The SNES was the first system I purchased w/my own money in Christmas 1992. I earned the money working part time at my local fast food restaurant during high school.
Still have my Super Nintendo and games from when I was a kid when it first came out! Turtles In Time will always be my favorite. Love the channel guys, every time you talk about the beer at the end it has me craving one no matter what time it is. Currently drinking a Labatt at 8am because I don't have shit to do today, cheers!
Awesome video! As a fellow gamer that loves the Super Game Boy, I would definitely like to hear your take on Game Boy games. Thanks for sharing the TMNT Game Boy game in this video, will pick that up.
Recently discovered this channel and so glad I did! Old games from childhood and beer🍺. Currently rebuilding my game collection from childhood and your videos have helped. Thank you 👍
Wes if Moby Dick was a minnow when you were in college, I guess I was Flintston'ing it back in my day! Great collection guys, some of my favorites on the console! Didn't see my favorite game of all time though, Super Castlevania IV.
Great video guys, I really enjoy the content and I appreciate the great content. This is probably my favorite if not my favorite console of all time. Cheers guys 🍻
Likewise man! The damn weekend went so quick. We always want more time. Can't wait for MGC. We're kicking the tires on getting air bnb possibly with the group. I know some have hotels booked already though so we'll see. Cheers!
I sold my snes collection in 2017 like an idiot, I was like "I have the snes classic, i'll just put all my favorite games on there and sell my collection" and for sure, the snes classic is amazing, i love it to death. I just miss my collection. Luckily I never sold Contra III, Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2, or Super Mario World (all complete). But boy, did i sell some impossibly rare stuff. Recently, I've started back up collecting. i've got about 15 additional carts so far, and about 5 boxes/CIB. I've decided that all the games I have on my snes classic, those are the games i'm going to strictly collect for.
@@onehardtosolvekase6670 Wild Guns, Sunset Riders, Pocky and Rocky 1 and 2, shooting for fully complete, i also had Little Samson, Panic Restaurant, Snow bros, metal storm, power blade 2, and many others back in the day. :/
@@GamingOffTheGrid Thanks man! I'm having to resort to finding more recent disc based games in the wild and then trading those or selling those to get the games i really want. So I'll eventually get there!
i just bought a new snes classic mini last night on ebay in 2021 for $215 not too bad i guess, didnt have to wait in line for hours and still have it sell out on me so i guess if you look at it like that, i didnt get that bad a deal.
Shooters on SNES, Axelay or Space Megaforce are my faves on the console. Some other games to add to the collection Mario RPG, Yoshi's Island, Star Fox, Megaman X1-3, Super Castlevania 4, Final Fantasy 2 (4), 3(6), Chrono Trigger, Earthworm Jim 2, Illusion of Gaia, Secret of Mana, all pretty good SNES games.
“This Bud’s For You” because I can’t drink it. 😄 Nice collection - I recently found Killer Instinct for $20 & got a Super GameBoy last year so I could finally play Duck Tales 2 on SNES & for a lot cheaper than paying for the NES version. That Super GB is pretty dang cool, I say! 🍻 & Budweiser sucks!
What Ken Griffey Jr is to SNES baseball games, Bassin’s Black Bass with Hank Parker is to SNES fishing games. If you get really far in it, it becomes so much fun. Best arcade fishing game ever by a MILE. Nothing even comes close.
There is a SNES game that I just love that gets ZERO Love and that is the Speedy Gonzales game. It's a great platformer!!! Also Top Gear 2, Mickey Mania, Captain America, Yoshi's Island and any of the Disney Aladdin, Lion King and Jungle Book Games.
Incredible collection fellas! Gotta have to staples on hand at all times just in case someone wants to catch a beat down in SF2 or Slam Masters. Also you gotta have contra 3 ready to roll also. Love WWF RAW also. I love me all! Keep up the great work
Wow I am shocked we only matched on 6 games (f-Zero, Super Double Dragon, Super gameboy, Super Mario World, Super Punch-out, Thunder Spirits) Still Different Stroke for different folks. Great video. Can not wait to see more collections.
Super Nintendo is such an amazing system. It was my most played console growing up for sure. Chester cheetah was one of my childhood games, and it was really hard.
I enjoyed the 16 bit era. I got a super Nintendo back in August of 1991. I enjoyed seeing the progression from basic to more complex games as time went on.
15:47 I'm sure you guys know by now, but yes you can play Super Famicom games in a SNES console. You just need to clip the two tabs in the SNES cartridge slot, or buy a simple SFC to SNES converter.
Thanks man! I did have ol' Star Fox up until a few years ago. The collection is very fluid. I'm always selling and trading games to upgrade. Pretty sure I traded it off. I will have it again at some point :). Cheers!
Man I love fighting games specially the ones on SNES. Those are some of the best fighting games ever. Plus must of been cool to get to go to Pink Gorilla Games! That place looks amazing!
What it Do! Awesome video you guys , just thought I'd throw out a Co-op games ya gotta give a go , Firestriker it's a like a mix of Arkanoid and Final Fantasy and tennis haha it's amazing , cheers ya guys
Thanks for the suggestion! And yes, Tennis is badass. We are pretty big fans of tennis and volleyball games in general :). Weird but typically fun. Cheers!
Mario All Stars + Super Mario World is the best Super Nintendo game ever! I love it better than the originals! And this is coming from a hardcore Zelda fan! Zelda is my favorite series but damn that combo cartridge is just the best. And my opinion is not wrong! Lol.
Simple fix to play super famicom games on the snes is to break or grind down the tabs inside the cartridge slot and then the super famicom games will run the snes without but i would still use the clone consoles especially if you have the FPGA Analogue consoles :) :)
The only region barrier for the snes is physical. It's super easy to play super famicom games on a u.s. snes. 3 options that are all relatively easy. 1 snap the plastic tabs of inside the cartridge slot. 2. Take the console apart and just remove that part of the tray or buy an aftermarket one without the pegs. 3. A game genie. Same with n64
@Gaming Off The Grid plenty of tutorials online. I started buying super famicom games a few years back because of the massive price difference. The megaman games are a quarter the price among others.
Great collection! I love Super Smash TV and Total Carnage. Here's a few to look out for: Disney's Goof Troop (great co-op), Firepower 2000 aka Super Swiv (co-op shmup), Top Gear, True Lies (an LJN game that is actually good), and Space Megaforce aka Super Aleste (my vote for best shmup on the system from Compile; Space Megaforce is pricey but Super Aleste can be somewhat reasonable).
Great collection guys, reminds me of mine, it may be smaller but it’s fierce! lol A little off topic but have you guys played or heard of Panzer Paladin for the Switch? Amazing retro inspired platformer where you play as a girl who pilots a mech and you collect weapons from killing enemies. The weapons break after a certain amount of use but you can manually break it and it gives you a bonus, such as attack up, defense up, health, stuff like that. You can also get out of the mech(reminds me of blaster master) and she uses a whip to attack, you can also find secret areas with her. The music is amazing as well. Anyway, sorry if you’ve already played or know about this game but knowing the games you guys are into, I just know you’d love it. Keep up the great content!
We haven’t played it yet but have heard good things. I might just have to jump on the Switch tonight and snag it. Thanks for the recommendation. Cheers!
Great vid, as usual :) Where do you get these inlays for the cases? They are universal game cases if I'm correct? I have a collection of NTSC SNES games sitting in UGC's. WIth no covers **
Great video ! Question : do you all do the art work sleeves for the boxes ? It’s not the original box art but I love how you have them in what looks like the old nes cartridge holders with custom art work ? Just curious thanks again !!
We print most of the cover art from (www.thecoverproject.net/). We've had to do a few custom ones over the years but for the most part they are a great source. Cheers!
Great titles on the shelf! Since you started your Super Famicom collection, you should check out a couple more great shooters. Super Aleste (Space Megaforce) only goes for about $60, which is far better than the hundreds it goes for on the SNES. Sonic Wings is great and the Parodius series, which is amazing for anyone who likes Gradius. I'm sure you know you can play Super Famicom games on the SNES, if you have a pair of plyers that you're handy with.
Here's a video we did on this topic a while back. Should have all the info you need. Note: The universal game case site is no longer available but you can source the cases from several sellers on eBay. Cheers! th-cam.com/video/iLvI-dG5X5Q/w-d-xo.html
I have around 70 snes games, but they’re mostly the must play games so no filler titles. Just need to add Earthbound, ChronoTrigger, Batman & Robin, & Donkey Kong Country 3... Thought about going for a complete set once upon a time but then I came to my senses 🤪.
Another awesome video! Snes is the greatest of all time in my opinion. Ps2 is a very close second but because ps2 has such a massive library, we got stuck with a bunch of shovel ware, ports and compilation of games. Snes has a better balance of great games to me with literally every genre of games available to play and of course the snes controller set the standard of what controllers have been moving forward.
They both are great. Depends on the day you ask me to be honest. Forever I would have said the SNES but this last year I've been playing a ton of PS2. Love them both. Cheers!
Illusion of Gaia, Killer Instinct Gold, TMNT Tournament Fighters, TMNT Turtles in Time, Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, Mortal Kombat 3, Batman Returns, Super Metroid, Zelda A Link to the Past, Final Fight, X-Men Mutant Apocalypse, Spiderman and the X-MenSuper Mario World, Super Mario All Stars, Star Fox, Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 2, Hyperzone, Mario Paint, Robocap vs. Terminator, T2 the Arcade Game, Super Scope 6, Super R-Type, Final Fantasy III, Super Return of the Jedi, Revolution X. Does the SNES mini and Virtual Console games count? Cause I may be here a while.
I was waiting for "this video is sponsored by Budweiser" at the end lol. I have to agree with you Wes. I prefer the first DKC game over the other two, even though most people say the second game is the best. As far as Revolution X, shout out to my favorite band Aerosmith. You should play the original PlayStation or Saturn version of the game as they are closer to the arcade version. The 16-bit variants didn't turn out that great. And Rock n' Roll racing is probably the best 16-bit racer in my opinion. Did you guys know there is an updated version on Xbox One and PS4. It might be on switch as well. But basically it's the 16-bit version with a bunch of new tracks added, new classic rock songs, and actual audio for all the songs, not just the midi type renditions. Definitely worth checking out if you guys enjoy that game. Cheers fellas!
Negative. That is one of a few consoles we have close to zero experience with. One day I'll complete the Genesis set up and get to experience it. Cheers!
Hello everyone, everything good. Firstly congratulations on the channel.... It's incredible. A question regarding game boxes. Do you keep the original or replace it with a new one?
I understood. It makes perfect sense. I would also like to say thank you. Because of you channel I started my retro game collection. I didn't have any hobbies to be honest. And one day I was looking at some videos and I saw the video on your channel. I almost went crazy with so much nostalgia and incredible moments that your channel reminded me of through Mega Drive and Super Nintendo games. Of course now the prices are ridiculous. But you can find good games. Thanks again.
I played the original Mario games through Mario All-Stars first and on NES after, as I did not get an NES until I had already gotten a SNES. My first console was actually a SEGA Master System (I'm not British).
I have two Super Nintendo games: Super Castlevania 4 and Shadowrun. However I own 5 Super Famicom games: Secret of Mana 2, Final Fantasy 5, Super Castlevania 4, Chrono Trigger and Super Bomberman 2. I use a Retron 5 with translation patches. Super Nintendo or Super Famicom I wish I had more games. Although I do have an SNES mini.
Batman has several instances of Same-title-different-game. The Adventures of Batman and Robin based on the animated series has SNES and Genesis games are two entirely different games! Non-Batman related, Shadowrun was the same deal.
Robert - you need Tetris attack! Never played it as a kid but got it in my mid twenties and holy shit it’s great. Plays similar to bejeweled or candy crush/street fighter puzzle fighter. It’s a rip off of a Japanese game with art for America. About $8-$12 game. Do it you bastard.
Some of our videos do! With these videos being already long going thru and talking about the collections we just didnt want them to be too long! Cheers!
You can get a super famicom fairly inexpensive on offer up, to play pal or Japanese games I got street fighter 2 and dezaemon (it’s a shmup, a good one at that) well worth the purchase. They are aesthetically much more appealing than the US version IMO, I suppose that’s why the snes jr came out. However, yes the grey and purple are iconic pieces of gaming history
Are you sure on the SNES? I know it can be done in the original game but I really don't think in can be done in TE. I'm gonna have to play the nuts that damn game to try and do it lol.
@@GamingOffTheGrid yeah I've done it multiple times and just googled it and it says you can. When I play I do all dunks. And pick people with alot of power that helps
Ya we've seen that done. I haven't had the heart to do it though since we have a clone console that plays games from any region :). Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Love super Nintendo super Mario super metroid and zelda where my first games looking for a super Nintendo can you guys do an other horror movies that need a game video i can drop you guys a few i came up with let me know when you guys are doing one cheers
If you like super smash tv then you need to watch the running man-this the Arnold Schwarzenegger Movie that the game is loosely based and the movie is very very very loosely based on a Stephan king novel but he was using the sir name/pseudonym of Richard Bachman
@@GamingOffTheGrid You're welcome and considering you guys are old school wrestling fans like I am if nothing else you'll probably like it because Jesse The Body Ventura is in the movie :) :) And speaking of old school wrestling if you don't already own a copy of Showdown Legends of Wrestling for the Xbox I would consider picking it up if I were you I don't think it goes through a whole lot and it's pretty fun wrestling game overall now I'm not going to lie it does occasionally glitch out to the point where you have to quit the match your in and restart it but I've owned the game for several years and spent quite a bit of time playing it over the years and I can honestly say but that's only happen to me like two or three times at the most but the thought I've had playing the game otherwise completely outweighs it. Just one other thing to tell you if you get in a tag team match against two bigger guys such as Andre and King Kong Bundy or Bambam and King Kong Bundy be prepared because they use the five count the full effect if you know what I mean :) :) Hope you're having a good day guys God bless you and your family God bless you Jeremy Scruggs
I am not a big fan the original Mortal Kombat Games. They’re really cool and nostalgic and everything, but I prefer the mortal Kombat games from Ps2 era on. Specifically 9, X and 11. Because I can perform the X-ray moves without having to remember those stupid combos! I like the Original Kombat games if I have friends to play with me, but goddamnit I don’t have time to sit there and try to memorize the combos. I want to play the game and have fun.
every time i watch your channel it makes me happy and makes me laugh im special needs some times i feel like im not like you guys but when i watch i know we are the same tape of people we both love video games we both have vhs tapes we both love movies we love being funny and stupid and if all of those dogs out there they run there mouth about oh robert you cant talk about stuff thats older than you and stuff like that they watch your video even know they dont like them but heres the thing all of those dogs out there they can run there mouth all they want but they well not break up the GOTG family

Ps2 is a very close second but because ps2 has such a massive library, we got stuck with a bunch of shovel ware, ports and compilation of games. Snes has a better balance of great games to me with literally every genre of games available to play and of course the snes controller set the standard of what controllers have been moving forward.
To me PS2 is the greatest console of all time
@@samuraibeastwarrior2886 that’s fair, definitely hard to argue against that. I’ll still choose snes though
They both are great. Depends on the day you ask me to be honest. Forever I would have said the SNES but this last year I've been playing a ton of PS2. Love them both. Cheers!
You can actually play Japanese games if you pry out this plastic tab inside the snes
First thing I did when I bought my US system!
LOL! If they count them we technically have everything. But we love collecting physical as I'm sure you do as well. Cheers to the good ol' SNES!
Killer Instinct gold?
@@Wes36ManOops! Crossed my wires with my N64 collection on that one. Nope, just Killer Instinct. Sorry about that.
LOL! Dude we'll check out that game on the PS4. Sounds like it's right up our alley. Cheers!
"I'm sorry to hear that" hahahaha
LOL! We're frickin idiots I tell ya. Cheers!
You guys are missing SIM City. It's a cheap one but IMO is important to the system. Great collection though!
Dude I love that game. Had it as a kid. Definitely need to snag it again. Cheers!
Have you guys played Batman Returns on Sega CD? It's awesome
Negative. That is one of a few consoles we have close to zero experience with. One day I'll complete the Genesis set up and get to experience it. Cheers!
good collection boyzzzzzz
Thanks a ton man! Got some bangers that we still need to get for sure. Cheers!
Hello everyone, everything good. Firstly congratulations on the channel.... It's incredible.
A question regarding game boxes. Do you keep the original or replace it with a new one?
Thanks so much! If the original is in good shape we keep it! If its really rough we replace! 🍻
Btw Love Home Alone
Well those 2 games are bangers! Both on our want list. Cheers to the good ol SNES!
What are those cib cases for the games..I've never seen that style of clamshell for a retro game. Can someone fill.me.in?
They are custom ones we had made! We liked the look and went with them!
They are awesome thank you for the content!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the content!
Batman has several instances of Same-title-different-game. The Adventures of Batman and Robin based on the animated series has SNES and Genesis games are two entirely different games! Non-Batman related, Shadowrun was the same deal.
Tribute games is involved is doing the new tmnt game.
They did flinthook and panzer paladin.
Amazing games.
Nice! Sounds like it's in good hands. Time will tell. Can't wait to try it out. Cheers!
I need to get myself some clamshell like that for my snes games they looks nice 😳

LOL! We'll track it down :). Cheers!
I think early versions of the SNES version of NBA Jam, Charles Barkley was on the Suns until he was not in the game at all.
You are correct. I think the tell is if the cart has the cut away like the later carts did. I could be wrong though. Cheers!
You guys should add some game footage to your videos a bit more.
A lot of folks love the look of the PAL version. It's cool but damn we love the US model. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
i just picked up a snes mini new in 2021 for $215...not too bad all things considering.
Hell ya! Hack that SOB and enjoy my friend. Cheers to the SNES!
@@GamingOffTheGrid fo sho gotta get that Golden sun, zero mission, fusion on that b!
Rolling Rock Rules!
How can I get one of those Super Nintendo cases. They look custom made.
th-cam.com/video/iLvI-dG5X5Q/w-d-xo.html
You can break the backboard in tournament edition I've done it before
Are you sure on the SNES? I know it can be done in the original game but I really don't think in can be done in TE. I'm gonna have to play the nuts that damn game to try and do it lol.
@@GamingOffTheGrid yeah I've done it multiple times and just googled it and it says you can. When I play I do all dunks. And pick people with alot of power that helps
@@miaxhurricanes43 I’m going to have to try it. I was just on google in a thread that says they removed it. Looks like I’m playing NBA jam tonight lol
So you had to drink Budweiser 2 days in a row 🤣
LOL! YES! God damn it. Cheers!
Little hard on the old Budweiser weren't ya boys
We just arent big budweiser fans! We fully understand why the masses like it though! Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid let's be real it's shit beer cheers lads

Hell yes! WW Quest is a game I'm rather passionate about :). Cheers!
Those custom snes cases?
yes we made a video on it if you want to check it out!
th-cam.com/video/iLvI-dG5X5Q/w-d-xo.html
I think mortal kombat 3 is still one of the best fighting games ever bouta go to a buddy’s and kick his ass right now lol
LOL! Get it done dude. Cheers!
The Batman Genesis cover looks better . It is just like the 90s movie .
It does indeed. The game on the Genesis is rough though. Still kinda fun but sub par for sure. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid good to know .
Cut the tabs out of the system and it will work i did that to my 1 chip snes
Ya we've seen that done. I haven't had the heart to do it though since we have a clone console that plays games from any region :). Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Love super Nintendo super Mario super metroid and zelda where my first games looking for a super Nintendo can you guys do an other horror movies that need a game video i can drop you guys a few i came up with let me know when you guys are doing one cheers
We may have to do another one of those this October! We’re still ironing out our October content :)
@@GamingOffTheGrid awesome let me know i was gonna drop some stuff for you guys to add when you guys do your October content
If you like super smash tv then you need to watch the running man-this the Arnold Schwarzenegger Movie that the game is loosely based and the movie is very very very loosely based on a Stephan king novel but he was using the sir name/pseudonym of Richard Bachman
Thanks for the recommendation. Going to another convention this weekend. I'll try snagging a copy. Cheers!
@@GamingOffTheGrid
You're welcome and considering you guys are old school wrestling fans like I am if nothing else you'll probably like it because Jesse The Body Ventura is in the movie :) :)
And speaking of old school wrestling if you don't already own a copy of Showdown Legends of Wrestling for the Xbox I would consider picking it up if I were you I don't think it goes through a whole lot and it's pretty fun wrestling game overall now I'm not going to lie it does occasionally glitch out to the point where you have to quit the match your in and restart it but I've owned the game for several years and spent quite a bit of time playing it over the years and I can honestly say but that's only happen to me like two or three times at the most but the thought I've had playing the game otherwise completely outweighs it.
Just one other thing to tell you if you get in a tag team match against two bigger guys such as Andre and King Kong Bundy or Bambam and King Kong Bundy be prepared because they use the five count the full effect if you know what I mean :) :)
Hope you're having a good day guys
God bless you and your family
God bless you

Tetris is alright? Get outta here! Tetris is legendary!
I see you guys are using repro boxes.
Yes sir! We like the way they look on our shelves! Cheers!
🤘🏼
King of beer's lmfao sure if your like 16-17 year old kid :)) great video fella's cheer's!
Also not a fatal fury fan. Street fighter is just so much better.
