    I have Sapphire Nitro+ XTX and it's perfect for 4k@144Hz, i don't have a need for RT or DLSS, that's why i didn't buy the 4080 or 4090

  • @Greenalex89
    @Greenalex89 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Imo, RT and PT need at least 2 more generations to be viable. Thats why I prefered the 7900xtx with its 24GB of VRAM over the 4080, to last a longer time in 4k or 1440p with FG sometime in the future. Games will just use more VRAM in the future, since it makes developers work easier too.

      Well said, well said 👍
      Performance penalty with RT/PT is just way too much at this point, actually depends on the title but it is. Forza uses RT but I think only for reflections...

    No NVIDIA for me. I went with Team Red. A month ago I found (and purchased) a brand new *XFX Merc 319 RX 6950 XT* on Amazon for $499 US. It's for a gaming rig I'm building soon.
    My next GPU (for a different build) will likely be an AMD RX 7900 GRE, or maybe an RX 7800 XT.
    I also have an ASRock PG Intel ARC A770 for a Linux box I'm planning.
    No more NVIDIA _pour moi._
    🙂

      7900 GRE is such a good card, maybe the best value for now, I didn't have it on hand to test bit it is a great card for sure 🤘
      Why no more Nvidia? I am always curious about why people switch. I use both so...

      @@LevelUPGamingTech NVIDIA's GPUs are too effin' expensive. Ray tracing means absolutely nothing to me, as it's just a marketing gimmick devised to justify the manufacture and marketing of more expensive GPUs.
      Add to that the fact that *all* frame rates above 60fps are completely indistinguishable by my brain's visual cortex, and there you have it: there's not any sane reason for me to spend a king's ransom on a video card. (The GTX 1080 I purchased 7 years ago still works just fine, and the RTX 3060 ti I purchased last year does as well. 👍🏼)

      @@MikeBob2023 Valid argument, I support it 👍
      RX cards work super good, and as I said in the video 1% lows are better, drivers are getting better and better and so on. If I take RT out of the equation for the tests here, 7900 XTX goes much more closer to the 4090 performance territory and above 4080 Super, between the two. Regarding RT, the only noticeable change is in Cyberpunk 2077, other games look more or less the same to me.
      I also have RX 6950XT which I totally forgot about, could have included it 🤦‍♂ It is just a little bit below 4070 Ti Super or close to it. Anyhow regarding FPS, I do notice 60 a lot and above it, but beyond 90 for me it's all the same. What I have found out, 120 works best for every card, just limit FPS to 120 and enjoy smooth experience across the board, AVG fps and 1% lows are locked to 120 👌

    Just get last gen GPUs. Can't go wrong with any RX 6000 cards (anything RX 6600 and above). They're just great value. If you're worried about power consumption just undervolt.
    OR just get either RTX 3060 (ti) or RTX 3080 (10G/12G). Again, undervolt for better power efficiency. I would skip any RTX 30 cards with less than 10GB vram. 3070 (Ti) is aging horribly and 3090 (ti) is too power hungry.

    • @LevelUPGamingTech
      @LevelUPGamingTech  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with this, 3070 is not aging well, 8 gigs of ram ain't gonna cut it unfortunately. 3080 is actually a good card from the last gen if someone is still into last gen cards, RX 6800 XT too.

      I loved my 3060 ti, I camped out at Best buy and got it opening day at MSRP, bought my wife a 6700xt about a year later and not only was she keeping up in fps, but she was having less crashes in the games we were playing at the time. Made me jealous.. so I picked up a sapphire 7900xt nitro and a sapphire 7800xt for us last year so we could really crank up the settings at 1440p native. I ended up giving the 3060 ti to a friend who got scammed buying a "VR ready custom gaming PC" on Facebook marketplace. I often wish I didn't so i could use the 3060 ti for a Linux game server to play on my TV

    Great comparison 🙂
    Agreed, price-to-performance, 4070 Ti Super if you're into RTX, 7900XTX for all else; 4090 if you don't care about your wallet weight and want it to devour everything.
    I'm glad AMD is pulling through as there's no indication Nvidia cards will be less expensive next gen (speaking this as a 4080 Super owner).
    One concern I have for games going forward is that too many games and game engines are designed in a way that image quality and performance are highly dependent on DLSS and sometimes Frame Generation to smooth out performance, and using RTX to actually have reflections and proper lighting/shadows, instead of taking the time and properly optimize games from the ground up. Hopefully this improves in the future.

      For the game developers, lazyness is just a norm now I guess 😂
      Btw If I had the 7900 GRE that card would be competing head to head with 4070 Ti Super and actually would have been a better choice since it is a lot cheaper too, great card, too bad I didn't have it to show it as well 😑

    I know I'm going to get some hate for this but I really think the 4060Ti is one of the best cards for MOST people. If you're playing 1080p and/or esports titles like Fortnite, Valorant, CS, this card is more than enough. Just don't buy it new, find it half price used somewhere.

      Good question, and there is no definitive answer, you can buy now if you need it, but if you can wait, then wait for the new ones, expect delays in shipping, higher prices, etc. But again, there will always be something that you will wait for, it's a neverending game...

      I bought 1 now because I got tired of waiting and also despite being optimistic Nvidia really doesn’t have a reason to make things anymore affordable plus like the video creator said with all the hassle even tryna get a 50 series I just got an 4080 super and I’m it does everything I throw at it at 4k
