. I would just think of things to say on the spot for each type. Maybe have some general ideas beforehand for some of them. Probably would retake a try if I felt like I said it wrong. Also, I doubt I would film all type one after the other with a script like he does. Probably would film each one when I get a good idea for it and edit all of them together when I have all of them. The end result would probably be worst though. Very interesting since we have the same functions, just in reverse order. -ESTP
Now think about what he is running through while doing his live streams, where there is like no chance of getting ahead of any possible chaos that could come up... And still making sure everyone on the stream, the chat is feeling good... *thumbs up for FJ*
What about planning as a result of anxiety? Does that occur in the demon state, or is the anxiety part of the normal planning process for organizers? (Trying to type myself lol.) Like planning what you’re gonna say on a phone call out of fear of awkwardness and making a fool of oneself, for example. How can you tell if it’s demon/saviour state?
Ok, so I started watching him to help my INFJ newly single good friend from childhood... like we were basically married for 8 years accept we are both female and unfortunately not gay haha. So, I watched him and then I felt so so bad for him that I tried to hook him up with the typematch girl... taken. Please help Frank James get a partner. It’s so sad. I know he needs very particular specs and situations for this to happen and having to be any part of that says that I’m an ExxJ, but seriously oh my Gawd help!!! Haha
In my opinion, he's a self proclaimed INFJ (maybe for marketing purposes because it matches his name (FJ)?). There's a video that observes his behavior during interviews that types him as an infp. My question: what does this channel think. Is this video basically saying Dave\Shan believe FJ is an actual infj? edit: sorry, rewatched the video; 'yes' answer was clearly given. I hold this channel in such high regard regard though...so I guess I was wrong. edit2: after seeing other comments on here, honestly not sure what stance to take
It seems Dave and Shan hardly ever really disagree with the types of youtubers who have lots of subscribers. If so, i'm interested to see them. I think they want to avoid issues with other important members of the community. I think people do not realise how much stategy dave uses. He recently explained in an interview how they make videos of certain types more positive to influence public perception of that type. That at least showcases quite a lot of usage of strategy, which is also what INTJ's are known for.
@@PowerRedBullTypology Very interesting. I never thought of the possibility of outside forces tying their hands and preventing true objectivity; it makes a lot of sense considering how Fi FJ's earlier videos are; I was befuddled how he could've been typed INFJ in spite of them. this one for example, from someone earlier: th-cam.com/video/Q5aKR55a18E/w-d-xo.html
Makes me go, do I do this? Maybe? Just maaaaybeee....? Mmm nope. Just my brain thinking it wants to be lead Ni even though I’ve concluded long ago that’s not really possible. And having all shirts be the same would make my mornings simpler, which I dream of, but man I’d be bored out of my skull with no other options ever. Still might buy two of the same if I like it though so they won’t get worn out that quickly. Maybe in different colours if that’s an option. Just extroverting to solidify my thoughts. Carry on.
you know he planned the planning of the behind the scenes - so meta ❤️
I feel like if I explained why I had everything laid out in my apartment the way I do, it would be much the same including pointing out the dirty dishes. Lol And I probably explain why I have dirty dishes.
I really miss his more candid, talking-head/confessional style videos. They just felt more genuine, vulnerable and... “frank.”
It's true that lately he expanded the social media presence and opted for funnier videos that appeal to a larger audience, I feel like he's treating it more as a business and with the audience expanding he may feel awkward revealing very personal stuff about himself as he used to, to many many people. I don't dislike what he's up to now but I agree the older, simpler videos were great.
yea I miss those days
I'm sure as an INFJ major plans still go into his sincere videos too. Check out this INFJ Tom for more videos like Frank James. th-cam.com/channels/Q6vpcF4c9wW3IT5m27w67A.html
@@mariek.474 Yeah, you nailed it. I'm absolutely happy for his success and channel popularity though.
@@mariek.474 I know, right? IxxP problems. Weird with people, comfortable with things.
As another INFJ, I have trouble to see how he's overdoing it... ʅ(◞‿◟)ʃ
Right. What are we supposed to do, just go for it and hope that it all works out? Because in that case it definitely won't, and it's going to be aggravating.
yes!!!! right? that is just the basics
I know right? !
He's not overdoing anything. Pretty standard stuff for anyone with a job (INFP/ISTJ here).
Great job laying out how Ni actually articulates it’s responsibility.
seems like all TH-camrs making videos about MBTI are watching each other lmao
Thats so true lol!
Frank's videos were my introduction to MBTI, I love them and his personality so much !
Pretty typical ISJ response.
Oh man (just my saying, don't care of genders here)
As an ISTJ, it's fully reasonable to calm down and not have a plan lol
As an ISFJ I can see why you're making these plans. It's just about how probable or important these things are. I like plans a lot, but sometimes you just have to embrace chaos and not care.
You could also just call the taxi to pick you up 30 minutes earlier. It's the easiest solution and doesn't require much else. If it doesn't come to pick you up, you'll probably have enough time to go by bus or something else depending on your city.
The amount of non INFJ people who think they know what INFJ is in these comments is ridiculous.
Oh lord, this is going to be the most clicked typology video of all time.
(Pin this comment. Thanks.)
@@petergabbelPLay I watched a vid of his completely through today just to check what people were saying, and yes. He is definitely a decider. I’ve been waiting for this video! Frank is the only person that made me accept myself and all of my quirks
I'm ENFP but really love listening to Frank James' critiques on INFJs; I somehow relate to some of the things, which explains the ying/yang of Enfp/INFJ.
He and you guys are my faves.
Hey I'm infp do you have Kik?

Frank James is good! He gets me right 90% of the time in those skits. I laugh so hard. I’ve said some of those ENFJ things verbatim! 😂
My INTJ ass watching this video: How is that overplanning? Aren't usual people like this?
They put his name in the video and linked to his channel?! Yesss thankyou from an info Dom:)
I have nothing against the guy, but he just showcases a completely diffrent function stack in his videos
- Rather than politely talking to the viewers which a high Fe user would do, Frank James just speaks his mind in completly unfiltered and funny way this entire video and in other videos.
- In the videos where he talks about something he is often distracted by other ideas and deviates easily from his main story (Ne, not Ni)
- When he describes things from the past, he's very, very particular about what happened in which order and experiences pain as he's experiencing it now (Si)
- He does not know how to interact with people, which is at least in typical INFJ's uncommon because their Fe is pretty good.
Ti is too absend for third slot position(which an INFJ would have)
So yeah, frank james is more likely a type like an INFP or ENFP..but not likely at all as an INFJ
Very good point
@Tommy Hass Great addition to the conversation. Obviously can't explain what I don't understand, bud. Perhaps you can enlighten me?
Update: MM Ne/Fi CS/P(B) here, and checking out this channel is quite possibly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made
This is extremely similar to me in the job.
Amen. This dude placed a camera 7ft away to shoot a video. Holy crap Ni savior state!!
basic decaf Yep, it’s called focal length, not planning magic. It’s what photographers do.
Informative responding control
Lol ikr
It’s weird that they typed him as an infj as well.
He looks like an ISTJ tbh. The punctuality, planning and perfectionism. He even took the tests later on to figure out he was a sensor. This video is pure Si-Te
Yes, this is how you type people 😂 using concepts that have been proven to be unreliable
you guys! i'm addicted. so much charisma in here
When I first watched it I honestly thought every procedure to be completely normal, not a single thought of "jeez this guy is a control freak", but seeing it in this analysis changes the whole thing.
Why would this analysis change anything? Dude controls as much as anyone would control.
@@basic-decaf Agreed. This is what I descirbed in my comment. He does normal things for anyone doing what he does, yet they paste an explanation on top of it that is completely theirs, not his'. Oh come on. Dude is so not an INFJ. He's as much INFJ as Dave is ESTP.
I'm thinking ENXP/IXFP.
"OH LOOK! SQUIRREL!"
He's not an INFJ, he's an INFP or ENFP. Totally terrible at typing people too- he typed me as an ISFJ, when I am an ISFP. The man is a fraud.
Infj here, trying to "do" sales... this explains why I cry so much.... lololol
That CHAOS!!!! 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😔🤣😔

INFP, and I’m the youngest too! INFPs naturally don’t like taking responsibility for the external, so imagine what that looks like.
However, there was a part of me that wanted to prove myself because all of my 3 siblings are much older than me.
So in some aspects, I matured faster, and in others, I relied on my siblings
more. I cannot label myself as mature or not due to the evident duality of our existence.
How do you think being the youngest affected your development compared to the average ESTJ?
What does it even feel like being an ESTJ?
He probably had a script to read during the behind the scenes.
I’m having a little trouble understanding how the outfits are Se but the flowers are Ni...
I didn't think there was all that much planning, but then again, I'm an INFJ too.
INFJs will not understand this video because the dude isn't planning much at all, just describing his day job process. It's a big deal to him because his life is a mess, mostly because he's not an INFJ.
Frank James is actually INFP.
You two should start averaging out the faces for each of the types. Then it will be anonymous. That would help so much people. Starting with 32 averages then eventually 512 averages. That would literally change the world.
There are already such studies. Google "socionics" or "mbti faces"
You can also find it in Type Tips channel
INTP here, and seeing Frank James making multiple takes Just In Case sends me into a quiet frenzy of "I should do that."
That time I pronounced "cumin" as "come in," I'm lookin' right at YOU.
We love Frank James, he sent us here.
Yeah I've been typed as an INFP/ISTJ before and nothing about this video is strange to me. Pretty typical planning for anything I've ever done.
Glad you pointed it out. He's indeed an INFP. It's clear he does not have Fe or Ti. Where does he ever display these functions? Also, he displays lots of Ne ...Oh well, people might just trust "authories" without thinking themselves..
@Tommy Hass One look at his TH-cam thumbnails hints that he's a decider.
Frank himself has said he is INFJ and has made multiple videos about it...

Oh my gosh, this is me making my videos haha. And then I get so frustrated with myself if anything ever is off. Watching this actually made me feel a bit better that it's not just me. So many other youtubers I'm friends with are able to wing it more, and I just don't get it.
Is the planning Frank James doing in these clips coming from sleep or blast?
He's Sharing what he does. But the actual planning is done in sleep, "how can I plan this, so that it works best for me."
FJ is Ni/Fe Blast Sleep, so it’s both
WOW, thanks.
So in short, Ni is about controlling things for the future through obsessive planning in a savior state.
There is literally nothing obsessive in this video.
I admit my comment was not very well written. I meant obsessive in a broader more colloquial sense.
More like an excessive rather than an obsessive.
Dave & Shan might be changing my mind about FJ. I think he's a really good actor. I still don't understand him tho. I understand every other INFJ I've seen or talked to. He's strange.
His acting is awful. Every type he "acts" doesn't look or sound different at all. Just another flavor of FJ spouting off a meme.
FJ can't.
@@basic-decaf ^ Facts. ^
@Tommy Hass If Ne is quite high, maybe, but it still can't conflict with their Fi identity. For an Fi user it's all about what the priorities are. Frank James prioritizes being Frank James first.
Still waiting for FJ's comment
Frank James is a INFP
How?
This didn’t age well.
With a brother and mother being ISTJ I always was told I am chaotic because I only plan out "2" outfits instead of all of them xD
But about the planning... isn't that just the obvius thing to do... ever? [nervous laugh]
Yes, anyone who works a job follows a process. Whether they like it or not.
I'm an INFP, and I hate doing things on the fly. But I also hate planning too much.
as an INFJ who loves Frank James's videos, I felt this in my soul. I've never watched any of his behind the scenes videos, but seeing some of FJ's behind the scenes in this, I really relate to how FJ operates 😂
Everyone saying he is INFP. Who should I believe?

Hey, I'm like this too! I always plan extensively for possible breakdowns. Well done, guys! - INFJ
Maybe FJ's 2018 phrase "you know what I'm saying"/"you know what I'm talking about" is taken from Dave here as he has learned from Objective Personality a lot due to his stupid comments at many of your vids
Edit: he still uses these phrases to this day
Someone should show this to CS Joseph. He is convinced Frank is an INFP.
He’s not INFJ. He’s INFP
LOOOOOOL. Hello, ENTP.
- Rather than politely talking to the viewers which a high Fe user would do, Frank James just speaks his mind in completly unfiltered and funny way this entire video and in other videos.
His display is more "raw" (Fi) than "polite" (Fe)
- In the videos where he talks about somethinghe is often distracted by other ideas and deviates easily from his main story (Ne, not Ni)
- When he describes things from the past, he's very, very particular about what happened in which order and experiences pain as he's experiencing it now (Si)
- He does not know how to interact with people and avoids htem, which is at least in typical INFJ's uncommon because their Fe is pretty good. Just look at Joyce Meng's videos or Renaud Continis videos or even eric thor's videos. That's INFJ Fe! It's polite social interaction where everything is filtered and packaged in a pleassant manner for the viewers. FJ is just himself and witty. He says things that are not 'save' to say. That's what makes it funny and light. That's Ne charm!
Fe tends to play ir more on save and say things that will be more SURE about are perceived in a positive manner .
- FJ hardly ever showcases usage of Ti. Where does he even reason? Ti seems missing!
(so yeah, frank james is an INFP)
@@PowerRedBullTypology What's it about Frank James that people are debating about his type? I'm curious. 👍
As an INFJ watching this video in one of my many navy blue sweaters, I feel attacked
I do. I do. I admit. I have the Frank James level of fussiness. My mind never stops planning. My mind never stops tweeking to make it better. My mind never stops thinking of what might happen as a result of different actions. It never stops!
Over-planning? There is no such thing! Of course we plan for optional chaos. That’s just common sense.
Omg... I do have Frank James Ni savior state.

I would never plan like that. I would just think of things to say on the spot for each type. Maybe have some general ideas beforehand for some of them. Probably would retake a try if I felt like I said it wrong. Also, I doubt I would film all type one after the other with a script like he does. Probably would film each one when I get a good idea for it and edit all of them together when I have all of them. The end result would probably be worst though.
I hold this channel in such high regard regard though...so I guess I was wrong.
edit2: after seeing other comments on here, honestly not sure what stance to take
@@TheNicMMc Sure! Starts around 34 minutes th-cam.com/video/z5Xc9ri8GO4/w-d-xo.html
I never thought of the possibility of outside forces tying their hands and preventing true objectivity; it makes a lot of sense considering how Fi FJ's earlier videos are; I was befuddled how he could've been typed INFJ in spite of them.
this one for example, from someone earlier:

Dave - love your shirts brah... navy is good. Ha! Same shit every day.
now i dont know if i am an enxp or inxj
Oh FJ is cute
Makes me go, do I do this? Maybe? Just maaaaybeee....? Mmm nope. Just my brain thinking it wants to be lead Ni even though I’ve concluded long ago that’s not really possible.
And having all shirts be the same would make my mornings simpler, which I dream of, but man I’d be bored out of my skull with no other options ever. Still might buy two of the same if I like it though so they won’t get worn out that quickly. Maybe in different colours if that’s an option.
Just extroverting to solidify my thoughts. Carry on.
Thank God I'm not an infj. Lol
Neither of you know how to type. Quit this channel. Frank James is an INFP.
I like James since he became resourceful but funny. And I have his level of planning, details are important.
