I would have stuck to sites with free shipping, so just looking at amazon: movie captain america and peggy carter $21 , Thor the dark world two pack thor and sif $30, grey suit black widow $30, Walgreens Silver centurion iron man $30, captain marvel jacket version $15. Hasbro pulse retro Wasp $20 and retro Ant man $20, Deluxe war machine $30. For $196. I got Ten legends. That was kind of fun to check in on. I found some deals, and it provides some perspective on what new fans coming into the hobby are facing.
I've never seen that black widow in person. The secondary market prices for it were crazy last year. So It surprised me to find that version relatively affordable. Love the poses you can do with her jetpack. Opens up display options. I guess I'm so used to the bafs essentially forceing us to collect marvel cinematic and comic together anyway. I allowed a new budget avengers collection to also go that route.
I recently started my X men collection and I got Retro Storm ($25), Retro Gambit ($25), Retro Rogue ($25) cyclops from the tri sentinel wave ($25), Professor X ($35), X force Wolverine ($20), and AoA Ice Man ($23). I had beast already and I got him for $20 two years ago. The total was $208.
I’d love to see more videos like this for building different teams at varying budgets. Maybe have a main team but throw in different versions to mix and match like keep the big three then use different avengers members to show options of who could be used and obtained at a reasonable price.
I was exclusively a Black Series collector until I started watching your Legends videos, I now nearly have both teams from the Airport fight in Civil War. It's a really good line though and I'm happy I got into it.
When I built my Avengers, I started before the MCU was even out, but added some upgraded when I could afford them. You can go a few ways with this, and if I touch on anything you said, I do apologize as the video didnt have sound. I do see what you were doing. I wanted a comic book version of my Avengers and may work on an MCU version later. We had a few of the same figs, the Cap and Widow figs. My original Avengers didnt include Spidey or , for obvious reasons. The Toy Biz Vision, Hawkeye, Thor and Panther are still in my Avengers set. Then we go hap hazard, and I am going to take a little heat for a couple. Iron Man, as of this time, is from the Toy Biz Face Off series, as is Hulk. Scarlet Witch is the current Legends figure, as is Beast and Wonderman. Toy Biz Ms Marvel and Falcon are also there. I really wanted the BAF Giant Man, but its not happening in my lifetime. But, for Ant Man and the Wasp, here comes my heat, I used Heroclix figs. They are size appropriate, and in great poses. They really work. I want to upgrade Wonder Man and hopefully we get a re-release of Tigra. I had to pull She Hulk and Spectrum from the A Force set. My Hercules is from the Mattel wave, as is Black Knight and Quicksilver. I want BK and Qucky upgraded to the new figs. Just addes Jocasta, too. I admit, I did like your picks, but I dont want to mix comic and MCU versions. Trust me, I know all about trying to budget for figures. Most of mine are older. I get lucky with yard sales and flea markets, sometimes. Or businesses going out of sale. Also, look for used figure lots on Ebay. Sometimes, you can find a good handful of great figures at really good prices. Thats how I did my Justice League.

Should just get the core movie team. Out of the ones you list, get Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Black Widow and Hulk for $164 and that leaves you $36 for a complete Hawkeye. Antman, Wasp, and Black Panther came later, so get them later and Vision is no good without Scarlet Witch, so pick them up together lastly. Great video concept. Would like to see more like this.
Love this idea, would love to see them all together to see how it looks. If it were me I’d get Hulk & Wolverine, I have seen them at $55-$60 total. I would love the same idea with villains. It makes me think how much I could save if I sold my MCU collection and went comic book only.
If you were happy to have some old Toy Biz figures in there, buy loose and incomplete figures, experiment with some Chinese KOs and wait for the right auctions, you could do this easily. I have never paid more than £20 (about $25) for a Legend, which has helped me build a bigger and more varied collection. Sure, you end up with some slightly janky Toy Biz era figures that don't look as good as the modern equivalents but if you push those to the back you can still have a good looking display.
MCU on a budget. Try and get just one character from each movie in the Infinity Sage. Could be a 3 part video to cover each phase. Doesn’t need to be figures from a specific wave, so for example you could get the Infinty War War Machine to cover the character in Iron Man 2
Also like to star wars black series, you could do a whole series. My pick would budget main cast, jedi team, imperial troop(w/emperor, vader,officer and troops), and Jabba's place

Don't know about Big Nerdy, but it's taken me 28 years to get a Team of 74 different Avengers! Now, there are some Customs and Fudged in there, 4 different Hank Pym, 2 different Scott Lang, and 2 different Carol Danvers. I also have 56 different X-Men divided into 4 Teams, counting a couple of Kitbashed and Angel and Archangel as 2 different people.

Last year me and my brother got my uncle the Avengers for his Birthday. He already had a cap and the 80th anniversary Iron Man and Thor. We got the vintage wave 2 and the vintage Black Widow for $10 each. And we also got him the 80th anniversary Hulk and wolverine. The total was around $160. Also, I got that Iron Man mark 7 on clearance for $5 in 2018

Just made an Agent Melinda May of SHIELD and 3 of a planned 4, Shang Chi's Sister! As a kid I used to collect around 2011-2016 maybe 2017 and I never really liked cap Thor or any of the X men either but I remember I had that cap with the wolf head and man looking at it now that’s a great comic cap. Marvel legends are too expensive for me, I just get Legos. They are obviously not as impressive as marvel legends but you can still get a pretty cool looking avengers line up for a lot cheaper (obviously you are still paying for the builds however)

Marvel legends are too expensive for me, I just get Legos. They are obviously not as impressive as marvel legends but you can still get a pretty cool looking avengers line up for a lot cheaper (obviously you are still paying for the builds however)
