Back then Hot Pursuit was considered to have the best graphics in gaming history. All games from the early 2010s don't have as great graphics as Hot Pursuit does.
@@mick2287 I meant some of the. Back in the days I do rember it's graphics were phenomenal. Lot of the people who were getting into it was in a big portion credited to how the game looked. Most other games of that time didn’t look as good. And the ones that even did had alot of bugs.
It was an era where most companies were ran by gamers and games weren't rushed out for holidays years early, they got rushed out maybe months or weeks early if at all, they were actually worried about quality then
NFS Unbound tries to go for a drive anywhere type of open world like Forza, but it has too many unbreakable barries and random rock formations, making it feel restricitve. I believe NFS's open worlds were way more memorable when you were stuck on the streets the developers created. It made races more narrow and focused while allowing you to find shortcuts and the fastest routes to the finish lines of different races.
With hot pursuit 2010 I actually really enjoyed the scenic locations that you raced through while driving nice exotic cars, the fact it wasn't open world allowed itself to make these locations more distinct and pretty too. It was also a nice tone shift from games like most wanted and carbon which had a "grimy" feel to them while hot pursuit can be considered more lively in its presentation.
not only does it allow the devs to create art pieces beyond the barriers, it also means having way less stuff to design and place, making for a shorter development time AND better optimisation
Forza Horizon 2 had the perfect balance of this! Beautiful roads where the landscape is closed off and open fields where you could just speed over the hills. Games need to take a note from that. NFS Unbound and (it seems like) TDU Solar Crown have this to some extend.
If Rivals was developed for a good 2-3 years, it would've been the best cop vs racers nfs that we'll get. Too bad EA Rushed that fucking game and made the PC release horrible.
@@thegamingcephalos9412 I play on console, the only issue I have is the host migration, it says you have disconnected from the game but you haven't really, and the loading into the game takes a while after host migration is complete, so if you were in a bad situation, you would be screwed.
crazy how it seems theo made another HP2010 hate video seemingly in response to your latest upload :skull: Anyway, just imagine how good modern takes of HP would be if they focus on elements like these that make them so uniquely fun. Since I'm a singleplayer-only console gamer (always have been), I'm not even sure if I'm going to get the next NFS game when/if it comes out, I tried playing Unbound the other day (for the first time since early 2023) but literally ALL of the volumes content is locked behind multiplayer, so there's simply nothing to come back to. I get that the Unbound dev team is small and making updates to the multiplayer servers must be much easier, but for the older volumes' content not being added to singleplayer just doesn't make sense. I genuinely think if NFS pulled a Forza and made multiple different game styles under the same (NFS) name, that's probably the best way to run the series. I find it funny how people get so picky on what they think NFS should be, it's like looking at Forza Horizon games and calling them "the worst Forza" just because it was originally all about Motorsport (no one does this lmao) -gee I really rambled in this comment lol-
we need racing games that are not "fully open world" but instead something like nfs undergound 2/mw/carbon, midnight club 2/3, the best example is nfs hp 2010 were the entire map is designed only for driving unlike new racing games like heat or forza horizon, were you can drive anywhere which maybe good as it gives total freedom and is more realistic, but produces boring road layouts.
When I first played NFSHP2010, one of my favorite setpieces really were when planes perform a flyby or when you head down to see the amusement park light up
honestly im never really the fan of "beauty barrier", back before i played my first nfs, which is mw 05 i was playing midnight club 3 alot, the open world feel more lively due to the existence of pedestarian and there are no barriers which feels like a real open world imo, then i played mw 05, it's not a bad game in any means, but i always preffered the openness of midnight club games, just my opinion
Still can't believe this was 2010, I swear all games around this era still hold up amazingly well graphically for some reason.

@@naimishtiakahmed9221I don’t know if I’d say best in history aha. Definitely up there though.
Even RDR1 i have the ps5 version and WOW !!! Yeah 2010 era games are just insane and were peaking in a way 🤯

The crazy thing is the whole thing is connected. NFS HP was open world and it puts modern stuff to shame.
Bro does not play games
And this is exactly what the original NFS meant...

Not only did and in fact does ist look beautiful ist also had a great sounddesign. Like the sart up sound when choosing your car.
Truly unique
I feel the same way when i driving in fujimi kaido in FM4

Hot pursuit has one of the prettiest maps
Gorgeous game!
It really is!
We need another Cops Vs. Racers Need for Speed game
Unbound vol 8 is going to bring something similar to this.
@@tobiasl8262Not even close, a cops vs racers mode at best, MP only.

seacrest is a lovely map to cruise on
for sure
I took a gumpert apollo and did my very own seacrest tour
I want more videos on the amazing awesomeness of NFS-Payback!

The joke writes himself with him
Wait hold it 2010 was open world... It was just restricted.
If in hot pursuit tere was a police and bad guys roaming it could be quite a cool side activity
It seems like I made a right call on buying this game at the Steam Summer Sale!
This reminds me of nfs high stacks
Unbound map is so boring
Give me a huge map for the next NfS game

I saw the title and thought the video would be about the STUNNING PC version of NFS3 for some reason. lol
The map : Full of beautiful scenery, lots of sightseeing areas and more.
Me being rammed off the road into an oncoming car by that one Cop player :
I hope need for speed goes back to this. NfS UG 1 might have no open world but it had the most memorable tracks for me.
This game with f1 2010, the magic of graphics quality back then
NFSHP is simply beautiful. Is the definition of Need For Speed
This and Forza Horizon 2 are still my favourite games to cruise around in.
tdu2 is big... but barren, some pockets of fun... but head off the road and it gets a little messy with item placement
Glad to know there's someone else that shares the same passion for the gorgeous scenery in HP 2010 as I do
The first Forza horizon did this amazing. But after the quality of Forza is declining
not really fh3 was the best game in the series
I love love NFS hot pursuit ❤
This game still looks fantastic
I feel like burnout 3 is still better
Did enjoy wandering aimlessly through that map.
Going out of bounds was always a dream to me while playing those games
Same goes for rivals
Like wine 🍷🗿
Driveclub:
Tru dat
Can you do a video on Fuel ? Speaking about map...
Potentially, haven’t played it yet
Rivals still the best nfs game
