Goosebumps when listening to JLP (who is larger than life on stage) and tears in my eyes with Subramaniam. It's not difficult to see why Romani gypsies love the violin, with their roots in India!

I read many commentaries praising Subramaniam, which of course are deserved to one of the top masters of 20th century. But I would insist on how clean and powerfull in subtliness JL Ponthy is playing, he is already in advanced age but his playing and the quality of his sound is absolutly overwhelming, highest respect to the master, you are on a level where music fusionates with higher spheres , Subramaniam knows how to invite the highest musicians. And thanks so much to whow uploaded this monumental song!

Artist, a bit serious, but it is amazing how he got the flower of music, Subramaniam knows, he is a very conscious man and for some reason he trusted Ponthy to be strong and inspired enough for this major event in India. 👌👌👌👌👌 i was listening L . subramaniam for many years, and one day i saw HIM, ( no..., heard THE COSMIC SOUND )him, in a conversation with flamenca guitarist DURING A concert in France, ?93- 94-95 ?
He Just blew my mind. Litterally.
it was in Province in a tiny town . after the concert, , i was, incapable of thinking, or driving home.
Totally stoned, by his" notes" , i walked to a small hotel, and lied down , still, for almost 2 days, , with this soul shake, , and that sound ,,,in my bones, IN SILENCE.
After this, i could not listen to any sound , no music , no people, fot a good week, I stopped working...
He put my life upside down, .open up in another dimension.
Untill now, i have never experienced ANYTHING LIKE THIS.
As i blacked out, i can,t even remember the name of this Town,, It was in the middle of nowhere.
    anyone can help ?, a link ?
    This one is woooooooow !
( sorry for my prehistoric english)

*My dear Yukil, my friend, I too have had a similar experience. In the early 70s, I totally immersed myself - full blast - into the long video version of "IN THE GADA DA VIDA" by Iron Butterfly. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. The perfection of the pounding, mesmerizing beat and the mind-meld synchrony of the possessed band members was too much for me. My mind, my memory, could not let go for hours. For weeks it would come back with super-human presence. The astounding power of music really shook my frail self. I scared myself silly. I was scared of my own fine sensitivity and receptivity for music. Man! It taught me the truth in Clint Eastwood's words: "A man's got to know his limitations." By this I mean, that I learnt that I cannot open myself 100% to music which is too awesome. It will resonate so strongly that it will shake my core more than I can bear!! So now I watch out for musical brilliance and detach sufficiently. Yes, I am a coward now because I am too sensitive to musical brilliance.*

"the drummer" is Billy Cobham...He's been around since the late 1960s, and has been well regarded as a master of his art for nearly as long. That's not just some ordinary session player or some dude they grabbed off the street! Even world class musicians would consider themselves lucky to have him in their rhythm section, because they know he can carry the show all on his own, whether they are playing or not!

I bow to the legend! So blessed to be able to attend his recent concert (9/11) at Georgetown University dedicated in memory of all victims of terrorism and to foster global peace and love. It was an outstanding concert, albeit a short one with a highly delectable Abhogi and a flavorful Kapi (if you know what it means in his native Tamil). Ambi, his son, has the genetic print of his great dad! What really was so touching to me was this king of violin was so unassuming and readily obliged to take pictures. Truly humbling sir. May god bless you and your family with the best of health, peace and happiness.
