Hey Blade, this is one of the best review/thoughts on the Vulcan S. I've watched many & ive never heard anyone say a bad thing about these bikes. I'm coming off of a GSXR 750 which was stupid for street riding & the Vulcan S looked like the perfect alternative but I ended up on a Sportster which I love but I'm kicking myself for not test riding a Vulcan, a sporty cruiser, the perfect bike. Nice job!
Pragmatic Tornado I agree, I know that they are awesome bikes, def on my list for next bike. Yes I bought a 1200 & love it, it's a blast to ride & likes to be ridden hard. It's a fun bike to ride
Nice. Haven't tried a 1200 Sportster yet, but I've ridden a couple other Harleys. I know the 1200 Sportster is supposed to be pretty quick, for a Harley. I considered one myself at one point, but ended up getting a much cheaper Kawasaki Vulcan instead.. Which I had for like 3 months, haha. Bought a Hayabusa right after that. Quite a step up.
It was a 1993 Vulcan 750. Twin carbs, twin cams, liquid cooled and with a shaft drive. It was pretty peppy for a small cruiser actually, but I kinda ruined it when I bought a set of V&H pipes for it. Became way too loud, and the original exhaust pretty much fell apart when I took it off, so couldn't put that back on either. Ended up selling it super cheap to my stepfather, who used it as a learner bike before he got his motorcycle license. Then he bought a big Harley and sold the Vulcan :P I'm fairly sure I would like the Vulcan S a whole lot more if I owned one though. I briefly had a 1999 Yamaha Dragstar 1100 last summer too, in absolute mint condition. Only rode it a couple times before I sold it, but I kinda wanted to keep it. Such great bikes. Unfortunately, I had too many bikes and had to get rid of it. I've blown through like 6 bikes the last 3 seasons. Love trying new ones.
Had mine since 2015, absolutely love it, last year I took a trip with 12 friends from Michigan to North Carolina (Blue ridge skyway) , we did 1600 miles in 5 days. It performed absolutely great. I was riding with guys in larger bikes but my bike was perfectly able to keep up. Even if I buy a larger bike in the future, I am keeping this bike.
I didn't know about this bike until I stopped into a local dealership today. I'm 5'4 and have always worried about height on a back. Now I'm looking at this as my first motorcycle as a gift to myself for my 50th. This video has sealed the deal for me. Thanks much!
Your videos have helped a lot in my research on a first bike. I just ordered a new 2018 Vulcan S ABS Special Edition this weekend, I should have it in a week or two. I never had a bike license when I was living in New Jersey (too much traffic everywhere), but it was always on my bucket list. After I moved to Quebec, I finally got my bike license - driving school is mandatory here, so I learned on their bikes - and now I am finally getting my own. Bike season is shorter up here of course, but we have tons of scenic roads to ride on just minutes from Montreal. Can't wait to go riding! Thanks, and keep up the good work!
You are very welcome, thank you so much for watching! I will be living in Vermont not to far from Montreal next year. If you would ever want to meet up to ride, just message me on facebook. Thanks for watching!
I love the speed and maneuverability of the bike! I had mine since 2016. Prior to this bike, i had a Honda Shadow,,. I just love the way it handles! i didnt know about the next fuel range, thanks for that!!
I own this bike for almost 2 years , traveling almost 30,000 km . Vulcan s is just awesome bike and great value for your bucks. Before I bought this bike, I had tried sportster 883 and X48 with a test ride. Those raw features, especially the all time exaggerated vibration annoying me off HD. I just checked Kawasaki ‘ bikes at local dealer, all bikes are great finish and details including this bad boy. Two months later, I bought my VS in black color way with ABS with NO doubt.
I have had mine for 8 months now and have about 2300 miles on it. It seems to get more fun every time I ride it. Took it out for a couple hours of riding the twisties in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas last weekend. FUN FUN FUN. Also took it up to 100 MPH for the first time last weekend and it still had more I could go.
i had the pleasure of borrowing one of these bikes from a buddy of mine and i must say, the vulcan s is still one of my most favorite bikes to ride. Im from arkansas so was able ride the pig trail and many other great routes which was a blaaaaast! Having the comfort of a cruiser with the nimbleness and pep of a more sporty bike makes curvy roads waaay to fun!
great video I love the bike, im trying to decide on the Vulcan S or Honda phantom 750. I love your windshield on there it looks perfect in fit and function. great job on the video, audio was perfect too so you are doing great Vloging my friend. be safe and i love your bike!!
Thank you sir! Glad you liked it. I had this bike 5 years ago. It was my first, and I traded it for an Indian and have changed my whole channel since then. But hopefully you'll still find some other interesting videos here even though I'm no longer on the Vulcan S. Thanks again for watching!
I just bought it recently, a 2020 in Mysterious Gray, although it's more purple than gray. I love the bike for its look, it's comfort, handling, ease of use and power.
I own the exact same one with 13k miles. I have not used the power adapter either. I do have a gps unit with a mount with the relay built in with it. The gear indicator is useful when going long distances. It helps me remember which gear i am in when transitioning from interstates and local highways. It is a crotch rocket so i was confident to change the front sprocket to 16t from 15t and rear 43t from 46t. Rolls off alot smoother
Got mine last july, 2017 SE with the nice rich red colour. made 7.5k in 3 months (now waiting for the winter to be over) that's how much i love this bike. i also have a suzuki that i don't use anymore, it's going for sale this month. so far on the vulcan s i installed a puig windshield, imo the best aftermarket windshield for the vulcan s, made my own fender eliminator for about $25 the after market one cost $150 over here, the one i made look exactly the same. installed spool and got a rear jack so i can do my oil change and take care of the chain, new brake and clutch lever, red to match the colour of the bike.
I been following for a while and today, I have bought one. She'll be delivered in 3 weeks, your videos were useful in making this decision and now I can't wait. I managed to pick up one in a matte black and it looks fucking gorgeous in matte black. I know you'll now be making me jealous with your new Indian. :P
I've got the vulcan s cafe 2017, super ride! Really smooth! Installed a scorpion exhaust, sounds really nice! #safetyfirst Your videos had me convinced, and I'm still in love with the bike after a couple of months! Keep it up!
It's my 4th month and one day and 94 miles :-D This winter is hanging on for dear life. 19 degrees this morning warming up to 39 later. 11 degrees below normal. Snow showers the last few days and again between Saturday and Sunday. By next Thursday it is suppose to be sunny and 46 degrees. I will ride then ;-) Thanks for posting!
Audio is great. I think you nailed it this time. Just a bit of poping during transitions. I love watching your channel grow, and cant wait to see more of your videos
I'm a previously happy owner of a 6500 cc Versys, sold it a couple years but I'm still in love with it. Now I'm looking to ease down a bit and buy Vulcan S. My wif will enjoy it more but I know Versys will still be in mind. Or maybe Vulcan proves me wrong ;)

I have a Honda Fury, but the Vulcan looks like so much fun to throw around the Twisties. Good Video!
@MotoBlade hello there, question here...on this video, @1:18, you mention that it corners like a "sport bike"...my inquiry, have you done something to the foot pegs to allow you to lean the bike as you state? In the following video, th-cam.com/video/EigQlLJK1HI/w-d-xo.html, @6:35, the rider actually scrapes the right peg and further down @7:25, one can see where the bike cannot lean much period. Is there something you modified to your Vulcan S? Trying to find my 1st bike. Thank you for your time and input.
Great video dude. I'm considering buying a 2019 Vulcan as my daily commuter in the city. What do you think? Is it up for the task or the suspension is not that comfortable for that?
Suspension yes. Seat is a little different. If you’re going to ride it long haul I would upgrade to a better seat or a custom seat. Corbin makes one. Very nice and worth it if you’re riding long hours. Just for commuting? You’ll rip up the streets and have a blast. No problem.
Great review. I’m new to riding and I took a while to pick the right bike. For me this has everything and is beginner friendly whilst still a lot left to make it stay enjoyable whilst I get more experience
Love my bike. I have the café' style. I put the two brothers full pipe on sounds great awesome power, BUT if you plan on using this pipe you had better love a very loud bike. Have fun and ride on.
Hello from France ^^ This bike will be my first bike ^^ this color is fabulous :D, great video and great review thank you very much :) you won a new sub ^^
Hi,love ur video, love the bike.Thinking to get one but I'm little worried isn't to late for me to start driving bike when you're 50 years old? Last time I drove bike like 27 years ago.
John Smith It's never too late! I would recommend taking the safety course like I did. Lots of updated information that some of the older riders found very useful even though they had been riding for years. I would recommend looking at the Indian Chief Dark Horse. You can watch my full review of that on my channel. I upgraded to that bike mainly for comfort reasons. The Vulcan S is fun, but for longer rides and touring comfort, Indian is the way to go now. Thanks for watching!
John, there's been a 30 year gap between when I rode a bike in New York, and now in Florida. At the age of 74, I treated myself to the birthday present of a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS KRT Edition, which I love and which is sufficient for my needs. Three words to you: Go for it!
Power accessory: I installed a USB power adapter on mine, and use it all the time. I keep my iPhone in RAM mount and plugged into the USB power, to run Waze while I ride. Works beautifully.
Everything you said is true ... except the colour. I still think it's hideous. One other thing - I had to install mirror extenders on mine so that I could see past my own shoulders. Some people may not like the exhaust sound because it's too quiet. I'm OK with it. The 2017 model has a gear indicator so the digital display is even more informative now. As you say, this bike is fast for a 650. I went on holiday with two friends on Ducatis and they never managed to drop me even when they tried. Perhaps its most impressive characteristic, again as you say, is its cornering ability - absolutely unbelievable for a cruiser. Ride safe mate.
I never even thought of mirror extenders, that would've helped a lot! I grew to like th color over time, I did not like it at all at first. I definitely miss it's cornering capabilities, it was an awesome bike. Ride safe brother!
Hi Blade, how much did you pay for it if you don’t mind me asking and did you have a trade in. I’ve been wanting a cruiser with fuel gauge and liquid cooling for my size as I’m not that tall. Great vid!
I paid $4,000 cash for it no trade in, as it was my first motorcycle. They wanted $5,000. I talked them down to 4, and made them deliver it to my house as I was too nervous to drive it home ah, the days of being a new rider, so long ago 😂). Hope that helps. It was a great bike. Thanks for watching!
Nope, no problems switching to an aftermarket exhaust, in fact I highly recommend doing so. However, I would suggest getting a power commander to re-tune the engine for maximum power with the new exhaust.
Great video, i have a vulcan s 650, i would like to know about the windshield is efficient on long trips and i would also like to know if it changes the aerodynamics of the bike. Thank you very much
It's okay. Over 50 mph, the medium one doesn't do much, the tall one may work better but I don't know for sure because I only had the medium height windshield.
Very nice video. Like the comments and the environment of the ride. I'm wondering about the brightness of lamps. Some owners complain about the front lamp and some people either changed it to LED or just added 2 extra LED lamps yo look more custom. Are You planning any if these 2 options? Is there any chance to put Cruise control? Any brand yo recommend? Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Regards from ALC, Spain.
I ended up selling the bike (I ride a Chieftain Dark Horse now, which you can see on my channel). Had I kept it, I would have upgraded to an LED. I just upgraded to LEDs on the Chieftain and they are definitely worth it. Much brighter and I can see much further than using standard halogen lamps. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
Did you ever take your KVS on the Tail of the Dragon? Cockney Biker took Uncle Red out there , and he's talking about going again. I'm thinking of taking my KVS the 300ish miles from here to LA to join them, riding it up from LA to the Tail and than riding it over the Tail. Not sure if I'll like riding it that far and if it will handle the Tail well.
Looking for a first/ 2nd bike, am seeing a few videos of guys loving this bike! I am getting information on a few bikes, Honda 500/ shadow phantom, Yamaha bolt/ even the Indian scout bobber/ and the Kawasaki Vulcan s/ or the Vulcan 900 custom! great video...love the sparkly green..lol
I have an FZ1 and am concerned about dropping off from 1000cc to 650cc but I am loving the look of the Vulcan S more and more. Do you have any comments on that specifically? Side note: i'm 5 foot 6 and about 175lbs, so i'm a smaller rider. Most riding is done locally but usually several times per summer I want to do long, all-day rides. How does this do in that?
Eddy Lindenstein I haven't tried the FZ1, but you'd be dropping about 80hp to the Vulcan S. It's a totally different style. I am similar at 5 foot 7, 29 inch inseam. It's a very comfortable riding position for longer rides, but I would definitely replace the seat. Hope this helps!
Just got one 2018 leftover with the white, I love it, btw how is the wind screen? Does it really help? And should I get the magnetic bag over the tank?
Seriously, some questions, and feel free to steer me to another vid, if you've answered this there....what's your opinion on the Vulcan S for a "first bike in a long while." Like 30 years. Want to get back on two, and I'm liking the looks of this one. Secondly...opinion on acceleration? Shifting/clutch work? Breaking? Reliability? Maintenance? And, any other Vulcan S riders, feel free to light up the comments. I've got a three horse race of different bikes, and can't afford to buy-and-sell...really need to nail it the first time.
Definitely the Vulcan S. Maintenance periods are every 7k miles with minimal work needing to be done (basic oil change, etc.). Braking is fantastic. Handling is great. Acceleration is very quick if you want it to be. (It's a ninja sport engine at its core). It was my first bike and I could not have been happier. I will link to two other videos in another comment here going over a full review and the couple of things I would change. Overall satisfaction with the bike, 90/100. Hope this and the videos are helpful to you!
Check out the other video on my channel about brand reliability. Kawasaki is very high on the list. Also, the clutch and brake levers are adjustable and very positive, comfortable shifting. Here are 2 other helpful videos from my channel that may be of use to you. th-cam.com/video/rTdYNQ3uy4M/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/YmkY6RMx9Zo/w-d-xo.html
Motoblade, okay my friend, I be likin' this! I like your reviews and commentary. Particularly appreciate your sharing the downsides and what you'd like to change. I'm thinking this is my frontrunner now; but, the Yamaha Bolt, Suzuki C50 are still nipping at it's heels. The Honda CTX700N was on my list, but is falling off. The Honda Aero recently got a recommendation. As a group, I'm thinking it's a "no-lose" situation. Thanks for all your insight
will do! by looks, the bolt is my fave; but, I'm trying to be responsible, and do silly things like consider build quality, performance, maintenance.... :-)
Almost done 10,000 klms in first year and had its second service everything is in great condition no cost apart from the services yet im a happy owner also . m 0 .. 0 m
When you put the 12v adapted on your VS did you put a accessory relay on it as well? Mine will be a year old June/2019, I have quite a few accessories from Kawasaki on her, which are way over priced, but I still love it.
Yes I did. I did a video on that installation on my channel. Relay is required to install the accessories. I agree, they're a bit overpriced, but such a great bike.
trying to decide between this and the yamaha mt07, i want to use mainly as a commuter but also like to take trips to see the folks who live a couple of hours away. what do u think?
@@Hengaanvaan it’s been years since I made this video, and I knew exactly which video it was when I saw your comment 😂 I should go back to being more unhinged in my videos 😂
I would never paint anything I'd rather have it wrapped. That way I could have a new color but if I'm tired of it remove it and go back to enjoying the original color.
Funny, I was between this and the Ninja 650, as it turns out it's the same engine but tuned differently. Somehow I think this would be a lot better for where I live (Toronto) and city riding with jaunts up to the country on the weekend.
MOTOBLADE yep you read my mind, I'm considering going that route and not even owning a car. In Toronto car insurance/parking/gas is insanely expensive. Winter commuting in the snow here is very easy with public transportation (subway transit, etc) so I'd be ok. In the summer taking a ride up to Muskoka (national forrest) for an overnight with a small tent and minimal equipment is very doable with saddle bags as you mentioned. And honestly man, at $7,000 new you can't beat it, and that mileage OMG....
I’m way be hind on your video ,, but I love the area look trees on both side of you enjoy the ride ,,, I’m asking does this bike Make your hands go num do have any problems with wobble just asking ??? ,, & sorry about being be hind on the videos
I agree it is a great bike, I have the 2017 model all in mate black, it is awesome. The only thing I really hate about he bike is the crappy exhaust system which sounds as a big scooter. But I will do something about it very soon, I am thinking on buying a Delkevic or Two Brothers exhaust. Can you make a video on your camera and helmet setup?
Yup, gotta get a new exhaust. Check my channel, I have already made videos on my helmet setup for both the gopro and the knock-off SENA headset I have installed :)
I'm 5'8". Another 7" on top of that might be pushing it. Best thing I can tell you is to go take a test ride on one for yourself - then you'll know for sure!
I've had this bike (2015) for a couple weeks. What do you think about the mirrors? I can't see very well with them. I think I need to try the extended reach handlebars to change mirror position.
I could see okay-ish if I tucked my elbows in when I looked. My suggestion would be bar end mirrors, since we can screw things into the bar ends on the Vulcan S. Would give it a sportier look as well. Don't get cheap quality though, because I have seen them fall off. Invest in some good ones from a good brand. I would only change the handlebars if you need to change your riding position. Not just for the sake of the mirrors. That's my 2 cents. Ride safe!
How is the consumption in the 6 months my vulcan is new have 540km and have a arrow exaust original from Kawasaki but i think drinks a lot because just do 15km Lt and the tank just do 170km
The bike itself will do it just fine. You won't be able to feel your ass after about 45 minutes though! LOL, check out my review of my newest bike, the Indian Chief Dark Horse if you want a cruiser that is amazingly comfortable for long trips: th-cam.com/video/XHdRe30KhWs/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps!
i ended up with a Triumph t120. LOVE IT easy to go lots of torque, Amazing torque, clutch and throttle and can handle 120 easy. Just need that windscreen ha
@@MOTOBLADE I am not from US pal, but I do really like the fact that it costs 7500 for a new one. How much does it cost to maintain it a year? Including winter when you don't ride for some months.
@@Gigatless I have a garage, so it doesn't cost me anything in the winter. I say about $100 a year in maintenance (oil change, chain lube, etc.). I never took it to a shop, I did the labor myself, so I don't pay a mechanic. Fuel is also very cheap considering the mileage the bike gets. Very economical ride.
Hi, no doubt about this bike, based on your comprehensive review, i am considering of getting one very soon, but i need some reviews/comments on the back passenger rider, is it as comfortable as the rider? please give me some thoughts 'bout this, thank you.
tonichi Uy passenger seat looks to be comfortable, more than the rider. I left a more detailed reply comment on another video for you. Hope that helps :)
Color: Heh, not a huge fan of Kawasaki Green. But I bought a white KVS, and like you didn't really like it when I bought it, it was just a good deal at the time, but it really grew on me, exactly the same way, for the same reason: That metalic flake sparkles quite nicely.
Thanks man! I wasn't so sure about the vulcan S. I have always been riding a honda deauville and last week I finally went to kawasaki and made a test ride on the vulcan S... I don't like my honda anymore :( I can get the vulcan in a few months (because of well... money) but man I miss that bike!
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked the video and the bike. I agree with you, even though I ride a Chieftain Dark Horse now, there is something so pure about riding the Vulcan S. It was a great bike for me!
Just wondering if this bike is good for taller people? I'm 6'2" and looking for a good learner bike...could any tallish people out there chime in on their experience...cheers
Best advice I can give you is go test ride one at the dealership. The Vulcan s has an ergofit system that can be lengthened for taller riders. Ask your dealer to set you up on one for a test ride with the extended reach setup and see if you're comfortable! Hope that helps :)
If your bike has a fuel gauge then it's already better than 90% of Yamahas. Their top-end bikes don't even have a fuel gauge. Just a fuel light that comes on to tell you that you're too far away from a gas station so you might as well find a comfortable parking spot on the side of the road.
A CONFORTI You’re gonna love this bike. It’s surprisingly fast. Great value for the money. New old stock can be found for next to nothing. I just picked up a new 2017 Vulcan S ABS Cafe for $5,999. $7,200 out the door. I came off a 1200 sportster to this and it just blows the Harley away in every category. The only changes I’ve made are the exhaust and I added a Boosterplug for fuel management. There are several aftermarket full exhaust systems that are bolt on but they are expensive. I went a different and less expensive route. I bought a slip on and cut the stock muffler off and welded the adapter to the stock pipes. The Boosterplug was $159.00 and the exhaust came in at only $52.00. This vs a full system for $500-$700 and a power commander that’s around $350.
I just came across your channel! Great videos! Im right now in the mission of picking my very first bike. Im 5”1 so im looking for something low. Today i went to a local dealer and discovered the vulcan by look i felt in love immediately. But still im picking between the new rebel 500 abs or the vulcan s, any good feedback you can share to help me choose? Thank you
Vulcan S all the way. More power, better comfort, more accessories and aftermarket parts available, ergo fit system. That's just my opinion, but I hope it helps in some way. Thanks for watching!
I was close to getting a Yamaha or Suzuki, then I happened across the Vulcan. I absolutely love this bike, and will be taking one for a test ride soon. I have a question though, what is the longest you have ridden it for?
So the longest is about 3 hours. Couldn't feel my butt at all afterwards. I highly, highly recommend getting a Corbin aftermarket seat for it, you will be much more comfy for relatively little cash ($400 or so). Glad my review could help! Thanks for watching!
Question: after over 30 years of riding with my foot controls directly under me, would riding with FORWARD foot controls be something I'd get used to? How is the cornering with the Vulcan's forward control position? Do you feel totally in control of this bike? I want the bike, but the concern over the foot controls is holding me back. (I am 5'8'', 29" inseam and had to sell my Bonneville T100 because the ride position was painful on my hips.)
LIONS 67 I feel in absolute control of this bike at all times. It is very comfortable for me. I am 5' 7" with a 30" inseam, so pretty similar to you. I trained on a bike with controls flat under my feet, to me, the forward controls feel much more natural. My best advice is go test ride one! I highly recommend it and I think you would get used to it very quickly and find it very comfortable. But test riding is the only way to know for sure!
Thank you, MOTOBLADE! That is key info and a very good reference. I now feel better about the Vulcan S being attainable, but like you mention, the sure way is to ride one! Good to know you're comfortable on it, this helps!
It is the medium size. I haven't had any issues. It is very nice. I would say that I think I would get the large size if I was purchasing it. It came on the bike when I bought it, so I haven't felt like buying another one, but it's just a little short for me and I get hit with some turbulent wind right across the top of my helmet once I get above 45 mph then. I think the large would be perfect and take all of that away. I am 5 foot 7 for reference if that helps.
The review is informatively good, but the quality of the audio recording snap/clack/flip on the right ear every 5-15 seconds, which was too annoying to look further.
Make the dream come true! It's an awesome ride! I don't own it any more, but there's lots more videos on my channel with that bike if you want to dream :) Thanks for watching!

It amazes me how much some of the new bikes cost and don't have a tach. If I have to shift it I want a tach! Vulcan S is well thought out. Nice vid!

Glad to hear someone else enjoyed this bike so much! The Vulcan S is a great ride!
Haven't gotten it to 100 yet, but I plan to take a trip later this year with some wide open road. Might be able to push her then.
i had the pleasure of borrowing one of these bikes from a buddy of mine and i must say, the vulcan s is still one of my most favorite bikes to ride.
I have a Vulcan 650S as well. Hitting up The tail of the dragon this summer. I can’t wait!
I got mine a little after you then, but I love it as well. Just gotta get through this winter to ride again. Spring will come!
I been following for a while and today, I have bought one. She'll be delivered in 3 weeks, your videos were useful in making this decision and now I can't wait. I managed to pick up one in a matte black and it looks fucking gorgeous in matte black. I know you'll now be making me jealous with your new Indian. :P
Congratulations bro! So glad I could help with my videos! You're going to have a lot of fun on that new Vulcan S!
I've got the vulcan s cafe 2017, super ride! Really smooth! Installed a scorpion exhaust, sounds really nice! #safetyfirst Your videos had me convinced, and I'm still in love with the bike after a couple of months! Keep it up!
I was so sure ‘bout the z650 until I came across your video man! Now, change of plans!
Awesome vid man. Sparkles ha!
All the sparkles!
I like sport bike performance but cruiser style. This might be my next bike!
Good Video!
Honda Fury is a nice bike! Thanks for watching!
Honda Fury is a nice bike! Thanks for watching!
You sound so honest. I liked listening to you talking about the bike. Respect from India.
Thank you so much for watching!
Congrats on picking out a bike! It's a big decision. Glad you enjoy the Vulcan S. Ride safe!
I am really set on buying one in spring, as my first bike. I hope it's good for me, I'm around 6'2. This weekend I will go to a local shop to try one.
I'm looking to get back into riding. This one is on the top of my list.
Love my bike. I have the café' style. I put the two brothers full pipe on sounds great awesome power, BUT if you plan on using this pipe you had better love a very loud bike. Have fun and ride on.
Yeah, I really want a loud bike. I can always use some earplugs to protect myself, but everyone else needs to know I'm there! Ride safe!
Hello from France ^^ This bike will be my first bike ^^ this color is fabulous :D, great video and great review thank you very much :) you won a new sub ^^
martin jean Awesome! Thank you so much for watching and subscribing!
MOTOBLADE ok.thank you for ur respond.
I really want a Vulcan S!
It's a great bike!
@Robbie D I've the KRT Edition of the 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS, which is Kawasaki's "lime-green" and I think that it is stunningly beautiful!
Vincent Mifsud there’s a bright orange which is outstanding
Hi Blade, how much did you pay for it if you don’t mind me asking and did you have a trade in. I’ve been wanting a cruiser with fuel gauge and liquid cooling for my size as I’m not that tall. Great vid!
I paid $4,000 cash for it no trade in, as it was my first motorcycle. They wanted $5,000. I talked them down to 4, and made them deliver it to my house as I was too nervous to drive it home ah, the days of being a new rider, so long ago 😂). Hope that helps. It was a great bike. Thanks for watching!
Exhaust sound is not good, does changing to aftermarket exhaust damage the engine, or any negative effect of whatever?
Nope, no problems switching to an aftermarket exhaust, in fact I highly recommend doing so. However, I would suggest getting a power commander to re-tune the engine for maximum power with the new exhaust.
That delkevic long pipe I see on these sounds very good. Loud
Thanks my friend
@@severinojoseoliveira9089 You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
SPARKLES 😂I will say I really liked the Vulcan S as my first bike, but I am enjoying having a bigger bike now that I have been riding for a while.
Totally loved it man... keep up the good work....loved the bike too...
Motor City Machine Gun Thanks bro! I appreciate it :)
Sparkles! Lol. I once seen a hot pink Harley Davidson bike at a boat/RV show.
Vulcan S or the Rebel 500 as a commuter bike?
Vulcan S all the way. More power, more comfortable, better looking (in my opinion).
Very informative review. You kinda sold me on it
I have an FZ1 and am concerned about dropping off from 1000cc to 650cc but I am loving the look of the Vulcan S more and more.
Here are 2 other helpful videos from my channel that may be of use to you. th-cam.com/video/rTdYNQ3uy4M/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/YmkY6RMx9Zo/w-d-xo.html
Motoblade, okay my friend, I be likin' this! I like your reviews and commentary. Particularly appreciate your sharing the downsides and what you'd like to change. I'm thinking this is my frontrunner now; but, the Yamaha Bolt, Suzuki C50 are still nipping at it's heels. The Honda CTX700N was on my list, but is falling off. The Honda Aero recently got a recommendation. As a group, I'm thinking it's a "no-lose" situation. Thanks for all your insight
D L You are welcome! Glad I could help. If you ride the bolt let me know how you like it. I've been wanting to try it as well.
will do! by looks, the bolt is my fave; but, I'm trying to be responsible, and do silly things like consider build quality, performance, maintenance.... :-)
The Vulcan S is my next bike. I've had a 650 Vstar Classic and I currently own a 750 Honda Magna.
I love the tucked exhaust. Seems minor, but I have stocky legs, and always find myself entangled with side exhausts.
Do the pegs scrape hit the floor when your in the curves???
Nope. Not at all. That bike has an awesome lean angle.
Almost done 10,000 klms in first year and had its second service everything is in great condition no cost apart from the services yet im a happy owner also . m 0 .. 0 m
Nice review sir.. How about the throttle response in all rev range? Is it accurate and smooth?
1st gear is a little jumpy, 2nd gear on up is nice and smooth in my opinion.
does it have gear position indicator? what year is yours and what size? tnx
I love it when thing sparkle fabulously :D
@@Hengaanvaan it’s been years since I made this video, and I knew exactly which video it was when I saw your comment 😂 I should go back to being more unhinged in my videos 😂
I would never paint anything I'd rather have it wrapped. That way I could have a new color but if I'm tired of it remove it and go back to enjoying the original color.
Hey guys Vulcan S or Honda Rebel 500?
Funny, I was between this and the Ninja 650, as it turns out it's the same engine but tuned differently. Somehow I think this would be a lot better for where I live (Toronto) and city riding with jaunts up to the country on the weekend.
I liked both. Almost bought the Ninja 650, but there is more we can do with the Vulcan as far as accessories and storage options like saddlebags.
Heck yes! The mileage is insane :D I'm going to be living up north next year. Keep in touch, we might be able to meet up and ride sometime!
Hello from Toronto .
I’m way be hind on your video ,, but I love the area look trees on both side of you enjoy the ride ,,, I’m asking does this bike Make your hands go num do have any problems with wobble just asking ??? ,, & sorry about being be hind on the videos
I never had any issues with wobble or my hands going numb when I had this bike. Was a great bike! Thanks for watching!
Wow the audio really good, go-pro?
Yes, with the mic adapter and sony stereo microphone inside the helmet.
@@MOTOBLADE
Which model GoPro, please?
I have one and I agree very fun to ride I look for every excuse I can find to ride it.
It is an AWESOME bike isn't it 😎 Ride safe brother!
Make it so loud your neighbors will hate you and tell you so. Then it is loud enough.
Does it have a gear indicator?
Would you recommend this bike for someone who's 6'3?
Ride safe!
New rider here, does it have a neutral indicator?
It does have a neutral indicator, but no gear indicator (model year 2016 or later have both, mine was a 2015)
How is the consumption in the 6 months my vulcan is new have 540km and have a arrow exaust original from Kawasaki but i think drinks a lot because just do 15km Lt and the tank just do 170km
How does this bike hold up highway for 3 hours?
The bike itself will do it just fine. You won't be able to feel your ass after about 45 minutes though! LOL, check out my review of my newest bike, the Indian Chief Dark Horse if you want a cruiser that is amazingly comfortable for long trips: th-cam.com/video/XHdRe30KhWs/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps!
i ended up with a Triumph t120. LOVE IT easy to go lots of torque, Amazing torque, clutch and throttle and can handle 120 easy. Just need that windscreen ha
How's the engine refinement? What's the range on a tank full of gas?
Engine is great. I usually got 200+ miles to a tank of fuel
Vulcan S 2020 looks so damn good, I really wish I could own it one day.
I found mine used for $4500 at a local dealership. If you go for an older model year you can probably beat that price.
That colour is incredible.
I want one of these sooo bad. Btw love the area where you're riding. It's beautiful around Southern and I would love to ride around there on a bike!!
Can you slap one of those HUD projectors on the windshield? Does it keep some wind off your face?
It keeps some wind off. Not that great above 45 to 50 mph. HUD would be awesome with a police scanner 🤣
arrived, watched instant fan. ;)
So glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Glad you got to like the colour. It would have cost a lot to have it re-sprayed. We don't get the green in the UK.
That's a shame. Kawasaki should really make the colors available everywhere....
If your bike has a fuel gauge then it's already better than 90% of Yamahas. Their top-end bikes don't even have a fuel gauge. Just a fuel light that comes on to tell you that you're too far away from a gas station so you might as well find a comfortable parking spot on the side of the road.
I.m thinking about riding again after 10 years, would this be a good fit?
Yah you will love it
I believe it would be a very good fit. Maneuverable, lightweight, good power. You'll be comfortable riding again on this bike.
It does help! Thank you!🙂 I will let you know what I end up doing thank you so much
I love my Vulcan s I have the abs cafe model and I have the new exhaust I love the speed and cornering
I do miss mine. The cornering was amazing on that bike!
I’ve heard that changing the stock exhaust to aftermarket will void the warranty of the motorcycle? 😔
I was close to getting a Yamaha or Suzuki, then I happened across the Vulcan. I absolutely love this bike, and will be taking one for a test ride soon. I have a question though, what is the longest you have ridden it for?
And thank you so much for a review after using it for some time, this was just the extra information I needed.
So the longest is about 3 hours. Couldn't feel my butt at all afterwards. I highly, highly recommend getting a Corbin aftermarket seat for it, you will be much more comfy for relatively little cash ($400 or so). Glad my review could help! Thanks for watching!
i have done about 700km trip and had to pull over at times to rub my but :)
i will be chasing a better seat / Corbin maybe when i can afford it.
you had me at the sparkles...faboo!
D L Hahaha! Thanks! :)
Good to know you're comfortable on it, this helps!
what windshield have you installed? How do you like it?
nvm, i asked too quickly, you covered it in the video. Thanks!
cpage07 It's all good :) I did enjoy it. It was quick detach which was nice as well.
Your windshield, is that a medium or a large? Any issues with it?
It is the medium size. I haven't had any issues. It is very nice. I would say that I think I would get the large size if I was purchasing it. It came on the bike when I bought it, so I haven't felt like buying another one, but it's just a little short for me and I get hit with some turbulent wind right across the top of my helmet once I get above 45 mph then. I think the large would be perfect and take all of that away. I am 5 foot 7 for reference if that helps.
Thanks for the quick reply. Very useful information.
No problem bro! I'm glad to help out fellow bikers. Thanks for watching! If you wouldn't mind subscribing that would be awesome :D
Sir how about acceleration? Top speed?
Acceleration is great. I never got it to top speed, but I know it goes well over 140mph (may have to remove limiter).
Do you think I’ll fit on this bike at 6’2 250lbs
I weighed 230 on it, but I'm 5 foot 7. You may want the extended reach seat and you will be more comfortable.
The review is informatively good, but the quality of the audio recording snap/clack/flip
on the right ear every 5-15 seconds, which was too annoying to look further.
you ride even during winter sir?
These roads your on are amazing.
Uthu Santuhan Thanks! I hate riding on the highway. So I try to choose nicer routes with good curves to get where I'm going.
tubeless tires?
