All her scarring back there really looks like mountain lion attack attempts. It's amazing she is brave and didn’t seem to let whatever caused the scars change her braveness and kindness. Great choice. Love her curiosity; she's a smart one
Well, could be that she successfully fought the mountain lion off. Maybe that's why she isn't that traumatized and has gotten even stronger because of it. She might be a warrior..
She is a beautiful roan mustang, I have a Morgan/mustang, she is the sweetest, since I've been watching your videos, thanks for all of your help, Jake with pear tree also helps me too. BTW I love the name maverik ❤🐎
If it was a predator attack, I wonder if it happened when she was a baby. It seems like a rip that long would be about 18 inches on a baby but on an adult horse it’s over 2 feet long, and also very high off the ground. Just a theory.
It seems you picked a winner--she's got beauty and brains, good confirmation, and nice way of moving. Courageous and curious, too. That scar could have been from a mountain lion attack, but who knows. It's more distinctive than any brand you could. put on her. You're lucky to have her and she's lucky to be with you.
Very lucky mare indeed. I especially like the way she looks into the camera when you're talking to us... This shows she is intelligent and I think she is quite sweet. ❤ I like watching your videos because I am an "armchair horsewoman" so to speak! 😁👍🏻
@WendyBeall It’s much more likely that she got that injury from another horse or even when she was captured. There are very rarely predators like mountain lions for the wild horses, which is why they have to be rounded up because they over populate.

Congrats Ryan. What a fun project. She's really nicely built with nice movement too. I love a horse with a leg well set on each corner. Maybe a dressage or a Versatility Ranch horse. Have fun my friend and I'm excited to watch and learn as you go through the process.
What a magnificent horse! So smart and brave!
Oh my gosh, Ryan I LOVE this! She is Beautiful!! And man would I LOVE that arena! I think that head bobbing towards is pushing you too….I had a horse that used to do that. I love watching horses to see how they communicate. Cool beans. Thanks for this video!
Gorgeous horse.
So glad you are doing this and will take us along your journey with her.
Do you know her age and where she was taken from?
I'm not too far into this video yet but man this is such a beautiful mare and I can already see that she's got a pretty brain too. Can't wait to see where you go with this one 😍
I LOVE her personality! She is SO smart! And gorgeous!
i love the level of patience you have with her. i'm surprised she's focusing on you this well so soon. she really seems like she wants to please and she definitely has taken a liking to you. i can't wait to see how she progresses through the training. do you have a name for her yet?
I enjoy ❤ your channel. I just love animals. You and your team produce such good content and the educational material you provide to all along with your demeanor while coaching is outstanding. Channeling the Rose method for everyday life!
I think because you talk so much for your teaching video actually is good for her. The sound of your voice can be a calming and bonding experience for her.
totally agree
She so beautiful. Looks like a chocolate brownie with icing sugar. She seems like a real sweetheart too.
She seems to have a great personality, confident and calm. Nice conformation, too. Looks like a great choice, Ryan.
Beautiful mare, love her calm curiosity. Look forward to seeing you develop her trust and bring out all her strengths. Really nice mover.
Thx for sharing. (Flies: Fly parasites really work, and the Catchmaster Giant Trap (rolls of sticky paper) are very effective for flies that hatch out.
I’ve used parasites for 25+ yrs…but follow instructions for success.
You definitely picked a great horse. I can’t believe how calm this Mustang is.
Amazing patience and work.
Wonderful Ryan! Best of luck with her!
when i first opened this video i was expecting something bad to happen while you were in there with her because of many videos i see like this the person who is doing the exact same thing, and they will be hitting the horse or something like that and i love that what i was expecting to happen went away instantly and i love that !!! you did an amazing job on this and i would love to see more!!
The dedication is amazing
@ryan rose try putting up some of those hanging screens that they put on garages and doors to keep the Flys out of your camping space. I love this and she's beautiful.
