Very interesting. I had similar encounters with my Nissan Juke as it wasn't showing up any of CEL and I was surprised that I asked one of mechanics to scan codes and they showed up without the CEL. And yes, it takes few cycles to re-run them over a length of time or journey. So I bought myself a small OBD scanner and kept it handy with me.
I had a generic code reader but it said I had no codes on the car but when I got a code reader for infiniti vehicles. I had so many codes I didn’t even know about!
Bro I'm going the same thing, I put cams, crank, maf, battery, oil change. Still runs rough in 1st and 2nd gear. Ima try to scan again, but I don't have cel
I have a 2013 Ford Taurus. My check engine light came on and stay on, so I have an appointment to the garage before this happened so I called my mechanic to find out if I could continue driving my car for the next 4 days until the appointment he said yes as long as it is on solid no blinking and I said yes it stays on solid, my brother inlaw came over to put on my new wipers and I was telling him about the check engine light. He said he had a diagnostic gadget but he lost it. He told me of a friend that has one, so he comes back with it, and it reads that my car has a vapor leak. This one is different then the one he had so he was having problems removing the codes off from it, and he tried removing the codes for over an hour so he ended up deleting the codes, now my check engine light does'nt come on. Will my mechanic be able to do a diagnostic on it?
Hi A friend of mine said he was told his turbo wastegate or turbo was on the way out. It says on Internet don't drive more than 100 miles. He did another 10,000 :) it kept going in limp mode if he throttled it a bit so he stopped and it reset He had problems starting it and it was diagnosed by vauxhall a dodgy thermostat sensor. No other codes? So they fixed it and light on dashboard doesn't come on? Does this mean it was that and not the turbo that was the problem?
My 2001 Toyota Corolla CE check engine light has been on for almost a year. One night I was sleeping in my car with the radio turned on all night and the next following day until everything shut off. I started the car, not even a sound, I tried it a gain a few hours later at least this time there was some power that turned the display on and there was a little sound but the car couldn't start. I went to Wal-mart and bought the power bank to jump start the car and it worked. I drove it for a while and suddenly notice that the check engine light was off, gone ! But the next day I started the car and the check engine light was on again ! Any idea why and what the problem is, anyone? Is it something to do with the car battery? Need a new battery to get rid of the check engine light that is on the car's display panel?

Can you refer me to an inexpensive code scanner that reads the codes even without the check engine light on? Thank you
