Hahaha, yes, the winter coat! :) My wife and I went last winter, and it was pretty cold in Norway. The coat wouldn’t fit in our already overpacked suitcase, so we had to carry it to the taxi in Samui. The taxi driver had a great laugh. We even got drenched by sweat just by carrying it! 😂😎

Each seller of SIM cards is a franchise and sometimes if you need to resolve an issue you're required to go back to the place where you purchased it and in Phuket I made the mistake of purchasing my SIM card before leaving immigration so I could not return and I was refused service from the same company but from a different seller and told to return to where I purchased it and of course that's impossible so do not purchase a SIM card before you leave immigration.
I don't agree with bringing much cash if you can help it. It's better to withdraw cash from the atm in Thailand,and make sure to not choose the conversion fee option.I would imagine the exchange rate won't be as good if you are bringing foreign currency versus withdrawing from an atm if you have a mastercard or visa.
Interesting I never use a local sim card hv a deal with vodaphone $5 for each 24 hours, if you turn the phone on. Text, calls, emails etc. But when you get home yes the bill comes in.😊😢
