On cruise it's hard to notice for obvious reasons, but the closer you are to the ground, the larger the gap becomes between 2020 and 24, better atmosphere and fog, better ground meshes, 3d trees with more variety, and adjust to the season so they fit accordingly, terrain meshes that remove the flatness 2020 tends to have on relatively tree free areas, clouds being notably less grainy, etc. If it wasn't because of stability issues, most people wouldn't be even considering 2020 the one that looks better, but understandably, the launch and even current state of the sim soured the experience and perception of a lot of people.
Both sims are amazing. For me, personally, 2024 has improved clouds and lighting so much that its impressive enough not to go back to 2020. Ive deleted 2020 back in early December. We will continue to see improvements and growth. Amazing time to be into flight sim
Yeah you are right. The optimalisation in 2024 is shit and the whole "planes in cloud" idea is stupid. I'm sticking with 2020 because as you are saying its working well while 2024 is buggy
2024 is much better, trust me. You’ll know the difference when you’re in the sim and you won’t want to go back. I just recommend waiting till it’s more stable, maybe after SU1
@kianallison 2024 stock has better visuals, for sure, but for someone with suboptimal internet speed and who likes to have more control over the sim, 2020 (with add-ons) is the way to go.
Hi! A question, where did this bit of flying take place in the world? Would be really handy for me to go and fly there in the sim and fiddle around with rex atmos settings.
The 2024 version has a color problem with this red dominant! It does not seem natural at all. Moreover when we compare with reality, there is much more green with the meadows than in MSFS. Still work to be done....
Sims are matched to the real world footage, it just depends on when the photogrammetry and satellite data was taken. In 2024 some ground textures change with the season
Good comparison, as usual. But I will keep insisting on showing both sims with add-ons, like people actually play them in the real world for a better, more fair comparison.
2024 on average has more atmospherics than 2020 which had pretty much none but still doesnt come close to the amount of dust in the real world atmosphere at times

Also that the entire game is streamed doesn't help at all. It looked like shit to me tbh
@@mental720s I don’t think they’ve implemented it yet but there will be a fully downloadable version coming soon
Real life looks the most like real life in my opinion

Not gonna lie, I feel no need to "upgrade" to 2024 right now. 2020 works really well, way less glitches than 2024, and it looks pretty much the same.

@ it really isn't. I'm on Xbox and 2020 is far superior right now. Btw I have a wired gigabit internet fiber connection. 2024 looks like Roblox.
@@kianallison I don't believe you :o) because I bought Sim2024 and was happy to go back to Sim2020. Fortunately, I was refunded via STEAM.
Your videos are sooo nice! Thank you!

Rome Fiumicino 16L
I've some addons who render MSFS2020 close to the real thing.
@psour33 Do you mind sharing which ones?
@@generico896 I use REX products for spray, colors, shadows, and Active Sky for weather.
man the DLSS on RL is insane!!

Just depends on the satellite data, not really anything to do with the game
Honestly I think the one on the right looks the best
I was surprised that 2020 was closer to reality
2024 after SU1 is an absolute winner
So, what am I missing here? Why does everything look like its winter season in the game? and in real life it looks summer?

Danggggg, MSFS24 looks good!!
The winner is 2020
Agreed.
Both are really good
Nope. It isn't.
How is it possible to watch this view while flying? Brüder MSFS has no record functioning 🤔
In built flight recorder (FCR) for 2024, separate app for 2020
@ thank you
At least give msfs 2020 a chance by using the inbuilds a320 neo
Default game is what I chose
for some reason, the REAL version looks a bit blurred, compared to the others...
Bad GPU irl probably
@@daviddanser8011 🤣
Blame iPhone, had to use the wide angle camera to be able to get the wing and engine!
If you try update SU1 of 2024. It's much better than 2020
It isn’t! It’s a buggy mess. The terrain is buggy and did you notice that airport texture bug bleeding through terrain?
Yea, I went back just to see and was surprised at the difference. Working on the missions now. 💪
2024 - very bad sim. Without optimisation and with great bugs 😢
MSFS 2024 has been such a big disappointment I just went back to 2020 as the visuals are so much better for the time being.
I think the visuals are better when it works as intended
@TropicalTech2 depends on the area as I know in some areas it's an exact same copy of 2020.
No fault of the game if it’s just photogrammetry, but I’d say in non-photogrammetry areas the variation in tree types makes a big difference
@TropicalTech2 96GB of RAM is your friend with this sim
VRAM too
msfs 2020 looks better
Needs more realistic graphics flight simulator 2024 i hope so next flight simulator 2028
