    You both are so sweet! Thank you for reviewing our Brainy Bunch book. What a nice surprise. Our daughter Mariannah has been following you for months and told us about this video. May God immensely bless you, your TH-cam channel, and all your family!

    Re: The Brainy Bunch... I would just caution homeschool families when they send their kids to college early. College is filled with lots of new ideas which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However with brain development and simple maturity, early college can often have a detrimental affect on young teens. They just aren't ready to have life flying at them like it does in college. Just something to think about as you're on your homeschool journey (yes, I have 3 teens so we are definitely in that phase of life). We just finished On The Banks of Plum Creek last week. My baby is 13 years old and it's my 3rd time going through them as a read aloud. Realizing it may be the last time and it's so sad.

    Taking Charge of Your Fertility was so eye opening. I too wish I'd read it when younger just to understand how my body actually worked. I was so clueless until I was trying to get pregnant. But yes, you'll have to add your Biblical view

    These are my favorite videos! I love the book reviews...please keep doing them! Would love a video on how you annotate your books for later reference and for the books you keep, if you have an organizational system for them or just shove them on a shelf :)

    Thanks for the inspiring recommendations! Would love if you could add the titles/authors in the show notes (Amazon links would be a bonus! 😊) I often listen to your videos while I work and can't write things down right away. It's difficult to find the exact spot in the video again where you mention titles/authors etc. ....or maybe adding time stamps?

    LOVE these book videos!! You guys give me so many good ideas. I read the Little House series with my kids this past year. We really enjoyed them, and the bad theology prompted some good clarifying conversations with my young boys. The worldly wisdom from Pa especially is inspiring. I would recommend skipping the eight book series about the Wilder’s daughter Rose though. It wasn’t nearly as good and takes a disappointing turn around books six and especially seven-feminism, socialism, personal autonomy, etc. I didn’t finish book eight... should have called it quits sooner.
    Thanks for sharing all these recommendations!

    I’d love to hear how yalls child care looks when you’re at community/home group. Do all the kids play where you can see them? Are they in a back room with a baby sitter? Curious because we’re starting to navigate this situation with our kids at our new weekly home group.

    Anne Frank's uncle is a great writer. I'm glad you shared you thoughts on the Fertility book. I felt the same way and was looking for a similar book from a Christian perspective. Id love to give that to my daughter. Interesting reads, thanks for sharing.

  • @steffa648

    Ok I have a question. Is there like a method or strategy to start reading books? Kind of like the couch potato to a marathon? It seems like I just don’t have the desire or drive to read anything these days. Where do you recommend someone start if they don’t like to read?
    I will also add I read to my kids a lot during the day during our homeschool so not sure if that has something to do with it but Katie also homeschools, so I am apparently not doing something right!

    Thanks for the recommendations! Just a note about Frankl’s book… this is not a true story, he has been caught multiple times lying about things and has been using this story as a means to get money. Look into it for yourself if it sparks curiosity, I read it and was also convicted but when I learned later on about the truth, it was incredibly scandalizing.

    • @mktay2067
      @mktay2067 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just did a looksie into it and haven't found what you are talking about. I found one article that states readers may assume, he later stated something unknown during the book and the likes but nothing able to outright show supposed lies.

    I love that you mention Chesterton. You’re sure going to become Catholic 😅❤️

    • @mktay2067
      @mktay2067 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Appreciated his works for decades and yet to see Catholic faith as acceptable. There is too much unbiblical teaching in the Catholic church today. Luther did well to expose the issues.

    • @LindeW
      @LindeW 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We would need to get into specifics to have a proper debate... but I'm subjectively certain that there is a Biblical basis for everything. And the Catholic Church's teachings are really Jesus's teachings. What I love about Protestants is that they typically are looking with all their heart for God's truth and to avoid heresy (we all should). But they miss out on the most important of all: true and carnal intimacy with Our Lord in the Eucharist (John 6). The sacraments are the ways God has established to enter into community with Him, through the sanctifying grace they confer...@@mktay2067

    I studied birth order in my psychology and counseling classes. I feel that most of it is not true when you look at individual families. I dont go by it in parenting. I go by Biblical and personality
