- In this video I live with my mustang while she's being tamed. I want to be able to halter her and lead her her out of the pen. She needs to trust me and learn to follow a feel in order todo this.

I joined again about an hour ago. This is the only one I can open up.
She really never stops thinking. Even when she’s startled, she resets to trying to think her way out of the situation rather than freaking out.
She’s a good puzzle solver. She’s getting curious about you. It’s like she’s accepting her fate as she leaves the wild horse world and trying to figure out all this new foreign “stuff.” I think she’s a pretty smart girl. A keeper!!!
Please keep us in her journey. Not all of us have horses. But we can live through you training her. Thank you for loving her.
Gee, her demeanor is quiet soft and you are being as gentle as possible. I see wonderful things ahead
Anytime a cool and collected redhead has you running after them, I'm pretty sure their name is rightfully Jolene.
I know your a professional but thankyou for treating her with kindness and respect. her scars show she's been through alot and has survived so she is a fighter. I look forward to watching her journey and wish nothing but good things for her.prehaps a carrot 🥕 for being a good girl.she has probably never had one before.
No “buts” about it, that’s how Ryan treats ALL horses - that IS his method. He is that kind and respectful toward owners too. You’ll see as you watch more of his videos.
What scars?
@@pippylongstockings8600 The dark lines and splotches on her back and rump.
@@pippylongstockings8600 At her back end, pretty large, probably, as the community figured out, by a mountain lion or some other large cat/predator.
She is starting to trust you more. She understands more and more you are trying not to be a danger to her. Well done.
She is going to be a fantastic horse! She has never seemed scared, cautious and wary, but not scared. she will let you do what you want to do but on her terms, once you have gained a little trust! Can't wait until the competition. I think she would be a good trick horse.
This was what struck me about her in the last (first) video. A lot of horses off the range are really terrified, and a hazard to themselves and others. This lovely lady is surprisingly calm. She’s a great horse, once she’s decided you’re trustworthy she’ll be amazing.
I love how gentle and loving and patient you are with her💖🌟
"I might as well try a bite. I haven't done that before. Okay, never mind." She's so beautiful. I love her beauty, and she has intelligence too. A great combination. You chose wisely:)
She has such a "soft, kind eye" and a "good mind." you chose a winner!
I think her name should be Liberty 🥳 you mentioned that she experiences liberty when she gives into the pressure. Her trust in you brings her freedom.
I’m learning so much watching you, thanks for including us in this special journey.
You've made a significant amount of progress with her. She's certainly a well built gorgeous horse.
My red flag is thinking I can do what you do - when I've never owned a horse before 😂❤
I just subscribed to your channel I've seen some of your videos but this one is particularly good. That is a beautiful horse and you're a really good person. She either got caught in a barbed wire fence or a mountain lion scratched her back or maybe even a bear I'm kind of surprised with that kind of a scar that she's even still alive. You are very fortunate that you got that horse it's a beautiful horse.
Hey Ryan! I've been following you for about 2-3? years now and always learn sooo much. I love your kind methods and am so impressed that you (unlike so many) haven't let your fame go to your head. You remain so humble and always honest and for this I have so much respect for you. I would love to be able to join your Patreon page but due to living in Australia and like so many places around the world our cost of living is shocking.. hence the conversion of our Aussie dollar to your American dollar is quite outrageous. I am so very grateful for the free content you share with us but do feel like I'm missing alot of the process due to not being able to afford joining your Patreon page. By no means do I wish to be rude or out of line in asking this but would it be at all possible to show us a little more of this process please? We have many brumbies (and owners/trainers) in Australia who would greatly benefit from your methods. If you're unable to do this I do understand but thought I'd be brave and ask 🙏.
Thankyou as always for your amazingly kind and informative videos.. 🐴💖✨️
This is exactly what I wish I could do! Living the dream, I tell you! ❤️
I've always loved horses but never owned one. Too old for one now but Ryan I love watching your videos. You are so insightful. Just love the physiology behind everything you do. I subscribed and can't wait to see how she comes along. So glad you picked her. She's very lucky to have you training her.
Ditto!
I feel the same way as you.
There used to be a small independent soda pop company across the road from my house for the first 7 years my life. One of the ladies who worked there was the mother of a friend of my much older sister, and used to keep vanilla ice cream in the freezer and make me floats when I went over to see her. Your girl's coat reminds of the way the foam bubbled up when the root bear was added over the ice cream. Light on top, with the dark root beer below. We had a soda fountain in our business as well, that had Shasta soda in it, so when I was learning to talk, all sodas were Shasta to me. If I was naming your girl here, that is what I would name her... Shasta.
I second this name. She looks like a Shasta. 😊
Beautiful mare. Incredible work! ❤❤❤
She is so pretty and a tough girl. Astrid would be my name pick for her.
Love Astrid ("divinely beautiful") or Rose.
She is not only beautiful but smart aswell
What a beautiful horse. Her coat reminds me of paint worn off of metal. ❤ Exciting to watch the journey!
I am in LOVE with your GIRL ! So Glad Things Are Going So Well - - So Even - - Your Patience and Gentle Focus is What She Needs and Likes - - Good On YOU BOTH !
Ryan I’ve only been watching you for a few months but I love your gentle ways. You’re a lot like the clever cowgirl. Both do excellent jobs with horses in a gentle manner. I can’t wait for your next video.
Also kudos to your editor for having fun with this one. Love the music, notes and spongebob break 😂
She was snorting last night cuz she was trying to desensitize you....😂
Ha ha@
What a gorgeous mare! Love her high straight back!
The fact that she is left brained probably saved her from the cougar. She thought rather than just blindly panicked.
She's a doll. Even when she went to "bite" you, it was more of a plea.
New series idea Ryan travels the world for 2 months living with horses until u tame them 🤣
well...congratulations....out of all the video's I have watched this is the first that I started tearing up (in a good way) 🤗......it was when she let you pet her. For me, this lesson was all about her trusting a human. She such a curious girl and I love her "ok, I'll try (s)". I'll just throw a name out....Reign. Looking forward to watching her progress on your upcoming videos. 💗🐴 Meanwhile, get some good zzz's, Ryan 😴
She looks relaxed
I love the "nose, neck, and maybe the feet"! (in the past, watched Parelli faithfully but no more horses in my life). I sure enjoy watching you work with horses. Excellent work!
So great to see her curiosity and watch her asking questions. I love it when she started coming off the adrenalin and yawning. You've made great progress with her! The crickets in the background are a great sound effect. 😊
She seems to actually like the sound of your voice and calms when you're talking.
She is a beauty. Kindness goes a long way.
Big fan of the channel I’m 22 and started my first one a year ago and watching the channel helped me and my sweet girl get to where we are now thank you much love to you and the channel
Eeverytime I watch, I see the progress and bonding - it makes me so excited to see what will happen with you two as you progress. I am guessing she is not going to disappoint! Nor you! Good work, Ryan!
I’m living vicariously through you! So exciting! I find myself holding my breath. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us all ,,wish I could join your patron page but not possible at this time 😢 so will just hope you keep posting her progress on here ❤
My thoughts and hope too.
This is so exciting!! She is beautiful too
I loved watching this in part because of how beautiful she is. I love the powdered sugar look with a black mane. And good job, Ryan. I admire your patience and slow systematic approach.
She is a pretty horse.❤❤. Good luck, Ryan. She follows you at every turn.🎉. Thank you so much for this amazing video🎉🎉🎉.
Thank you for another wonderful video!!! ❤😊
She's got a good mind, she'll do fine
tis cool you taking this approach to her training. I think you are very appreciative of how animals are in their particular moment, which is a great skill for trainting any animal ! You are quite right about this particular day of training! I like your approach!
I like how she is reading your intentions and not reacting just to the flag. ❤WOW she is just such a wonderful girl!!
THANK YOU Ryan for sharing the 1st two days on You Tube. Really appreciate it. ❤
The first time that beautiful girl has felt human love...magical.
Stunning video and amazing work. It's just so interesting watching her learn things for the first time. You'll have the perfect name, but I vote for Selene, the Greek Goddess of the Moon.
Thank you for sharing this journey with us YT followers. Enjoying it❣️From what I see a lot of it is building her trust in you that you're not going to hurt her. She is absolutely gorgeous! Do you think she'll stay this color?
I would love to have your patron channel, maybe next month. I'm really enjoying you and the mustang.
Name suggestions
#1-Dusty Rose #2-Frosted Rosa
She is going to be a great horse. And will live you too.
That part when he was finally able to touch her: I didn't cry at all, nope, not a sniffle ;)
She is beautiful and smart.
so awesome, great progress, love it!
She’s a good one
she is gorgeous. very curious about you as you were walking up to her. i wonder how she got the scar? it looks deep. maybe a predator? she is lucky to have you for her introduction to domestic horse life xoxoxox godspeed!
barbed wire?
@@danw6887 could be !
She's really active with her ears, especially noticeable at the fast motion segments. And it seems her pinning them back is lessening.
She's a beauty! I know that you'll be able to make a good horse out of her!
The cliff hanger! 🫣
I always love getting some bloopers and humor at the end.
While she did attempt to bite, she seemed so slow at it, almost like her warning you. She definitely seems to have a great demeanor.
that was a confident move on her part. LOL don't get close to me, but I can reach out to bite you. Ryan you got thinker on your hands. LOL. good work, be safe. I look forward to seeing you both again.
Great stuff. Shes so curious and seems to enjoy the experience.
Love the blooper . Was wondering what that was hanging down. ?
@ryanrosehorsemanship
Scarlett would be a fitting name .
You ought to call her Winter! She looks snow-dusted...
I can't believe you're handling a rope without gloves! Other than that, I love your patience with her.
She's going to feel so much better after her teeth are floated!
Looking good
Is this a horse you'll be keeping? How do these things work, with the mustang auction and whatnot. Fascinating!❤
Her right hind leg move a bit different hope not it related to The scar 😊
Yes! I notice that! If you watch the Friesian Horses channel, you see the KWPN who has wobblers. The minute I saw this one trotting, I was reminded of him. It's not nearly as pronounced, of course, but something looks "off." Lucky for her, Ryan's wife can help!
Are you going to still post videos to TH-cam of your mustang?
I want to know that answer as well, i was a patreon member, I have a horse I would like to ride, and was using your techniques but, with the change in living prices, its hard here in New Zealand, I go without just to have my horse, but he's helped me in ways he would never know, but I need to get my respect back, and stop him from being in my space etc. If I win lotto I'd pay for you to come to New Zealand to help me, helps if I could pay for the ticket!!! Lol but I can only watch you tube now sadly 😢
Beautiful mare. Love your videos Ryan. Jazmine or Maddox are my name suggestions. ❤.
She's a fortunate girl to wind up with you!❤❤❤name suggestion...Scarlet because of her scar .
great name idea!!!
Scarlet were those that were pushed away
Rose a name of love
Scarlet is a great name.
I’d call her Scar straight up ~ she survived 😉
The way she rubs her front legs with her nose probably has bot eggs they must itch .anyway good work Ryan .
Love this video... I was taught about a horse switching eyes with their handler (in turn switching their brain, in a way)... is this the struggle with her I'm seeing in the beginning? She was very comfortable looking at you from her left eye but wasn't ready to switch to the right eye
Maybe you were snoring and thought you were snorting....😂
I wanted the bay 😢
G’day Ryan & patient beautiful wife team supporters suppliers & Co ;-) Congratulations exceptional job syncing vibrational frequency with her, she is magnificent intelligent beautiful, & may probably be on of your go to favourites of the future! Looking forward to watching your progress together!
OMGOSH what is her name????
Sasha
Estelle

She is a beautiful Mustang Ryan. Dosen't your wife also have a Red Roan horse? 😊
She appears to have appaloosa with a bay underneath. Such a pretty head, and I like her body proportions. Was she stitched up by a vet?
She's a roan with corn spots it looks like :) aka scars/old wounds. It's normal for roans 😊
This is such great instruction, I !earn so much watching you work with your young mustang. I don't know where she is from, but if there were juniper trees on that range, I wonder if she ran through one. Sharp and pointy. Onward, hope you get back to sleeping in your bed!
Hi, Ryan! This was much better than any modern movie. Anyway, I am totally blind and I was wondering, what does it mean in horsey language with all that grinding her teeth she’s doing when you were close to her? I know that licking and chewing is submission, but what is the teeth grinding? I have heard horses do this before, but they were mouthing their bit. She obviously doesn’t have one of those. Why is she doing that? I know it may seem like a dumb question but I’m just curious.
shouldn't you be verbally praising her when she does what you want; like "good girl" when you touch her. I know you trainers all have different methods but my experience with dogs lends itself to verbal praise for results attained. Just my thoughts. Doing a great job on her. she's come a long way.
Honestly horses and even nervous/feral dogs typically do much better without verbal stuff. They're way more interested in body language and pressure release.
Later on a verbal marker is added once they have some confidence and trust and that serves marker for "yes that exact thing you did is correct and the release is coming". However at this stage verbal praise would mean nothing bc she has to learn the release before she can learn that a marker means a release is coming :)
Basically horses aren't humans and don't think the same :😊
Dogs and horses are quite different psychologically and are not trained the same! Predator vs. flight animal.
shes a looker
Might she have been snoring at her reflection in the mirror at night?
that was not a bite she was just moving her lips because of the rope.
What's with all those markings on her skin,I mean she has a beautiful and unique color but just wonder
She's a roan and when roans scar/ have an injury the scar comes in dark basically. Sometimes called corn spots.
Could it be that she may have been struck by lightning which caused her scars?
Probably a predator got her in her younger years ❤
Do I hear her grinding her teeth toward the end of the video?
Such a good mind. I'm wondering if she had a bad nights sleep with someone in the barn with her?
This is a bit corny but how about Sally for a name? Mustang Sally.
Is she grinding her teeth?
I like watching you do your thing but that music is really annoying and totally unnecessary. Personally, I’d rather hear your voice over or nothing
Why don't you try getting her to come to you coax her with get her to trust you
He is showing her that she can trust him. By showing her how to release pressure and understand her world basically
1:05 shit, I was trying the same thing other night (sleeping out by round pen next to horse needing to be broke) in a hammock, a raccoon literally took my pillow out from under me. No one would believe it if I didn’t snap a picture
Ryan, we'd like to use some of your training videos in our show called Better Horses that airs on RFD tv on Mondays at 2pm. Let me know if you might be interested in talking about it. I can send you a number through private message. Many thanks sir!
