I like the box art but the tires/wheels in the kit don't look anything like on the box, so I decided to find some schwimmwagen off-road tires and wheels and try those out.

Thanks Greg. Yeah I didn't either until I had been doing some research on schwimmwagens and kubelwagens, then I stumbled upon this kit from CMK. I also have one from this same company that has the "wood gas" conversion.

Thanks. The type 87 was supposed to be for high officers of the army and only a little over 550 of them produced.

Thanks Rick. There's some cool history about the VW Beetle in WW2 with the German military and it's relation to the kubelwagen and schwimmwagen.
