Thanks for mentioning Mitch and Kirsten. It always occurs to me about week 3 or 4 in the Sing-Off how few times the judges addressed her performance specifically - Avi and Kevin got justifiably praised every week, Mitch was given kudos at times and of course they loved Scott. The couple of times she was mentioned by Sara (neither of the male judges ever even mentioned her), it was in combination with someone else almost as an afterthought, such as “…and, Mitch and Kirsten were great on back-up”, etc. I’m always really sad for her up until the Brittany Spears performance and I’m grateful to you for addressing her performance.
I am so glad that you mention the Mitch and Kirstin part, because in this song the stars are Avi and Kevin, and Scott powerful voice, but the background voice in Pentatonix are so important, the ones that are doing the harmonies, or the instrumentation, and in this song are helping Scott so much.
This one is so good. They are so intense. Pretty sure in recent years when asked what their favorite sing off performance was, Scott say this one. So good. Scotts intense rasp (mamma mia!), Avi and Kevin just growling in the deep, Mitch & Kirstie belting for their life.

One of the things I love about Pentatonix is that they take turns in the lead and support each other. I think that is one of the reasons that they are still together as a group.

YES! I love re-watching the PTX season of the 3rd Sing Off! When I originally watched it I was like, Video Killed the Radio Star is my Favorite! After this performance I was astonished, then this was my new favorite!!! It gets better and better! Not all have been increasingly favorites but they do continue to improve throughout the season. So glad you are watching these Carmen. Thank you!!! I still get excited when I see others reactions to these! xo

Carmen, I really enjoy your reactions...especially for Pentatonix. However, there is another performer that you've seemed to have missed, whom I believe is the best female vocalist on the Planet !! Check out Haley Reinhart for some of her PostModern Jukebox (PMJ) videos..."Creep" (truly incredible), plus "Seven Nation Army", "Don't Speak" and "All About The Bass", along with her own videos (particularly, "Don't Know How To Love You". !! She has a long playlist for you to discover !!
Whichever timing works with your schedule will be okay. This one was the first one I really liked of their Sing Off performances. There are a few more that are outstanding of theirs in the competition. Avi had been in Acapella competitions before and won with both of his college groups Fermata Nowhere and Singcopation and spent time with the other contestants on the show here demonstrating overtone singing. th-cam.com/video/XUMUEoK-AaY/w-d-xo.html It also helped with the audience. Avi as the Californian of the group had a lot of people come to the shows from his college and his sister actually served as their required chaperone whenever they left the studio and hotel during the weeks of the competition.
You may be interested to know that PTX did a studio version of this song th-cam.com/video/iV9NM_xD3O0/w-d-xo.html. Although it's much more polished, it lacks the raw intensity of the live performance but you can more clearly hear Mitch and Kirsty's parts.
You can see Kirstin shaking at the end, looking like she's on the verge of tears. They really put EVERYTHING into this performance.
